AkiShinjiHam is the poly ship between Kotone Shiomi, Akihiko Sanada, and Shinjiro Aragaki from the Persona fandom.
Canon[]
Akihiko, Kotone, and Shinjiro are members of SEES. While Akihiko and Kotone attend Gekkoukan High, Shinjiro dropped out two years ago after a tragic incident. Shinjiro and Akihiko are the same age since they grew up in the same orphanage and have known each other for 14 years; Kotone is a year younger than them. While Akihiko meets Kotone first after she joined SEES in April, Shinjiro meets her at the hospital on May 1st. Akihiko and Shinjiro are both Social Links for Kotone’s route only. If Shinjiro’s social link is maxed, he will survive on October 4th, but Kotone and Akihiko will express sadness over Shinjiro’s comatose state.
Social Links[]
The only difference is that Kotone spends more time with Shinjiro than Akihiko due to his Social Link freezing on Rank 7th, and it will be available after October 4th. Akihiko is involved in Shinjiro’s Social Link rank 6 with Kotone, where Shinjiro and Fuuka cook a meal together for everyone for SEES. Shinjiro develops romantic feelings for Kotone through his Social Links without making the correct choices; Akihiko only develops feelings for Kotone if she chooses the right lover flags hidden in his Social Links. Shinjiro won’t confess his feelings for her after his Social Link is maxed; he only admits it in his Extra scene where Kotone persuades him. Kotone has to help Akihiko to figure out that he is in love with her if all the hidden lover flags are triggered.
The Weird Masquerade[]
Shinjiro spends more time with Kotone in Acts 2 and 5. Akihiko does not interact with Kotone when they are alone and shows no interest in her. Shinjiro is the only upperclassman to call Kotone by her first name. Akihiko addresses Kotone by her last name, which shows that he only sees her as a friend.
The first scene together is when Kotone and Akihiko chase after Arcana Hierophant until Shinjiro defeats it by using Akihiko’s Evoker to summon Castor after he saves them and Ken. During the Summer Festival, Kotone witnesses Shinjiro and Akihiko fighting over a game in one of the vendors. They are seen watching the fireworks together with the other members of SEES. The next scene was the October full moon operation where Akihiko holds Shinjiro in his arms while Kotone holds Shinjiro’s hand before he goes comatose after he sacrifices himself to protect Ken from Takaya.
Before the final battle, Kotone and Akihiko heard Shinjiro’s voice at the dorm during the Dark Hour, who gave them some advice and encouragement before his voice faded. It shows how both Kotone, Akihiko along with Ken both missed him greatly.
The final scene where Shinjiro and Akihiko along with the other members of SEES reunited with Kotone (unknown to them, she passed away peacefully).

- Akihiko and Shinjiro are optional, so Kotone can choose one to be by her side in her final moments at the PSP New Game Plus end.

- Kotone knows a way for Shinjiro and Akihiko to stop fighting each other since she has had similar experiences with Shinjiro and Akihiko in her world.
Fanon[]
Akishinako is a well-known polyamory fan shipping in the Persona 3 fanbase. Many fans ship them to either be love rivals for Kotone's love, dormmates after the events of Persona 3, or Kotone enters a polyamory relationship with both of them. Kotone is the only girl that both Akihiko and Shinjiro are attracted to. They often seen in fan art and fanfiction in a healthy relationship. Akihiko and Shinjiro are either portray them as straight or bisexual due to their strong relationship and they grew up in the same orphanage.
