Alice & Klee is the family ship between Alice and Klee from the Genshin Impact fandom.
Canon[]
Klee is a playable Pyro character in Genshin Impact, known for her explosive enthusiasm, curiosity, and unwavering loyalty to the Knights of Favonius. She is the daughter of Alice, an eccentric, long-lived, and extraordinarily powerful adventurer, who is also known as the founder of the Hexenzirkel. Klee takes after her mother in many ways — especially in her love of exploration, inventions, and explosives — much to the concern of the Knights of Favonius, under whose care she was left. Entrusted to Albedo and the Knights when Alice departed for dangerous travels, Klee continues to live in Mondstadt, waiting for her mother's return and dreaming of the day when she can be a great adventurer like her.
Alice, though not yet physically present in the game, has made several appearances and left behind clear traces of her influence and presence. She is introduced as a non-playable character (NPC) and a legendary figure in Teyvat. Using the codename “A,” she is a polymath with deep expertise in alchemy, astrology, engineering, medicine, magic, and more. She is the author of the Teyvat Travel Guide, has personally narrated Aloy’s character trailer, and is referred to by Albedo as a “near-omnipotent sorceress.”
Alice is at least 500 years old, as inferred from her affiliation with long-lived beings, and she claims to have explored the entire world—and possibly beyond. In Aloy’s trailer narration, Alice references the “Rubicon,” implying cosmic or world-bending experience. Despite her eccentricity and occasional recklessness, her magical prowess is unparalleled — Diluc Ragnvindr suggests only she and Venti could have orchestrated the events at the Golden Apple Archipelago.

Klee's "blossoming starlight" theme outfit and Alice's outfit similarities.
Her design is partially revealed in the Nod-Krai Preview Teaser - "Prelude to Moonlight", where she appears in a human form for the first time, though only from the neck down. Her outfit bears a strong resemblance to Klee’s “Blossoming Starlight” costume. Her elf-like ears, known to be inherited by Klee, are not visible in the teaser, likely hidden by her hair or the angle.[1]
Klee holds deep admiration and love for her mother, whose influence shapes much of her worldview and behavior.
Klee's Character Story 5[]
In spite of this, Alice has been an absent mother for most of Klee’s life. According to Klee’s Character Story 5, Alice left Klee in the care of Albedo and the Knights of Favonius when she and her husband departed to explore a dangerous, faraway place. Nevertheless, the bond between mother and daughter remains strong. Klee idolizes her mother, cherishing memories of learning how to craft explosives, select fuses, and even bring down cliffs together — all while occasionally getting scolded by Huffman. These moments are treasured by Klee and have shaped her deeply, inspiring her to become someone her mother would be proud of. Alice's legacy is also embedded in Klee’s creative side, particularly in her approach to fireworks and inventions.
"Dodoco"[]
One of the most tangible gifts from Alice to her daughter is Dodoco — a hand-crafted companion doll and Klee’s very first friend. Alice created Dodoco and attached it to Klee’s four-leaf clover badge on her backpack, telling her daughter that it would ensure she was never alone. Dodoco is a representation of Alice’s love and thoughtfulness, serving as a comforting presence in Klee’s daily life and further reinforcing the emotional connection between them, even during long separations.
Vision[]
Klee’s Pyro Vision appeared unexpectedly during her first solo explosion project. She’d constructed a bomb “bigger than super big” in a small workshop, which ended up blowing everything to ashes—revealing her Vision. The divine endorsement came when she was very young, likely due to a combination of explosive talent, inherited traits from Alice, and her joyful innocence. Klee treasures the Vision and vows never to give it up.
Klee's Birthday Mail[]
Klee’s birthday mails offer even more glimpses into their mother-daughter relationship. In the mail titled “Summer!”, Klee shares that she spent summer vacation with her mother, enjoying beautiful sights and fun adventures. Alice even gave Klee a booklet she couldn’t read, suggesting her ongoing intention to pass on her knowledge and worldviews to her daughter. In the mail titled “A Happy, Happy Day!”, Klee recalls something her mom once said — that sharing joy makes it grow — and it becomes the driving force behind Klee’s enthusiasm for wishing “Happy Birthday” to everyone she meets.
Klee's Voice-Over: About Parents[]
- “My mom is an adventurer, and my dad’s a traveler. I grew up listening to stories of their adventures… sometimes I even get to go along, too! But now… they’re off adventuring far away. Before she left, Mom gave me a talking toy for company… she’s so amazing.”
This voice line gives a rare and direct reference to Klee’s parents. It confirms that both her mother (Alice) and father are adventurers and travelers, and that Klee used to accompany them on adventures. It also supports the canonical fact that Alice is currently away, having left behind Dodoco to keep Klee company.

Fanon[]
The mother-daughter relationship between Alice and Klee is widely loved in the Genshin Impact fandom due to Alice’s strong lore relevance. As the author of the Teyvat Travel Guide, a founding member of the Hexenzirkel, and one of the most powerful and eccentric characters mentioned in-game, Alice is frequently referenced in Klee’s voicelines, character stories, Vision story, and various event narratives, strengthening their connection.
Despite Alice not appearing in the main storyline yet, her love and care for Klee are made clear through her actions — such as creating Dodoco to keep Klee company and entrusting her to Albedo and the Knights of Favonius for safety. Some fans criticize Alice as being a negligent mother for leaving Klee behind, but these claims are generally disputed, as the lore shows that Alice purposefully left Klee in Mondstadt to protect her from the dangers of her and her husband’s ongoing adventure.
Following the "Nod-Krai Preview Teaser", where Alice’s physical appearance is partially revealed for the first time, many fans have pointed out how much Klee resembles her mother. This led to a popular fan joke that Klee’s father “didn’t fight back against Alice’s strong genes,” humorously implying that Alice’s features completely overpowered his.
Interestingly, some Genshin players remain unaware that Klee has both a mother and a father, due to the limited information about her father in-game and was only once mentioned in Klee's "About Parents" voiceline. Because Genshin Impact's community tends to favor same-gender ships, some fans jokingly — or seriously — claim that Alice’s husband is either deceased or that Klee was created through magic or alchemy, much like how Rhinedottir created Albedo. However, this is easily debunked by Klee’s voiceline “About Parents,” where she directly mentions both her mother and her father as adventurers currently traveling far away together.
Fans who support Alice as a mother — and as a character with a complete family — often defend the canon depiction, appreciating that Klee is one of the few characters in the game who has loving parents. Given the recurring theme of abandonment or orphanhood among many other characters (e.g. Razor, Shenhe, Albedo, Wanderer), Alice and her husband’s continued presence in Klee’s life — even from afar — is seen as a rare and cherished example of a wholesome family dynamic in Teyvat.
