Aether is the main character from the Genshin Impact fandom.
Character[]
Aether is, along with his sister Lumine, playable as the Traveler in the game Genshin Impact. At the beginning of the game, he and his sister get separated by a unknown god. He then wakes up in the new world. If he is chosen by the player, he ends up fishing Paimon out from a lake. He now is searching around Teyvat for his sister with his travel companion, Paimon.
If Lumine is chosen instead, Aether becomes the Prince of the Abyss, as seen with the Abyss mages.

As a protagonist traveler, Aether has a wide fandom since he is the protagonist of the Genshin Impact series. He is generally being considered as the canon MC due to his appearances in the official version trailers for Genshin Impact, as well as the story teaser: "We Will Be Reunited".
Generally, as seen in Western fandoms, Aether's most popular ships are his only family ship, Lumither and only slash ships such as Xiaother, Scaraether and Albether. A reason is that he is considered a "femboy" due to his long-braid hair and his Rising Star outfit. Another reason is the popularity of the "Yaoi and yuri" culture in all HoYoVerse games including Genshin Impact, and thus, all girls that are paired with Aether have mostly their more popular femslash ships. Not to mention that Aether will likely leave Teyvat for good after he has everything done in it. For these reasons, none of Aether's het ships are popular, except on very small fandoms.
