AbsoluteJay is the non-binary ship between the Absolute Solver and Serial Designation J from the Murder Drones fandom.

Canon[]

The Absolute Solver is a deadly program that aims to consume all living things, including planets. J always knew them to be Cyn, who the program possesses and takes the identity of. During J's Worker Drone years in the Elliot Manor, she works alongside Tessa Elliott, her best friend, to rebel against the evil sentient virus. When the Solver, or "Cyn", infects V with their influence, the mutated drone comes to confront Tessa and J who paired up to fight against it; starting with retaining the key to their basement. J stupendously defends against the Eldritch V in a sword fight. Later on, she ends up possessed herself when Tessa and her find themselves in the gala.

The Solver controls her to slam the door shut behind them, locking them in with the Solver, who proceeded to massacre the humans. It's assumed that afterwards it took J and transformed her into a Disassembly Drone. J, now a Murder Drone, believes that her home company, JCJenson, is responsible for sending her, V and N to Copper 9 to destroy the Worker Drones since they're considered "parasites". She's extremely loyal to JCJenson without realizing it is the Absolute Solver she's worshiping. After her death in the Pilot, the Solver within her takes hold and works to reconstruct her.

It's debatable whether this is Cyn's conscious merging with J, but the Eldritch J, an abomination the Solver created of her, referred to herself as "us". This can declare that the Solver has a consciousness outside of the identity of Cyn. The program successfully revives J as seen in her return in the third episode, The Promening. In the third episode, J is seen standing next to an adult Tessa. This fools everyone to believe that J is on V, N, and Uzi Doorman's side in stopping the Solver's agenda. In reality, however, Tessa is Cyn underneath a disguise.

Her true identity isn't revealed until the fourth episode, Mass Destruction. J is later confirmed to be fully aware of the false Tessa, even since The Promening. And she actually sided with the Solver rather than rebelling against it. In the finale, Absolute End, V made sure to enlighten J on her rage with the latter for siding with Cyn. J excuses herself as reasonable for making the decision she made.

Her reasoning being that it's better on the winning team, confirming her lost hope in drone kind against the Solver. She offers mercy to V at the cost of getting her to join the bad side. But to her dismay, she's instantly denied. Furious with V, she bitterly declares she didn't need her and N. After a brief timeskip in the episode, J and Cyn find themselves in battle against the triumphant trio. J ends up going down first; V and N blast her into a pit after she attempted to behead Uzi when Cyn distracted the purple drone. The Absolute Solver is forcefully transmitted into Uzi after she consumed Cyn's heart, thus she became its host that it cannot take full control over.

Fanon[]

Though a rarepair and very often confused with EldritchTerrors, the ship is acknowledged, especially on AO3. The Absolute Solver and Cyn are considered two different bodies, thus it shouldn't be confused with the femslash between J and Cyn. The ship spiraled to life after J had betrayed practically every living being to side with the Solver out of presumed cowardice. Some may find this as an act of genuine loyalty and devotion rather than fearful acceptance. Others say that J formed a companionship because Cyn wore the skin of her best friend, thus she felt closer to the deceased Tessa Elliott.

The ship may be seen as a proship due to sporting the "boss x employee" trope. But nonetheless, some find genuine adoration for it. Another possible reason for the pairing's birth is due to J being archenemies with practically every character because of her position as an antagonist. With this, many find most J ships with characters other than Cyn or Tessa as "toxic", though that doesn't stop many shippers shipping their favorite J ships. The pairing is easily overshadowed by popular pairings OilRose, EldritchTerrors, Jessa, Enjay, and Juzi.
