- Faruzan – “Oh, Pardis Dhyai looks pretty scenic at night. Will you take a stroll with me?”
- Aether – “It would by my pleasure.”
- — Faruzan's Hangout
Aezan is the het ship between Aether and Faruzan from the Genshin Impact fandom.
Canon[]
Faruzan is an Akademiya scholar hailing from Haravatat. However, she doesn't appear in any of the Archon Quests and therefore, she woudn't interact with Aether until Nahida is rescued and Scaramouche is defeated.
Lupus Aureus: Cyno's Story Quest[]
Aether meets Faruzan for the first time when she was arguing with Collei about herself being the Madam, having 100 years and therefore, they should treat her as a Madam.
- “Huh? Well, look who we have here... Would you mind explaining to me what has been going on these past few days? I heard you all ran off into the desert and got embroiled in a major catastrophe?”
- — Faruzan
Hangout[]
Aether finds Tighnari and Collei discussing their matters and joins this chat in person.
- “It's complicated, and this isn't the best place to talk about it. We'll fill you in on the details once she arrives. [...] You might have heard about her in Sumeru before. Her name is Faruzan, and she's a very experienced senior researcher [...] but she vanished for a hundred years because of a certain incident. She only returned to the Akademiya after being found in the wilderness a few years ago.”
- — Tighnari
Tighnari asks Aether and Collei to check on Faruzan for him, but he warns that they would fine her difficult to get along with at first. Aether and Collei find Faruzan arguing with someone...
- Nadwah – “Faruzan, I said that you need to give us an answer!”
- Faruzan – “Ah, yes, and did you forget to add "Madam" when you addressed me earlier?”
Collei has a chat with Aether about Faruzan...
- Collei – “That's her, all right... but the person with her doesn't look like a matra.”
- Aether – “She looks so young!”
- Collei – “Shh! She hates it when people call her young!”
And when Aether meets Faruzan in person...
- Faruzan – “Ah, and is the person beside you the legendary Aether?”
- Aether – “Pleasure to meet your acquaintance, Madam.”
- — Oh? I've heard much about you before. In fact, I've been meaning to meet you for a while now.
Wanderings of a Lonesome Shadow[]
If Aether suggmmests that Faruzan should go to Pardis Dhyai, Collei and him will go to ask Faruzan about that. Faruzan tries to ignore the Akademiya, but she considers that she is already forming a good team with Collei.
So, Aether, Faruzan, Collei and Paimon head for Pardis Dhyai, where they find Tighnari. He reveals to Collei and Faruzan that Aether and him saved Karkata, a mechanical life form, as revealed in Tighnari's Story Quest. Faruzan needs some space and says that everyone else must go so she can repair. Meanwhile, Tighnari tells Aether about Faruzan's past when she was trapped for 100 years in the ruins.
Faruzan is possibly going into the desert to explore for a component that Karkata is missing. Along the way, she encounters a Guardian who prevents her from accessing the ruins and they need to ask Reed for permission. Faruzan stands her ground and wants to access the ruins. In the process, she meets Tamini, a Guardian of the Ruins she has known for 100 years. She foils Reed's plan and makes him realize that he activated the "Ruin Wanderer" and shows him his sales schedule. Reed becomes upset by this and no longer wants to listen to the squabbling about his truth, but Tamini awakens and crushes Reed. Everyone else flee.
Aether leaves the desert, leaving Faruzán and depending on whether he wants to tell him the truth or not about Tamini...
One day later, Faruzan brings components back and repairs Karkata. If Aether decided not to tell Tighnari and Collei about Tamini, Faruzan will go outside and thank him personally. She invites him to take a stroll, just the two of them. They enjoy this nocturnal stroll together. Aether, understanding Faruzan's past, makes Faruzan feel that she's back at home again, with this classic "Welcome back".
A Parade of Providence[]
Aether learns that there is an event called Akademiya Extravaganza, where the best students representing their areas compete: Tighnari, Cyno, Kaveh, Faruzan, Layla, and Hat Guy. Upon going to this event, he was immediately assigned as a commentator who can freely walk around following the competitors.
Aether finds Faruzan arguing with Kaveh and Layla. When Paimon states that herself and Aether were assigned as commentators, Faruzan says that she wants Aether to catch her moment of triumph with his Kamera. And also that he should shoot a photo from behind at a lower angle to "capture" her senior's class. Upon Kaveh's claiming that he will win, Faruzan states that they are all children enough to consider challenging her. Faruzan notices that Paimon is curious about Faruzan's reasons to win this competition: she wants to fix her funding issues and new students will knock her door for her Haravatat school.
