Canon[]
Chapter 0: The Nightmare Knight's Return[]
Almond and Peridot first meet when Peridot walks in on Almond and Sir Carrot arguing. Upon Peridot asking to retrieve the disaster stone they are in possession of, Almond decides to pick a fight with her. After dodging some of Peridot's attacks, Cucumber passes the disaster stone to Almond. Peridot says that they can't dodge forever, in to which Almond agrees and attacks her, making her fall from her magic wand that she was riding. Almond asks if she still wants the disaster stone, in which Peridot gets up and tries to say she is not done fighting yet. However, she is interrupted when Almond just hands over the disaster stone anyway. Peridot takes it, however clarifies that she is not just taking it because she needs her pity, to which Almond does not believe. Flustered, Peridot tells Almond that "this isn't over", and flies out of the room.
Chapter 1: Disaster in Paradise[]
Peridot flies in on seeing Almond threatening to eat the bars of a cage she is stuck in. She sarcastically tells Almond not to "chew too hard," as she "wouldn't want her to break a tooth." Peridot then tells Almond she thought checking up on Splashmaster would be a fun way to kill time, but never dreamed of seeing Almond there "trapped like a big, stupid rat." Almond tells her she would not be stuck in there for long, though Peridot questions her and asks about her escape plan. Frantically, Almond replies saying she is working on it, though Peridot laughs at her. Peridot tells Almond that Splashmaster getting to finish her off her makes her a little jealous, then trailing off and correcting herself, saying it makes her really jealous. After being annoyed by Splashmaster's antics, she tells Almond that she "better beat up this dumb oaf" so that she can "beat her up later." Peridot has a faint blush on her face while saying this. Almond sarcastically answers "sure," and Peridot flies away, wailing. Sir Carrot comments that Peridot is "quite the odd girl," to which Almond replies "no kidding."
Chapter 2: Makin' Some Noise[]
Peridot enters the room after attacking Bacon, saying "Sorry, Prince Crescendork... But your knight and I have some unfinished business." Almond notes that Peridot "just can't stay away," causing Peridot to tell her to shut up in embarrassment. Peridot then notes that not defeating Almond at the Ripple Kingdom was a good idea, now that she gets to do so in front of an audience. Almond tells Peridot "you wish," but is suddenly interrupted by what is believed to be Count Legato. Almond, in response to "Legato" being upset his play was turned into a joke, says "It was already a joke, you creepy nerd." Peridot is seen in the background laughing at this. Almond gets ready to attack Legato and his instrument army, but her sword ends up breaking due to being a prop. As a result, Almond almost gets hurt, but what is about to attack her suddenly gets turned into stone, specifically green stone. Almond looks up, and Peridot is there. Almond smiles at her, and Peridot flies away embarrassed, repeatedly saying "I MISSED."
Chapter 3: The Title Match[]
During a contest of who gets to become the next "Princess R," Almond is put up again a girl named Dahlia, who decides to recite a "creepy spell." However, this "creepy spell" is suddenly interrupted as she is turned into stone by Peridot, who had previously disguised as a participant named Marigold. Peridot, turning to Almond, clarifies that she is not here for the contest, but for her. She quickly realizes what she just said, and starts to blush. Her embarrassment is even further prolonged when Lord Cabbage announces that Peridot "flew all the way from Caketown just to see Almond," and calls her desperate. This throws Peridot into a fit, ending in him being turned into stone.
Almond, thinking her father was lost forever, scolds Peridot for what she did. However, Peridot makes it clear that she just went easy on him, and that the stone will wear off in in a few minutes. Almond then light-heartedly says that she knew Peridot was "chicken," and the two get into a short, yet friendly play-fight, in which Almond teases Peridot when she makes stone flowers, asking if they are for her. Almond calls Peridot's entrance "pretty cool," to which puts the latter into a wistful expression, asking her if that is what she really thinks. However, it turns out to just be successful attempt of letting her guard down, in which Almond tells Peridot that she will never seriously beat her.
After Princess Nautilus, Peridot, and Commander Caboodle reunite with Almond, Cucumber, and Sir Carrot, Peridot makes an effort to ask Almond if she is "ready to pick up where they left off. However, Almond, in response, asks if she knows her. This puts Peridot at a loss for words. She then calmly exclaims that she "hates this," and partially turns a tree to stone. Almond then tells Peridot that what she did was "really cool," which makes Peridot smile.
When the Nightmare Knight tells Peridot to come back home with him, Peridot looks over to Almond, turns back to the Nightmare Knight, and exclaims that she will go home when she feels like it. This fails, though, and she is taken away in a bubble. This prompts Almond to ask if Peridot is really on his (the Nightmare Knight's) side.

Peridot has a dream starting with her being surprised of Almond remembering something. Almond replies, asking her how she could ever forget such a thing, as it is revealed the two are getting married. However, before Peridot can say anything, a monochromatic evil giant of Queen Cordelia crashes in to mock her for marrying a hero, and failing to do evil.
