Abe & Abraham is the family ship between Abe Lincoln and The Original Abraham Lincoln in the Clone High fandom.

Canon

Overview

Just like with all the other clones at Clone High High School, Abe Lincoln was cloned by Principal Scudworth and The Secret Board of Shadowy Figures, using the DNA of a deceased historical figure. In Abe's case, he was obviously cloned from the original Abraham Lincoln. As such, it's his life goal to live up to the name of his clonefather and be just like him when he becomes an adult. However, as a teenage boy in high school, he's understandably worried about filling such big shoes, wondering if he's even capable of pulling off such a feat. It's also easy for him to forget what he's doing, as he tends to get wrapped up in the teenage drama of Clone High High School and all of the typical struggles that come with being a teenager. However, he still remembers his roots as a clone and strives to follow in the footsteps of his ancestor, in hopes one someday achieving the greatness that his clonefather brought onto the world.

The Original Abraham Lincoln apparently has some kind of knowledge of the cloning that took place after his death. Certain episodes have exhibited that the "spirit" of Abraham Lincoln has the ability to communicate with his cloneson in various ways and help guide him through life.

Season 1

A.D.D.: THE LAST "D" IS FOR "DISORDER"

Abe witnessed his friend, Gandhi being bullied and ostracized for having A.D.D. and just stood there in discomfort, feeling bad for his friend but still not doing anything about it. Abe then took out a five dollar bill, where the picture of The Original Abraham Lincoln started talking to him. OG Abraham told Abe that he knows what he has to do. Abe realized that his clonefather was making a good point and it was time to took action. This motivated Abe to go up to Gandhi and make out with him, so that he could throw himself under the bus as a supposed homosexual and divert hatred away from Gandhi.

A ROOM OF ONE'S CLONE: THE PIE OF THE STORM

Abe was distraught by the bitter rivalry between Cleo and Joan and wondered how he could execute conflict resolution to help his two favorite girls. He looked to the original Abraham Lincoln for advice by going on Mr. Lincoln's Mild Ride, so that he could learn more about his clonefather and see how he could try and figure out what he would do in this situation. Although Abe had little to go on besides hearing a crappy animatronic of his clonefather promote the various snack foods at the theme park, he was able to gather the spirit of The Gettysburg Address and how the original Lincoln sought to resolve the conflict between the North and the South during the Civil War. Abe tried to apply this same kind of conflict resolution to Joan and Cleo but this only resulted in them literally dividing their house against each other by painting a Mason-Dixon line through their room like one of those sitcom cliches.

RAISIN THE STAKES: A ROCK OPERA IN THREE ACTS

Abe fell from Scudworth's wall and landed his head on a rock, making him go unconscious. While he was out, he found himself in a dreamlike state, where he stood upon these beautiful clouds of Heaven. This is where he met with the spirit of The Original Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln literally told Abe that he considered him to be his son. He foresaw Abe ending the war on raisins the was terrorizing Exclamation! U.S.A. by doing the right thing and stopping his drug addiction. When Abe awoke, he was now a changed man who denounced smoking raisins and led his people to return to sobriety.

Fanon

The father-son relationship between Abe and his clonefather tends to be overlooked by a number of people in the fandom, due to it being overshadowed by the romantic ships, born of the teen-drama that Clone High runs on. However, some fans who admire the show more so for its historical element strongly appreciate how well this relationship's portrayal in the canon series clarified how the teenage clones generally interact with their cloneparents.

One Tumblr user, Kimtiny, has been working with her friend on an alternate universe fanfiction, which focuses more on emphasising a much stronger bond between the clones and their cloneparents. In this AU, the ghosts of such historical figures as Abraham Lincoln follow their respective clones around and communicate with them.
