07069 is the het ship between Player 070 and Player 069 from the Squid Game fandom.

Canon[]

Not much is known about the background of either characters. They married sometime before the events of the show, and eventually went into heavy debt. Together, they met the recruiter, who played several rounds of ddakji with them, with the winner receiving ₩100,000. After ddakji, the recruiter offered them a spot in the Squid Games without revealing the true nature of the games. They were then presumably given a business card with a phone number. The receiver then presumably asked for their names and their birthdays and gave them a password and a meeting time. They were then gassed and knocked unconscious by guards and brought to the island where the games were held. They were than stripped of their belongings and their clothes, save for their undergarments, and placed player uniforms. They were then put in their respective beds.

Soon after they woke up along with the rest of the players, guards entered the room and explained the game and revealed the prize money as well as the fact that every one of the players was heavily in debt. They were then led to the room of the first round, Red Light, Green Light, which they both survived. After the round revealed the true nature of the game, many players, presumably including 069 and 070 begged to be released, after which all remaining players voted on whether or not the games should end. It is unknown which options either of them chose. The vote was in favour of the discontinuation of the games, and so all of the players, including 069 and 070, were dropped of on the mainland. However, they were all given the opportunity to return to the games.

Both of them later chose to return to the games. They managed to survive the second game, Sugar Honeycombs, together. They then survived the Special Round during lights out. During team selection for the fourth round, Tug of War, Cho Sang Woo initially wanted 069 to join his team, but 069 refused to be on a different team from 070. They both managed to survive the game. For the fourth round, they were asked to form pairs. Assuming that different pairs would be facing against each other, 069 again teamed up with 070. However, it was soon revealed that the game was Marbles, and that pairs would be facing each other. 069 won against 070, resulting in the latter's elimination and death. Following the end of the round, 069 took his own life out of guilt.

Fanon[]

This ship is one of the only canon ships in the show, and 069 and 070 are the only characters besides Ali Abdul and his wife in a relationship during the events of the show. However, despite this, the ship is not very popular. This is largely due to the fact that 069 and 070 are minor characters in the show. 070 only appears in two episodes, while 070 only appears in one more episode. As such, in the pieces fan fiction that they do appear in, they are typically only in the background. On AO3, 07069 is the most written ship for both Player 70 and Player 69. There are currently 4 written works.
