Alihun is the slash ship between Ali Abdul and Seong Gi-hun from the Squid Game fandom.
Canon[]
Gi-hun and Ali first meet in Red Light, Green Light; the starting game in Squid Game. Their first interaction in the show is when Ali saves Gi-hun from getting caught, stopping him from falling by grabbing the back of his jacket. After that, they both cross the line just as the countdown finishes, narrowly missing being killed. When the remaining players are returned to the lobby, Gi-hun and Ali sit by eachother, and Gi-hun thanks him for saving his life in the game. When the game continues, Ali and Gi-hun meet eachother again. Gi-hun brings up the idea that they should start a team, which leads to an alliance between Ali, Il-nam, Sang-woo, and Gi-hun.
After Ali wins in the honeycomb game, he is seen waiting by the door with Sang-woo. When he catches sight of Gi-hun and Il-nam, he is relieved, saying that he was worried for them. As the night falls and the lights go out, a brawl starts within the room eveeybody is sleeping in. Gi-hun is attacked by Player 413, and is nearly struck by a metal pole. Ali stops the blow, grabbing the metal pole to block the attack while Sang-woo starts to hit 413. Ali also protects his team with a large metal pole when Deok-su tries to go after them, detering them with the object.
The night after the brawl, the team agree to guard the fort to make sure they’re safe throughout the night. Ali volunteers to go first, and Gi-hun expresses his concern, telling Ali to wake him up as soon as he starts to feel tired so he can get some sleep. The following day, everyone is asked to go into pairs for the next challenge. Gi-hun is about to ask Sang-woo, but stops when he notices Sang-woo asking Ali. Ali is hesistant, looking at Gi-hun as he watches them, but Gi-hun reassures him that it’s fine.
Fanon[]
Alihun is a rarepair in the Squid Game fandom, mainly due to the show only having small interactions between them. For fans that do ship them, it’s usually because of how Ali saves Gi-hun, as well as how kind they are to each other throughout the show. However, some are not a fan of the ship as it is shown that Ali is married. Some find them to be a good pair for each other because of how caring they can be, with Ali protecting his group and Gi-hun trying to defend people who aren’t even in his team. The ship also faces other rival ships like 457, Aliwoo, Sangihun, and AliWife the ship between Ali and his wife.
Though the two's bond and relationship is still loved in the fandom even if there's no major shipping happening between the two.
