Akinato is the slash ship between Makoto Yuki and Akihiko Sanada from the Persona fandom.
Canon[]
Makoto and Akihiko are a year apart even though they don’t often hang out, neither after school nor on weekends.
Makoto officially met Akihiko on April 20th, when he decided to join SEES. On May 1st, he visited the hospital to see Akihiko with Junpei and Yukari. During the June full moon operation, Makoto, Akihiko, and Junpei decided to rescue Fuuka, who was trapped in Tartarus.
During the second day of the Yakushima trip, Makoto, Akihiko, and Junpei participate in Operation Babe Hunt to hit on girls at the beach but fail.
During the Kyoto hot spring incident, Makoto has the option of helping Akihiko, Junpei, and Ryoji escape before the girls catch them.

Link Episode[]
Akihiko’s Link Episode starts in late May when Makoto can spend time with him. In the first episode, Akihiko invites Makoto for a meal until two of Akihiko’s fans want to have a picture with him, but he refuses. Afterward, Akihiko and Makoto spotted the identical girls from before who were being assaulted by punks. Akihiko and Makoto decide to save them. In the second episode, both of them encounter the thugs from the other day, but this time, they bring their boss, who challenges Akihiko to fight him and his gang, but Akihiko refuses. After returning, they found many items Akihiko’s foster parents sent. Makoto suggested Akihiko share them with everyone. In the third episode, Akihiko makes pancakes for everyone with Makoto’s help since he has no idea how to make them. Akihiko is willing to open up and reveal his childhood past to Makoto.
Film[]
In the second movie, during the battle between Arcana Fortune and Arcana Strength, Akihiko begs Makoto twice to take down Arcana Fortune, who hesitates to defeat it.
In the third movie, on the second day of the Kyoto trip, Makoto finds Akihiko trying on a massage chair. He invites Makoto to play ping pong together.
Weird Masquerade[]
Akihiko spends more time with Sakuya than his counterpart in Acts 1-4.
In Act 2, he and Sakuya get together to go after Arcana Hierophant, which almost attacks Ken until Shinjiro saves his life by using Akihiko’s Evoker to summon Castor. During the Yakuahima trip, Sakuya and Akihiko, along with Junpei, start off hitting on girls at the beach but fail miserably.
In Act 3, during the hot spring incident, Akihiko has no problem abandoning him. While he, Junpei, and Ryoji make their escape, Junpei refuses to leave him. The following day, Akihiko and Junpei get mad at Sakuya for being the only guy not to get caught by the girls.
Fanon[]
Akinato is a less-known fanship of the Persona 3 fanbase. Makoto and Akihiko don’t often hang out outside the main story. Despite their lack of interaction, many fans still shipped them together, as seen in fan art and fiction.
