57 is the non-binary ship between Five and Seven from the Battle for Dream Island fandom.

Canon[]

When Five calls Nine annoying when they return, Seven adds on that they are tasty. Five is caught off guard by the comment, leading Seven to explain they were referencing the "Why was six afraid of seven" joke. Despite Seven's clarification, Five is disgusted and condemns acts of cannibalism.

As Seven speaks up when the other numbers recount how Ten saved their cats from a tree, Five assumes that Seven is about to say the same as well. Seven then reveals that they were the one stuck in the tree instead. Five wants to go get Ten, making Seven say that they're lying when Five claims to talk all the time with Ten. When Seven asks Five to name one friend, Five acts as if they literally meant One the person and responds that they aren't around, leading to a disagreement between the two. While the numbers conflict over who gets to retrieve Ten, Five tells Seven that they're wrong about being the one to do so and that Five themself already called it first. The two, along with Nine, Six, and X, compete in Four's competition deciding who gets to be the one to retrieve Ten. In the final three, Four tells Seven that he gets to advance because they're not purple nor a five, leading to Five's elimination.

While playing chess, Five yells at Seven for eating the pawns. Seven tries defending themself that they're hungry and the pieces taste good while Five wants to uphold game rules. As Nine and Six (fused as Fifteen) approach the numbers, the two, along with Ten, become hyped up over Fifteen's return. Five and Seven don't mind when Fifteen claims to have eaten Six and Nine. Later when Seven laughs about Fourteen going to eat people's skin, Five brings up that they should take action.

As Five plays Jenga with Six, Eight, Nine, and Ten, Seven greets them and wonders what they're doing. A green Seven approaches them as well much to Five's shock. When the two Sevens start chatting with each other, Five calls out that Fourteen split himself into two Sevens. The green Seven plays along as the real Seven is confused by this. Five tells Seven that they would know if they were the real Seven and gets Six and Nine to take them away as Seven tries to plead otherwise. Afterwards when Fourteen eats Ten's skin one night, Five calls the other numbers and informs them that they caught the wrong Seven. After the second green Seven is caught, the real Seven is released as they say they won't hold any grudges despite the earlier accusations.

In "Counting On Christmas", Five wishes for some books to fill their bookshelves, which leads to Seven calling the latter a dork, and Five getting angry at them. However, they, and the rest of the cast (except Four and Fourteen) both agree to decline Fourteen's wish to have a fork.

Fanon[]

Within algebralian ships, 57 is fairly popular for Five while somewhat more rare for Seven. Shippers of the two put together their similar characteristics, notably the two being described as dorks within the other numbers. Because the two often get into conflict in the shorts, these moments are sometimes interpreted as a love-hate relationship. Ship art has common themes of Seven trying to flirt with Five but failing in a humorous way, or the two teasing each other romantically. The pairing also has a following on TikTok with video edits and animations being frequent. The ship is often rivaled by Seven's more popular ships, 79 and 67, while sometimes compared with other Five ships like 510, 25, and 512.
