- “I went to see you so I could save you, but I ended up causing the power to awaken... That's why I made up my mind. I'd do anything to protect you. Even... even if it meant you'd hate me for it... You're all I have in the world...”
- — Metis, Persona 3 FES: The Answer
Android Sisters is the family ship between Aigis and Metis from the Persona fandom.
Canon[]
Metis manifests Aigis’ rejected human emotions after Makoto’s death. Aigis first met Metis when she started attacking her friends, who couldn’t fight back due to a lack of Evokers and weapons. She states the reason she hurt them was to protect her. When Aigis refuses to break them further, Metis fights her. During the first boss against Metis, she hesitated to fight Aigis for some reason. She will often beg her to stop resisting. After the fight, Metis comments on how strong Aigis is; she activates her Orgia Mode to knock her out of commission before she attacks Ken. Aigis’s strong determination to protect her friends awakens Makoto’s Wild Card ability, and her persona transforms into Orpherus, where she unknowingly defeats Metis with her newfound power. When Aigis was unconscious, Metis suggested that Aigis’ friends put armor on her so she could wake up and temporarily repair her body.
After Aigis regains consciousness, she tells others to free Metis, who is chained to a chain, since she won't let them. Aigis has a hard time trusting Metis because she hurt her friends. When she was considering leaving Metis, she became scared of thoughts of being alone. She apologized to Aigis for how she acted and promised she wouldn’t hurt her or her friends again. After SEES leaves to get their equipment and weapons, Metis asks Aigis if she can call her sister, which Aigis happily accepts. Throughout Abyss of Time, Metis only interacts with Aigis and becomes very attached to her.
After SEES split up thanks to Yukari breaking them apart, Metis becomes the only party member to assist Aigis in the battle of the keys. After Akihiko and Ken were defeated, Aigis became so hurt that Metis lied to her that no one would get hurt. When Metis shows no care about what happens to Aigis’ friend if he dies from their flames burning out, Aigis coldly tells Metis not to call her sister anymore. Metis expresses sadness and asks her if she hates her now; Aigis doesn’t say anything but looks disappointed. After Junpei and Koromaru are defeated, Metis stops Aigis from giving up and hands over her key to Yukari and Mitsuru after she is tired of hurting her friends. Metis reveals she has no memories of where she came from. The only thing she remembers is protecting her sister, and if something terrible happens to her, she will die. It shows that Metis doesn’t want Aigis to die since she is the only sister she has left. Aigis comforts Metis after she has a mental breakdown.
At the Velvet Room, Metis returns to Aigis’ heart, and Aigis becomes whole again after accepting her.
Reload[]
When Metis witnesses Aigis awakening to the power of the Wild Card, she immediately turns her attention on Aigis and attempts to attack her again. She is overpowered and defeated by Orpheus.
Fanon[]
Android sister is the rarest family fanship in the Persona 3 fanbase. It is due to Metis not showing up in any Persona 3 remakes and how the epilogue has been adapted two times. There is hardly any fan shipping between Aigis and Metis.
On AO3, there are currently nine works.
