Fanon[]

00Q is one of the most popular James Bond ships. It started to gain popularity with the release of Skyfall. Before that, Q had a big age gap compared to Bond, so it was interesting to see someone around his age, maybe a little younger. However, the moments they shared made it seem like they were flirting with each other and sharing playful banter, which made this ship rise in popularity.

On AO3, 00Q is the most written ship for both Q and Bond. It is also the second most written ship in the James Bond (Brosnan Movies) tag and most written in the James Bond (Craig Movies) and James Bond - Ian Fleming tags. There are currently 9100+ written works.

Trivia[]

  • In both eras, Q has risked his career to help Bond. In License To Kill, he pretended to go on leave, although Miss Moneypenny partially helped him to make that decision. In Spectre, Q lies to M about Bond’s location and later helps him to find out about the organisation.
  • In the first era, Q constantly refers to Bond by his code name 007. In the second era, Q alternates between ‘007’ and ‘Bond’, showing a preference.
