LITTER KILLS: LITTERALLY

JFK's best friend, Ponce de Leon, is killed in a tragic litter accident. His death is felt throughout the school, but hits JFK extremely hard because the two's last conversation was an argument. JFK mourns for days after the funeral, held at the school. Cleo, although JFK's ex and now dating Abe, feels the need to bring him with her and Abe to comfort him. Abe gets upset at this and leaves his own car angrily. He meets with Joan, who tells him that mourning and loss is natural and necessary. He cries for the first time after Ponce's death and Joan notably comforts him by holding his head and kissing him on the forehead.

After his moment with Joan, Abe walks outside to see JFK sitting on the school dock overlooking the sunset. JFK is curled in a ball and looking at the water. Abe walks up and apologizes for how inconsiderate he'd been acting towards JFK during his grieving process. JFK doesn't look at him or react, so Abe sits next to him. He tells him that he doesn't know what to say in this situation, so he wraps his arms around JFK and tells him that he's going to hold him for a while. JFK weakly tells him to let go, but Abe only shushes him softly and rocks him. JFK says again to let go of him and he threatens to punch Abe if he doesn't. Abe understands and lets go, letting JFK scoot to the other edge of the dock. He sits like that for a moment before asking Abe to hold him again. JFK starts crying and tells Abe that he's a Kennedy, so he's not accustomed to tragedy. Abe kisses JFK on the forehead, just like Joan did for him. JFK tells him about the fight him and Ponce had before Ponce's death, but Abe comforts him by telling him that the last thing Ponce said to him about JFK was that he was a good person. The recollection comforts JFK and him and Abe come up with the idea of cleaning up all the litter on campus in Ponce's honor. While they discuss it, Abe puts his arm around JFK's shoulders and leans his head against his as they look at the sunset together.

CLONE ALONE

When Candide sends all the clones to her "Death Maze" to decide who will be picked as the best candidate for Operation Spread Eagle, the main clones split into two groups to conquer the maze. JFK, Abe, Topher and Confucius are in a group together. Abe asks which way they should go as they approach an open area with many different options. JFK says that he always listens to his butt for directions, and his butt points them in a direction. Abe says that he listens to his Adam's apple for directions, and that his Adam's apple is telling him to listen to JFK's butt. Confucius is miserable after being dumped by Harriet at the gates of the maze and frustratingly tells them that he doesn't care about what their bodies are saying because he just misses Harriet. JFK is sympathetic to his plight since he was recently broken up with by Joan, while Abe says that they should continue to focus on finding where to go because of their time constraint. JFK says that being broken up with feels like a bullet to the head, claiming that Abe could never understand what that feels like. The group then hear what sounds like Joan and Harriet's voices calling for help from Confucius and Abe respectfully. JFK and Abe then have an argument about who should look for Joan because JFK is still in love with her, but Abe believes that he has the right to look for her now that she and JFK broke up. Topher reminds him that him and Joan aren't dating. JFK then has a delayed realization that Abe is in love with Joan and gets upset with Abe. They all walk towards the voices to find that heebie-jeebie babies are just mimicking Joan and Harriet's voices to attack Confucius and Abe. The babies bite onto the two and JFK fights off the baby devouring Abe's head. Abe thanks him. Confucius then sets off a trap of shooting pencils and the four run from them. Abe and JFK use their bodies to help the group get across a path with gaps to avoid the projectiles. JFK, Confucius and Topher hide in a hole after leaving Abe after he helps with the last gap. When the pencils stop flying, JFK is the first to pop his head out and ask if Abe survived. Abe did indeed make it, and as he tries to scramble onto the platform, JFK offers his hand to help him up and they smile at each other. After he is up, Abe says with JFK, in unison, that they make a good "duo of bros that will remain friends for the rest of their lives." They then hug.

The Secret Board of Shadowy Figures, watching the clones complete the maze in a sports bar, are annoyed at JFK and Abe bonding. Candide then brings out her special flute to play a tune that will activate certain clones that she gave mind control chips in a previous episode. One of those clones is Topher, and he begins choking Abe while on his back. JFK sees this and punches Topher off of Abe's back, telling him to leave him alone because Abe is his best friend. The punch successfully knocks Topher out of his mind control and he apologizes before telling Abe to carry him on his back again. Abe instantly obliges, and JFK stops them to ask why Abe lets Topher boss him around. Topher reminds Abe of the blackmail he has of Abe and Mrs. Grumbles kissing from a previous episode, and JFK asks Abe what Topher is talking about. Abe explains, also noting that Topher is in love with Joan, too. JFK says that being attracted to Joan is just a special thing for him and Abe. He takes Topher's phone and breaks it between his buttcheeks. Abe thanks JFK and says that the strongest thing in the world is their friendship. They suddenly hear Joan's voice from afar again, this time asking to join Abe and JFK's team when she left the girl group out of anger. JFK yells back that Abe has something to tell Joan, telling Abe to go for it and confess his feelings for Joan. However, Abe is unsure if the voice is really Joan this time or another heebie-jeebie baby mimicking her to trick them. Abe asks a question, then claiming that Joan got it wrong. JFK and Abe then start berating what they think is a heebie-jeebie, but what is actually Joan. This angers her and she decides to become a "lone wolf," becoming feral and focused on killing all the other clones with the traps in the maze so that she can win.

Joan successfully takes down Harriet, Frida and Cleo, then moves on to the boys. She sets up a mock basketball court that has a trip that activates when a ball makes it into the net and a point is scored. The four boys mainly mess around and are completely unable to make a shot. They finally stack on top of each other to ensure a point, which then sets off Joan's trap and drops all four of them into a pit. Joan then wins the maze alone and Candide meets her to tell her the truth of the maze and the entire point of unfreezing the original clones. She shows Joan that she didn't kill any of her friends, only sent them to a room where they will have their minds wiped of any memory of Joan so that she can be a world leader and the others can be repurposed. In the mind-wipe room, the clones are chained to desks waiting for their fate. JFK, sitting behind Abe, tells him that he can't see Joan in the crowd, meaning she must have won. JFK tells Abe that he approves of Abe potentially dating Joan. Abe thanks him.

BIBLE HUMPERS: A MUCH NEEDED PRAYCATION

Fanon[]

This ship has undergone somewhat of a resurgence with the reboot, especially with the finale of the second season. AbeFK seemed to have begun with the tenth episode of the first season, "Litter Kills: Litterally," when Abe kisses JFK on the forehead to comfort him. The dynamic in the actual show is quite touch-and-go, as the two frequently bounce back and forth between being friends, enemies, and neutral to one another. As with most other Clone High ships, most fan content lies in fan art rather than fan fiction. There is plenty of fan art of the two on Tumblr and Twitter.

On AO3, AbeFK is the fifth most written ship for JFK and third most written for Abe. It is also the ninth most written ship in the Clone High tag. There are currently 25+ written works.
