Canon

Adam confused by Lucifer's words

Adam and Lucifer harbor a notable disdain and animosity towards one another. Their main interaction comes from the episode "The Show Must Go On", where Lucifer flies in to save Charlie from Adam's attacks during the final battle. Adam climbs up, mask half-shattered as he angrily asks how many more freaks he has to fight. Lucifer, rolling up his sleeves in preparation confidently strides forward. Saying because Adam messed with Charlie, Lucifer declares he is going to fuck Adam. Every individual watching the battle pauses, all with varying reactions. The Exorcists share shocked glances, the Vees show a quizzical countenance–with Valentino even commenting how the situation "just got interesting", and the members of the Hazbin Hotel are all confused. Adam himself shows a wary and uncertain expression to Lucifer's statement while the latter grins proudly. Charlie is embarrassed and tells Lucifer the phrase is actually, "fuck you up," to which Lucifer apparently forget what he said. Adam then lunges at Lucifer and slams him into a wall with a battle cry.

Lucifer smugly dodges Adam's attacks

Lucifer flies up and dodges the attacks, sarcastically commenting on Adam’s actions since Eden, flying around while dodging Adam’s continuous attacks by changing into multiple animal forms. Adam is infuriated by Lucifer as he angrily calls him the most hated being in creation. Unbothered, Lucifer dodges Adam’s angelic lights. While soaring and making a V sign, Lucifer says Adam’s first wife Lilith didn’t seem to hate what he had to offer. Lucifer leans in and smiles cockily, adding, “Or the second.” before he makes a thrusting movement and sings, “Bow chicka wow wow!” to suggest he had a one-night-stand with Eve. This proves to enrage Adam even more as he latches onto Lucifer, who continues to taunt him with words such as “Nice try, douchebag!” before the camera pans back to Charlie and Vaggie. Adam’s angelic lights finally make a hit and tears the hotel in half, before Lucifer leaves the fight to save Charlie. While Lucifer is distracted, Adam charges at him, but fails as Charlie ends up blocking the hit and returning it as the two Morningstars glare at Adam.

Both are now in their full demon form and throw Adam to the ground whose mask is broken. Lucifer reminds that they’re in his house, proceeding to violently beat Adam, laughing senselessly. Before Lucifer finishes him off, Charlie intervenes, and the two walk off from the injured Adam. Lucifer asks Adam how mercy tastes, before the latter climbs up, absolutely angered as he begins to explain how he’s the first man who should be worshipped by all—just before Niffty stabs Adam, making Lucifer stare in shock as he comments Adam has something sticking out of his body. At the end, after Adam’s death, Lucifer threatens a crying Lute to leave the battlefield with the fellow Exorcists, whom complies.

AdamsApple is considered moreover a crack and joke ship within the fandom, though there is quite a huge following of genuine shippers who enjoy their parallels, animosity, and little dynamics like Lucifer taunting Adam. After the season finale, the ship rose in favorability for the sole reason of Lucifer inadvertently declaring he’s going to fuck Adam. Many fans began to joke that they could “already see the fanfiction and fanart” after the episode released, which proves true as most fan works stem off of this very scene, where it is common to makes AUs or jokes where Hell and Heaven sorted out the war through Lucifer following his threat to Adam. Many Hazbin fans have made jokes that Lucifer is completing the set of getting with Adam’s wives, then Adam himself, common phrases are “Lucifer’s taste is the first humans.” Fans also comment that Adam looked genuinely concerned as if he were contemplating what Lucifer said, and it is common that fans joke how Adam “really went for it” when pouncing at Lucifer directly after, which has proved to be a popular point of comedy in the fandom. Fans also make edits of clipping together Lucifer saying, “I am going to FUCK YOU” followed by Adam in Overture saying, “ So, anyway, then we fucked, and it was awesome. What'd you do this weekend?”

Within fanfiction and fanart their relationship is commonly depicted as having started with a one-sided or sometimes reciprocated attraction from Adam towards Lucifer during the former's time on Eden, sometimes having Adam finding Lucifer to be the most beautiful person in existence; but this relationship soured after Lucifer won over Lilith and later implicitly Eve. In the present setting the most common plot for them involves Adam coming back to existence as a Sinner after his death at Nifty's hands and Lucifer being merciful enough to take him in and protect him from harm all while seeking to get him to reform from his cruel ways or calm down at least, sometimes either for his daughter's sake due to her belief in redemption or out of a desire to be friends or more with Adam again, in these kind of stories Adam starts out as bitter and jealous of Lucifer and highly averse to his affection and mercy but gradually warms up to the King of Hell during their time together until their relationship blossoms. Sometimes they will even bond over how in the end Lilith left them both, making them not-so-different from one another.
