Aimaru is the friend ship between Aigis and Koromaru from the Persona fandom.
Canon[]
Aigis and Koromaru are the only non-human Persona users in SEES. Aigis is the only one who can understand Koromaru’s dog language, so she often translates Koromaru’s words for everyone.
Aigis met Koromaru in July after Koromaru defeated a rogue Shadow off-screen.
For some strange reason, Koromaru is the only one Aigis didn’t crucify like the others when Ikutsuki brainwashed her on November 4th.
In the manga adaptation, Koromaru attacked Aigis with his Persona on November 4th, when Ikutsuki controlled it.
Other Recordings/Social Links/Walks/Link Episodes[]
Koromaru and Aigis are involved in Shinjiro’s recording. Aigis translates Koromaru’s words to Fuuka about Shinjiro’s interest in cooking, and he is not asleep (he was trying to pretend to sleep). They are involved again in the final recording, where Koromaru, Aigis, Yukari, and Fuuka discover a hidden camera in the third-floor lounge. Koromaru and Aigis both notice the hidden camera. At the end of the recording, after Yukari and Fuuka leave, Aigis and Koromaru stay behind to look at the camera.
In Takaya's second link episode, Koromaru begged Aigis to let him walk alone at night. Still, Aigis refused until Makoto returned to the dorm, and he was willing to return him instead.
In Reload, in the final walks with Koromaru before the upcoming battle, Aigis attempts to teach Koromaru to shake. Instead, Koromaru put his paws on Aigis’ head. Aigis asks him if this is a way to shake, which Koromaru barks happily.
The Answer[]
After Aigis awakens to the power of the Wild Card, Aigis can no longer understand Koromaru’s words. Despite losing the ability to translate dog languages, she can understand him somehow.
In the second round, Aigis fights Koromaru alongside Junpei to win the keys. They didn’t want to fight each other, but they had no choice. After Aigis defeats Yukari and Mitsuru, everyone turns into black flames and changes back to normal; Aigis expresses relief to see Koromaru and everyone alright.
Female Route[]
Aigis and Koromaru are both Kotone’s Social Links on her route. They are involved in Shinjiro’s Social Link rank 6, where Shinjiro decides to make everyone meal with Fuuka’s help.
Film[]
Aigis’ interaction with Koromaru is the same as before despite not having many scenes together in 2-4 films.
The Weird Masquerade[]
Aigis can still translate Koromaru’s languages even though he is not a member of SEES, and they interact little.
Persona 4 Arena Ultimax[]
Aigis and Koromaru joined Mitsuru's new organization, the Shadow Operative, three years later. Koromaru, Ken, and Yukari arrive at Inaba to rescue Aigis, Mitsuru, Akihiko, and Fuuka, who an unseen enemy kidnaped.
At the end of P3 story mode, whether Aigis was aware that Koromaru left Shadow Operative with Ken to live everyday life is unknown.