In the first round of the competition, the contestants catch most butterflies possible across Sumeru City. Aether witnesses how Faruzan and Kaveh have a plan to halt their rivals' progress by making false butterflies as baits. Their plan succedds partially, but Tighnari overcomes this difficult situation by placing an incense that attracts true butterflies to his place, out of the sight of his rivals. Faruzan is placed 3rd since Kaveh agreed to let her win this time despite them being in a draw.
The second round consists in finding disruptors across the Sumeru Desert. This time, Aether witnesses how Faruzan has not high luck this time, since she is digging for the ruins but ends trapped and has to escape, only to find that Cyno and Layla won first and again, is in a draw with Kaveh about finding the last disruptor. Faruzan lets Kaveh this time in 3rd place via agreement.
The third and final round consists in finding a diadem and putting it into a goal, even trying to steal it from the rival that found it first. Aether witnesses Faruzan struggling to find the diadem, but it turned to be in Layla's possesion. Once Faruzan finds Layla, she starts to attack her with her device, but it is futile because Layla protects herself with her Cryo shield thanks to her Cryo Vision. Scaramouche appears from behind, steals the diadem from Layla, ignoring the shield, and damages Faruzan's device before fleeing with the flying power, but ends having a hard fight against Cyno about the diadem. Faruzan's damaged device goes haywire and Kaveh takes this opportunity to grab it, fly and smash into Scaramouche and Cyno's place. Kaveh steals the diadem from Scaramouche, avoids Cyno and finally puts the diadem into the goal, making Faruzan lose the competition.
Aether finally witnesses Faruzan having a chat with Nilou, Dehya and Candace after the competition ends.
An Odd Textual Mystery[]
After Aether finished his adventure in Simulanka, he meets up with Collei, who says that something is going on in Sumeru that is keeping people in high spirits. This leads Aether to find Faruzan inside the Akademiya. Faruzan tells Aether about a boring book that most people from Sumeru are crossing out with their pencils... Aether goes to investigate, leaving Faruzan at the Akademiya.
Chromatic Ode of Candies and Roses[]
In "Give her Sweetness", just as they were preparing another surprise Sabzeruz Festival for Nahida's birthday, a group, consisting of Tighnari, Candace, Kaveh, Faruzan, and Aether, were in Port Ormos testing a surprise carriage. Faruzan is found finishing her mini Carriage and she shows it to everyone. Nahida suddenly appears behind Kaveh and Faruzan and now they are at risk of the surprise being ruined. Fortunately, Aether secretly appeals Nilou for help, and she ends taking her to somewhere else, saving Faruzan and everyone.
In "Give her Memories", after the party ended, everyone in Sumeru gather in front of a Kamera, taking a photo as a memory of this party. Faruzan stands for the photo, next to Candace, who is behind Aether.
Quotes[]
- “She has her own deep understanding of various ruins and machines. If there's a chance, you should talk about them with her. It'll definitely be helpful for your journey”
- — Tighnari
Fanon[]
This ship started out as a rare pairing, due to Faruzan being a new character when she debuted and not appearing in Sumeru Archon Quest. It started to establish itself when Faruzan's Hangout was added, especially in the ending "Welcome Back, Faruzan" which can be obtained when Faruzan and Aether go to the desert and when they come back, they decide that Aether won't say anything about Tamini to Tighnari and Collei, due to the fact that in this ending, Faruzan invites Aether to be alone, just the two of them, walking through Pardis Dhyai at night. Still, this ship had no potential to be popular due to none of Faruzan's voice lines (not even in the Serenitea Pot) saying anything that made it seem like she wants to be closer to Aether, contrary to what happens with Nilou and therefore, it wasn't popular compared to the girls involved in Aether's Swordgirl Harem.
However, it started to gain decent popularity since Citlali came to the Genshin Impact cast and therefore, her ship with Aether, Aelali, started to be very popular throughout Natlan 5.x version. Fans began to speculate that because both Citlali and Faruzan fulfill the new "Old but Young" trope, Faruzan would be Citlali's rival and therefore being possessive of Aether, due to the fact that they both tend to be "madam". They even imagine a situation where Faruzan and Citlali argue in a fun way, especially if it is because of Aether.
It has currently 19 works on AO3, even more than Aelali, which has 13.
