2x is the non-binary ship between Two and X from the Battle for Dream Island fandom.
Canon[]
Battle for BFDI[]
X initially offers Four an apple juice box but Four interprets it as X wanting to leave to co-host Two's show and tells him to leave and join Two's Show. After leaving Four, X just stands near Two with a neutral expression.
Battle for BFB[]
Firey claims that Two and X are best friends now after the events of Battle for BFDI 16. The camera pans and they can be seen playing patty-cake with each other in the Grasslands. Two is concerned when Coiny suggests gluing X to the ground to keep them from leaving them and joining Battle for BFDI again. Two points out that glue can damage skin though Coiny shrugs it off, saying that "whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger", and claims he has glue that is gentle to numeric membranes. Two is the only one who isn't happy to see X dropped in the "glue" due to them being concerned. When X is taken by the Four Colored Team, Two waves bye-bye to X, calling him a "silly boy" and saying they have valued their time together.
The Power of Two[]
Two says that the food is being made by the hotel's new chefs; Four and X! Two tries to extend their arm to try to take some food from the kitchen but the two get angry and X bites their arm. The host-turned chefs aren't too keen on letting Two have a bite, insisting the food is for the hotel inhabitants only. Two decides to contest is to make food for them, or steal their food. When Snowball steals their food, he shoves X out of the way. X calls on Four to stop Snowball from stealing the food and giving it to Two, which fails. Two turns Clock into a chef to help Four and X so they can fix their problems with Winner. Two notices the whiteboard now says that two exitors will join TPOT instead of one, which confuses them. X steps in, suggesting that it makes sense because Two is associated with the number 2. Two agrees, thinking it sounds like something they’d come up with, so they let it slide. X is shown to have a picture frame with him, Two, and Clock in the background.
TWO OF THEM!?[]
Two went to Four and X to have a talk about two Nickels. Four heavily declines to due to thought of helping them disgusts them. X says "Yeah! What Four Said!" in return to Four's explanation. X does say they mean it in a non aggressive tone due to being sympathetic to their situation that they are having at that moment.
Fanon[]
2x is a very unpopular ship in the Battle for Dream Island fandom, as it is more of a rarepair. It's commonly hated on and disliked by a large majority of the BFDI fandom since most fans prefer 4x/Fourx. It's mostly popular with people who prefer rarepairs/less common ships over the more popular ones; or people who don't care for the algebraliens as much. Their interactions in BFB 17, X Marks the Spot, such as playing patty cake together and Two concerned for X's well-being most likely is what sparked the ship between the Two. The two have never really interacted since then, which could be why it's extremely unpopular. They're sometimes portrayed as a "cute couple", who care a lot for each other, and would have to avoid Four to be together. Despite past fanon, Two has no malicious intent with X as some used to think (thinking that Two stole X from Four, which is not true). It's heavily rivaled by 4x (Four x X), 24 (Two x Four), and Gattwo (Gaty x Two).
They currently have a couple works on AO3, although most of the 2x fics have other 2/x ships included. There is an unfinished book on Wattpad titled "Secret Meetings" about them. (You can find it in the 2x tag).
