AiYu is the het ship between Aigis and Yu Narukami from the Persona fandom.
Canon[]
Yu and Aigis are both wielders of the Wild Cards. Aigis inherits Makoto’s Wild Card after his death, and Yu inherits it at the start of his journey when he transfers to Yasogami High in his second year. Yu and Aigis are five years apart from each other. They both value their friends dearly. Aigis restrains her bonds with surviving members of SEES even after Makoto’s death, and Yu bonds with his friends from their Social Links. Unlike Makoto, who Aigis always refers to by his first name, Aigis refers to Yu by his surname instead. In the original English from Arena, Arena Ultimax, Persona Q, and Q2 only, Aigis refers to him by his first name. Yu and Aigis’s relationship must remain platonic because Aigis is still not over Makoto. They respect each other as fellow Persona users and aim to protect and fight by their friend’s sides.
Persona Q/Q2[]
Yu and Aigis met in another dimension that trapped both SEES and the Investigation Team.
If Yu chose Aigis as his destined partner, Aigis would not be happy to be paired with him. Aigis wants to be by Makoto’s side as soon as possible. If the player chooses, “Isn’t this destiny?” Aigis coldly tells Yu that Makoto is the most important to her, not him. She finds it mysterious since she senses something special about him, similar to Makoto. She cannot explain it well. During the wedding photo, she requests Yuu to recreate the commemorative photo they saw. Regardless of the choices, Aigis will always carry Yu. This is because she was analyzing that Yu couldn’t support her weight. Aigis is incapable of falling in love because she is a machine and does not understand the emotion called love. According to her, contact with him causes a slight change in the area near her central system. It’s a mysterious feeling similar to when she touched Makoto. Aigis does ask Yu if he’s in a romantic relationship with one of his female friends. At first, Aigis didn’t think much of it, but a thought crossed her mind as they held hands. She asks herself, “Should a machine like herself be standing by his side?” before apologizing to Yu since she doesn’t know what she’s saying. She thinks she thought these things because Yu has certain similarities to Makoto.
After the final battle, Yu and Aigis return to their respective timelines with their friends, but their memories of each other have been erased twice, as seen in both Shadow of Labyrinth and New Cinema Labyrinth.
Persona 4 Arena[]
Aigis and Yuu are reunited in the real world even though they have no memories of each other from previous events in Shadow of Labyrinth and New Cinema Labyrinth. Both Story Modes notice how they share the power and resonance due to being Wild Card wielders. They reacted differently from each other, which was seen in their quotes. It felt strange for Yuu when his persona resonated with her; Aigis felt similar, except she commented on how Yu reminded him of Makoto. Even though Yu shares the same powers as Makoto, Aigis will not fall in love with him. To Aigis, Makoto is the only person she ever fell for in her heart, and she is not interested in moving on with another person.

AiYu is a combination of Aigis and Yu's first names. AiYu is among the few rarely shown fan shipping in the Persona 3 and 4 fanbase.
