Stephen Ahn (Ahn Suho in the Korean version) was a student at Byuksan Middle School. He is Gray Yeon’s (Yeon Sieun in the Korean version) first friend and the one who reached out to Bryce Oh (Oh Beomseok in the Korean version) to befriend him too. He cares deeply about people and uses prize money from academic competitions to pay off his classmates' lunch fees. He steps in when he sees bullying. When Bryce betrayed Stephen and Gray, he teamed up with Oswald Yang (Yang Seonghun in the Korean version) to bully them. Wanting to protect Gray, Stephen forces the bullies to focus all their attention on him. However, this led to the bullies causing Stephen to fall from the rooftop and end up comatose. His mother later transfers him to a hospital in Gangwon without Gray’s knowledge, leading to the two to be separated until the very end of the series.

Due to Stephen only appearing in flashbacks prior to the final chapter, webtoon fans mainly ship Stephen with Gray. Webtoon fans love how Stephen is extremely protective of Gray and is willing to go against the son of a city representative to protect him. Stephen was also the light in Gray’s world and him falling from the rooftop caused Gray to be traumatized by rooftops. Some popular fanfics that webtoon fans write are Stephen having amnesia after falling from the rooftop. Another AU is Gray falling from the rooftop and becoming comatose instead, causing Stephen to become colder and darker. Another AU that some fans write about is if Stephen died when he fell from the rooftop instead of becoming comatose, which leads to Gray become even crueler and darker than his canon counterpart.
