Abbeath is the het ship between Abbey Bominable and Heath Burns from the Monster High fandom.

Canon[]

Abby and Heath's romance is one of the few that is in all generations of Monster High.

Generation 1[]

When Abbey first came to Monster High, she grabbed the attention of most monsters in the school, with Heath approaching her, calling her "baby" and offering to carry her books for her. Abbey simply told him that was not her name and took her notebook back, accidentally freezing him in the process. Spectra notes this on the Ghostly Gossip as "New Girl Gives Heath Burns the Cold Shoulder." He later approaches her again, making an effort to call her by her name and introduce himself. Despite her cold hands, he does move forward with kissing them, only for his lips to be frozen off. As he walks away, Abbey notes to Frankie that he is like a "hailstorm that think it is iceberg".

In her diary, Abbey admits Heath is annoying but cute and was told he wants to date her. He has used multiple pick-up lines that confused her and she asked Lagoona for an explanation. Abbey decides that until he asks her out properly, she is going to continue to ignore him.

They both attended Monster Mashionals to cheer on the Junior Fearleading Team. Heath (albeit somewhat with Venus' influence) was the announcer for the Recyclable Fashion show, which Abbey participated in.

Despite not knowing the rules, Abbey did attend the Skulltimate Roller Maze (SKRM) finals, which Heath tagged in for. She helped run tryouts for the new SKRM team, which Heath was present for, and despite his protests, she joined the new team. She helped Monster High reach finals again, with Heath being a temporary fearleader as most of the current fearleaders were doing SKRM.

When Heath went to take a closer look at the shrinking device, Abbey claims he is like a baby yak that has to sniff everything.

With the dance of the dead approaching, Heath joined in on Abbey talking about the dance, juggling specifically to impress Abbey. He messes up, which got a chuckle out of Abbey, but her friends push him away. Later on, he is seen in line for Abbey's speed dating, which upsets her friends, thinking that he's there to make a joke. He claims he's "not messing around", but the ghouls take him out of line anyway. He later sets someone's shoulder on fire to create enough of a distraction to meet up with Abbey. He attempts to flirt with her, but the ghouls catch him and promptly kick him out. He trips upon exit, which gets a laugh out of Abbey. This, along with seeing his disappointment, was enough to convince her to take him to the dance. At the dance, Heath ends up setting off the sprinklers, and Abbey accidentally freezes him, but the two seemed to enjoy their time together.

Around Halloween, when Heath set a pull-trap meant to catapult pumpkins towards lingering students, Abbey did not hesitate to create a wall of ice to protect Heath. Heath thanks Abbey but is instantly made fun of by the likes of Manny Taur. Heath tries to make up for it by attempting to "rescue" Abbey from a book that was about to fall on her, but he only ends up tripping and burning the book instead. Lagoona tries to explain why this is being done to an aloof Abbey, but it does not become clear to her. Later, Heath accidently informs Abbey and her friends that there is going to be a meeting with a group of monsters that plan to vandalize New Salem High, which prompts all of them to try and stop them. They end up meeting at Chad's Halloween party, posing as humans in costume. Abbey tries to stop Heath from eating hot food, but he ignores her, which ends up lighting up his hair, prompting Abbey to literally try and cool him down and accidentally triggering the monsters' freaky flaws. Along with this, Abbey gets a detention a second time for attempting to meet up with Holt at New Salem High and offers to get Frankie out, with Heath comedically coming in to pronounce that he was going to rescue Abbey, only to leave when Mr. Hack threw a cleaver his way. They both helped Frankie rescue Holt and get the humans into the catacombs to attend her Halloween party. During the party itself, he watches as Abbey makes a giant yeti out of ice, When it falls, he jumps to her rescue, followed by Abbey explaining that's how you would ask a girl to dance in the Himalayas.

They both modeled for Clawdeen's Flashin' Mob and Scaris Fashion Show. When his friends reunited with their girlfirends in Scaris, Heath wondered if anyone missed him. Abbey said she missed him a little bit, which prompted him to flex. Abbey simply pushed him away, telling him not to push it, but he smiled sheepishly.

While celebrating saving the oldest tree at Monster High, Abbey pushes Heath on a swing, but ends up sending him flying.

In their Home Ick notebook, Heath said he wasn't intending on taking Home Ick, but Abbey's presence distracted him and he checked the wrong box. He is convinced to stay in the class by Deuce and Abbey and he ends up being partners with her. One day, Heath ends up burning their cookies, which resulted in a failed assignment. When asked if she wanted a new partner, she told Ms. Kindergrubber that they'll make up for it with a good dish. Abbey invites Heath to her residence, which he mistakes for a date. Abbey created multiple ice pillars with an apple inside and wanted Heath to melt the ice without burning the apple. After about three hours of trial and error, Abbey gives up and accepts that she is going to fail Home Ick. Seeing this, Heath decides to concentrate and ends up not burning the apple. With that, Abbey and Heath work together to make a good dish and end up passing the class.

Heath volunteered to model for Abbey's art class. She wrote in her notebook that Deuce needed to keep him still. In the related webisode, Heath ended up messing up the students' art projects due to having a cold. When he was about to do so again, Abbey froze him so they would be able to finish. When channel 13 interviewed Monster High on Catty Noir, Heath held up the peace sign from behind the staircase, and Abbey jokingly knocked him back with a Catty sign. Heath can be seen flirting with Abbey at the jungle boogey dance, right before Spectra douses him in punch.