Chapter 4: Mismastered[]
As Peridot intrudes Quartzton, Queen Sapphire asks who she is. Peridot says that she doesn't give her name to "losers," causing Almond to say "Hi Peridot" to her. Peridot is about to say "hi" back, though she realizes what happened, then yells, in which Almond calls her a "loser." The heroes decide to split up, with Sir Carrot and Princess Ametrine being together, and Cucumber, Nautilus, and Almond together. Cucumber asks Almond if she wants to go with Sir Carrot and Princess Ametrine, to which she declines, since she thinks that "Peridot will flip out" if she does not show up.
Later Almond asks Peridot if she has any ideas of what to do with Thebestmaster, in which Peridot asks if she just "begged for" her help. Peridot boasts on how Almond "needs" her "genius," ignoring Almond clarifying that all she asked for was an idea. After Peridot fails in her attempt to help, Cucumber decides to try. Unfortunately for him, his spell puts a Punisher Pumice costume on him, much to Peridot and Almond's delight. The two fawn over this and put their hands together, realizing that they both watch Pumice. Cucumber later needs to act as Pumice, and Peridot and Almond help him out by reciting how Pumice introduces herself together, and also help by suggesting spells from the show to do. Though they aren't very helpful in the end when Cucumber tries to find out what Pumice does to seal her enemies.
Almond later tells Peridot that she never would have thought Peridot would like Punisher Pumice, and says that it's "awesome" that she does. Peridot is flustered by this, and tells her that she is "just lucky" that she has "good taste." Almond goes over how big of a fan she was, and how she would watch every episode up until their quest started. Peridot at first uses this as an opportunity to mock her, exclaiming that she will miss the episode that will happen later, though she realizes how hurt Almond looks and says that she can tell her what happens later if she wants. Almond asks if Peridot really would and thanks her, hugging her in the process. Peridot blushes at this action, and becomes even more red once Almond says "You really are cool" to her. Almond does note that Peridot's "Super Peridot Stone Seal" could be improved, in which Peridot replies that she was "just warming up." Before she leaves, Peridot says bye to Almond, asking her to hang out. In response, Almond fondly waves at her.
Later, Almond, Cucumber, and Nautilus go to return the wand to the studio that made the show Almond and Peridot watch. They meet the actors, in which one of them, Bacon, tells Almond that she should have came by earlier as her "girlfriend" was there to get an autograph. This "girlfriend" referring to Peridot. Bacon also adds that this "girlfriend" of Almond's "screamed and ran away" when she asked how Almond was. Almond is not amused by this though.
Reader Questions[]
Upon being asked what Peridot really thinks of the heroes in a bonus where the characters answer questions from readers, Peridot answers with "She's dumb." "She" referring to Almond. Peridot gets embarrassed and corrects herself, saying "They're dumb."
Peridot Facts[]
In Peridot Fact 1, Peridot is discussing what she will say to Almond with Queen Cordelia, but makes a grammar mistake in which she uses "me and" instead of "and I." Queen Cordelia corrects her on it, in which she remembers a moment to when she had already incorrectly used it (specifically before she flew out the room on her and Almond's first meeting.) She freaks out, and asks if Almond is going to think she is dumb.
Though Peridot did say that she did not expect Almond to be there when she went to go check on Splashmaster, this turns out to be a lie. In Peridot Fact 2, it is revealed she did not even want to go, until the Nightmare Knight told her that his servant has captured "the hero's younger sister." The "hero's younger sister" being Almond.
The Rise and Fall of Super Peridot[]
Peridot has a dream in which she turns the stars into peridot as a surprise for Almond. Unfortunately for her, Almond points out how turning things into peridot is the only magic she can do, and tells her that "one-trick ponies are so boring." Peridot wakes up from this, and goes to the Nightmare Knight, asking him if she is a "one-trick pony." The Nightmare Knight asks if someone has called her that, to which Peridot asks him if Almond would be right if she did call her that.
Book Exclusive Content[]
In The Melody Kingdom book, a contest featuring almonds (the nut) is being held. Thinking it was actually about Almond (the hero), Peridot makes her entrance and mocks what she thinks is her. King Kelp informs Peridot that the contest has nothing to do with Almond, causing her to become incredibly embarrassed, provoking a tantrum.
Behind the Scenes[]
On Twitter, Gigi D.G. joked about people talking about how "Peridot and Almond are finally canon," saying "my friend... i have news about the entirety of cucumber quest up to this point." [sic] [1]
In another tweet, Gigi D.G. advertised Cucumber Quest as being "about many things, including being kind of a crummy villain with a transparent crush on the good guy." This, obviously referring to Peridot's crush on Almond. The post included images of several Almidot moments throughout the comic.[2]
Fanon[]
Almidot sailed as a result of Peridot's very obvious crush on Almond. This, along with the many times Almond has teased Peridot throughout the story. One pairing that is shipped along with this is Sea Cucumber, the ship between Almond's brother, Cucumber, and Princess Nautilus.
Some people have even compared the ship to Lumity, with them both including an initially antagonistic green-haired witch (before Amity dyed her hair) who has a crush on their brown-haired rival. Another comparison between the two is that both pairings have a favorite in-universe media they both enjoy; Lumity with The Good Witch Azura, and Almidot with Pretty Protector Punisher Pumice. Similarly, though less common, people have also drawn comparisons to Diakko, another pairing with a green-haired witch with her brown haired rival.
On Tumblr, a user by the name of "spike-the-goblin" decided to host "Almodot Week 2022," an event running from June 27 to July 3.[3]
