Alene is the slash ship between Gene and Alex from the Super 4 fandom.
Canon[]

They are the two males from the team and seem to have a special understanding when it comes to plan on how to solve certain issues. Their big differences include that Alex is unfamiliar with technology and Gene isn't physically skillful. Even though Gene fighting skills leave a lot to be desired, he has proved that his technology can be very helpful in order to calculate risks and help into tight situations. Since Alex (just like Ruby and Twinkle) are unfamiliar with technology, Gene has to explain and prove them often that technology is not magic. As the series passes, Alex starts becoming more familiarized with Technology bit by bit and when Gene is not piloting the Chameleon (which usually always does), he mostly trusts Alex to take on the commandments since he knows he takes on seriously everything he does.
They might have differences at first such as the setting of their homelands but Alex recognizes how intelligent Gene is and Gene knows that Alex is the leader of the group and how encouraging can be to him and his friends whenever they need a little push to move forward with their plans.
Moments[]
- When Alex fell asleep through a spell, Gene carried him on his back to place him safely inside the Chameleon.
- Although they always get on well, Gene can sometimes be a bit insensible as he proudly said that Alex's "primitive castle is no match for technology" in Season 2 Episode "Worlds Apart", much to bring Alex annoyance.
- In Season 1 Episode "Some Like It Magical" they wore fake fairy wings in order to infiltrate within the fairies.
Fanon[]
Alene is a decently respected pairing in the fandom. A less popular ship compared to Geneby and Alenkle, but some fans still like their pairing since they respect each other a lot. The LGBTQ+ theme appeals to a majority who may be a candidate in said category. Human members of the Super 4 organization are often shipped together respectively, Alene finding themselves paired alongside Rubynkle. It's not uncommon to descry works of them all in a polygamous relationship, whether romantic, sexual, or platonic.
Alene immediately falls on the Opposites Attract spectrum, filling in the subgenre of Red Oni, Blue Oni. Oftentimes fan content is canon-compliant and depicted Alex as the dominating partner in the relationship, whether that be strength or rank-wise. They're easily comparable to Geneby, for Alex and Ruby are analogues characters. Gene's cool demeanor often clashes with Alex's confident leadership appeals to many followers. The intelligence barrier invokes a generational gap, though not solely referring to chronicle age.
This factor provokes a setting between two different worlds, and despite their major contrast Alene is a formidable duo. Nonetheless continuing to adhere to Opposites Attract. Fanfictions are prominent and traceable on sites such as AO3 and Wattpad. Fan arts accompany them, DeviantArt a trustworthy source for most Super 4 content.