During A Night in Scare-idise: Prom 2014, Abbey and Heath were one of the four couples running for King and Queen. During the first week, Abbey was asking what prom is and how to get a date. After Howleen explained, she asked who she was taking, with Abbey telling her she would be the second to know when she finds out. Later that week, Heath made a post teasing who he's going to ask to the dance, even though it was obvious to everyone that he was referring to Abbey. His friends still supported him, even though he continues to try and keep it secret. After teasing again in the third week, Abbey came forward and said that they are going together and he's wearing a suit. Heath was surprised by this, but attempted to salvage it by dropping a pickup line and once again calling her "baby" once more. Abbey corrected him but accepted the bouquet of frozes he initially offered. Despite the emphasis on fan votes, all outcomes were pre-decided, and they ended up being the winners for King and Queen. This outcome surprised Abbey, but she was happy that they won.

In the comics, Abbey walks by Heath helping Clawdeen out with a fashion vlog. He learns that she likes a man that can dress himself and tries to get featured on Clawdeen’s vlog. When it’s rejected, he asks Howleen for some help, but each outfit they come up with isn’t good enough for Clawdeen. Howleen then gives Heath Clawdeen’s clothes for a brand new outfit, which he thinks will impress Abbey. Howleen realizes he likes her, which embarrasses him and causes him to burn the clothes. Extinguished with smoothies, Howleen has Heath hide in a locker and ends up getting the school to wear the ruined clothes. Heath leaves the locker in a panic due to his claustrophobia and announces himself to Abbey. She’s unfazed due to the outfit becoming a trend and Clawdeen finally features him on her vlog. After school, Abbey tells him she was fine with the way he originally dressed, and he is ready to go back to his old look.

Heath stops Abbey handling merchandise to find the Fraidy Hawkins (Sadie Hawkins) dance. He tries to joke with her, but since she was busy, she doesn’t pay much mind to him. He worries about being the only single guy to go to the dance and comes up with the idea to give himself “cuddliness” through a furry fiend. He goes to the science lab with his friends to attempt this, but Valentine ends up overloading and starting the system for them, turning Heath into a love monster. Abbey approaches him in this form after he makes a ruckus, firmly refusing any advances he attempts to make. She realizes the monster is Heath and gets Ghoulia to reverse the condition immediately. He’s still a little wooly, so Abbey tells him to “get back to normal” by the time of the dance so he can be her escort.

Generation 2[]

In the mobile game Minis Mania, there is a customer that looks a lot like Heath that Abbey can sometimes serve if she is working that day.

Generation 3[]

In Monster High: The Movie, Heath scares Abbey as a prank by revealing Deuce's hair as she is walking by. He was seen talking to her in the halls the next day, and later in the week playing football with her during lunch. While the students are in the graveyard with Hyde, he appears to be protecting her.

In the 2022 animated series, during Nightmore, Heath proclaims a fear of yetis and "freezer burn", which is what is said would happen if a fire elemental and yeti cross paths. However, when he sees Abbey, he is instantly enamored with her and her beauty. Upon the realization that he wouldn't get freezer burn by touching her, he attempts to get closer to her and enjoys the snowball fight she offered. When everyone was encouraging her to create a bridge, he called her a "skilled, charismatic and beautiful monster". And while telling her mother that Abbey would belong at Monster High, he claims that what he experienced was better than what he expected, called her amazing and apologized for not meeting her sooner. They had a large Nightmore party, in which they both ended up under the missing-toes (pun on mistletoe). Heath attempts to kiss her, but Abbey is so excited to attend Monster High, she doesn't picks up on this and just ends up creating a pile of snow.

He both admired and celebrated her as she completed her midterms.

For Scareer Day, he joins Abbey for her mom’s session. They support each other as the day goes on and are happy to be together. Heath is frustrated when his dad shows up, but Abbey tells him not to worry much about it. When the slumber pixies got out, they worked together to trap them once more. Heath checked up on her afterwards, worried that they got her “strong, amazing” self. His father realizes he likes her and tells her that Heath used to pick his nose just to burn them. Heath is embarrassed, but Abbey just laughs as she did something similar when she was a child. His dad later asks if Heath wants any help, but Heath wasn’t interested in getting any love advice.

They both joined the dance committee and snacked on snow caps in the first meeting.

Heath performed a monster match for Abbey in which a fuse would light up a display of them together. She agrees to go to the Monster Ball with him and they hug, creating a large steam cloud in the shape of a heart. Abbey apologizes for purring out his hair, but Heath simply reignites it.

He wrote a song for her and was fine tuning it for the dance, having her picture in front of him as he did so. The lyrics reflect his anxiety over being with someone like her, yet admiring her despite her flaws. The song ends up playing when Abbey is given an award for being the best yeti. Everyone starts being obsessed with her, which causes Heath to come to her defense. They hide together and defend themselves until the obsession passes. Abbey needed to cool off from the commotion and Heath goes to help her. He later tells Frankie that he lost the song and assumed they found it. The two can be see dancing together at the end of the dance.

In Abbey’s music video “Feel the Energy”, they are dancing together throughout most of the song. She sings about loving her newfound warmth and is happy her life is changing. When she sings this part, she forms a steam heart with Heath, the two smiling at each other.

Fanon[]

It appears at one point in time during generation 1, there were a large amount of fans that didn't want the two to be together whatsoever. They believed she was too good for him or that she didn't like him at all. However, it appears majority of those who held this viewpoint have faded out as it is one of the most popular ships for both of them. Many fans enjoyed the moments they shared in the live action movie and enjoyed their time together in the winter holiday special as well.

On AO3, Abbeath is the most written ship for both Abby and Heath. It is also the fifth most written ship in the Monster High (Live Action Movies) tag, the fourth most written ship in the Monster High (Comics) and Monster High (Cartoon 2022) tags and third most written in the Monster High (Toys) and Monster High (Cartoon 2010) tags. There are currently 110+ written works.
