Angelliot is the het ship between Angela Moss and Elliot Alderson from the Mr. Robot fandom.

Canon[]

Elliot and Angela were childhood friends who lost their parents to the Washington Township Leak caused by E Corp's negligence, which resulted in their parents dying from cancer.

As they grew up, after Elliot was removed from his previous job due to a breakdown in the server room, Angela got him a job at All Safe. She asks him why he didn't show up at her birthday party, which he answers he was caught up with something. It is shown he has a huge crush on her, but can't say it yet because she is dating their co-worker Ollie. Elliot had earlier hacked into his account to find out more information about him, especially the fact he is cheating on her with another woman. Elliot wanted to tell Angela but decided it's better he doesn't ruin the relationship if he tattles.

Later at night, Angela calls him to the All Safe office to help with the rootkit hack occurring towards E Corp. The next day, Angela arrives at Elliot's apartment complex to get high and watch Back to the Future with him, but it doesn't happen when she sees he had a one-night stand with his neighbor Shayla.

Elliot and Angela are at the meeting with E Corp along with their boss Gideon Goddard, discussing about the rootkit attack. Terry dismisses Angela from the meeting for no reason despite Elliot's pleas to let her stay since she knows about what happened, but Colby, being a misogynist, needs someone more technical. This angers Elliot that they would do this to her so he switches the files to frame him for the fsociety hack. Angela isn't happy with Elliot defending her, telling him he should let her lose next time, which shows that she doesn't like it when people stick up for her which would mark her as a coward. They end up hugging and are about to kiss before they are interrupted by a news about Colby's arrest.

The next day, Angela and Ollie are walking outside of E Corp when they run into Elliot. Ollie tries to invite Elliot on a double date with Angela, which embarrasses the latter since she told him about Shayla. Elliot abruptly leaves after he sees the "Men In Black", claiming he has to take care of his dog at home, Angela responds that she didn't know about a dog. Back in their apartment, Angela mentions she is worried about Elliot's recent behaviour to Ollie, who unbeknownst to her puts the infected CD Cisco sold them, which gives Cisco access to webcams.

At Gideon's dinner party, Angela and Elliot talk about their childhood memories when they're interrupted by the news about Colby's involvement in the Washington Township Leak. After finding out that her accounts are hacked because of Ollie getting blackmailed, she went to Elliot's apartment for help but finds he is not there and decides to hang out with Shayla for sometime. Later, she goes to Elliot for advice for the lawsuit against E Corp, but unbeknownst to her, he is trapped by Fernando Vera's goons to help break him out of prison to save Shayla. He tells her to just trust in herself, saying that he believes in her and that she will do what's right.

A month after Shayla's death, Elliot meets up with Angela asking her about why she is being blackmailed, Angela calls him out for being aloof for weeks especially when she needed him the most and that he is a different person now, which makes her miss the old times.

Later after Elliot has a breakdown after finding out fellow fsociety member Darlene is actually his sister, the latter calls Angela to help looking for him. At the museum, Angela lashes out at Darlene, blaming her for Elliot's mental state, possibly out of jealousy. Darlene tries to calm her down and makes her remember that Elliot has helped them multiple times and they need to help him in return, but Angela doesn't care and decides to let Darlene be on her own to find him.

They later make up and decide to look for him, where they find him near the graveyard having a breakdown when he realises that the fsociety leader Mr. Robot is his split personality and he has DID. Angela reassures Elliot he will be fine, but before she hugs him and leaves, she tells Elliot she envies him because she wishes she could talk to her mother. Unfortunately, their relationship would begin to slowly get tarnished especially after Mr. Robot kickstarts 5/9 with Tyrell, which causes Elliot to let himself get arrested and Angela joins E Corp when Colby hires her.

In Season 2, we see Elliot and Angela struggling with their own issues.

Elliot is trying to subdue Mr. Robot in prison just to stop him from doing more damage and Angela is slowly letting the power get to her head when she ends up dropping the lawsuit against E Corp, believing she feels respected and valued there, which implies that we will see her true colors soon in the series.

While he is sleeping, he dreams of a better future where he and Angela are happy.

In one of the days, she meets Elliot in prison where they reminiscent about the good times they had and Angela tells him she's been taking good care of his pet fish Qwerty. and Elliot even tries to tell her that he just wanted to make himself a normal person for her before he got out.

Later, after rejecting Ollie from recording her for the FBI over Gideon's murder, Angela decides to join Darlene and fsociety in hacking the FBI using the femtocell. After the successful hack, Angela's jealousy towards Elliot and Darlene's abilities is slowly beginning to simmer when she finds out that they were behind fsociety, especially the 5/9 hack, making her feel like she was undermined by them, when in reality, it was not the case.

After Elliot got out of prison, Angela was interrogated by FBI agent Dom in her apartment. She then texted Elliot to meet her in the subway and asks him why did he start fsociety. Elliot, already being stressed out over his guilt of how much he put his loved ones at risk because of him, tells Angela he didn't want to involve her in this mess. Angela, feeling defeated about taking down E Corp, tells Elliot that she will confess to the femtocell hack to the FBI, but this will all come back to him.

Angela then asks him about a breakdown he had when they were kids at Queens museum, whether he saw his father back then. Believing that he is following Mr. Robot's orders, she tells him to not let him trick himself into working with him, when in reality he was trying to stop him. They later have their first kiss on the subway before they part ways, but Angela ends up being picked up by a mysterious couple who takes her to Whiterose. Whiterose ends up corrupting her into committing Stage 2 to see her mother again with an unknown machine.

Later that night, Irving breaks into Angela's apartment to inform her that Elliot was shot by Tyrell Wellick, which worries her and asks to see him. Irving reassures her he will be fine but first she needs to respond to a call from Tyrell to tell him that he did what he had to do. While Elliot is in surgery for his stomach wound, Angela reveals to Tyrell about Elliot's DID and finally gets the idea to psychologically abuse him for Stage 2 to release Mr. Robot.

This eventual causes Angela to let her jealousy and envy towards Elliot being the Chosen One to take down E Corp get the better of her and decides to betray him out of spite. When Mr. Robot probes her about this, she is shown to be really remorseless about her actions, even when she knows that it will hurt Elliot, but she doesn't care anymore about him and it's clear she only cared about herself and her vengeance.

Angela doesn't take it well when she finds out that Elliot has been rerouting paper records of E Corp to 71 other facilities. She sells his actions out to Tyrell and Irving and has him fired and traps him in her apartment as a punishment for his interference.

On the day of Stage 2, after she has Elliot removed from E Corp, she proceeds to complete the task given by the Dark Army to give them access to the buildings. After it's done, Angela realises what has she made herself complicit to, especially after she got two innocent people killed. When Elliot confronts her and calls her out for manipulating him, Angela decides to blame Elliot for everything that happened, claiming that this is all his fault since he started 5/9 just to absolve herself of any guilt in her actions and abandons him in a last effort to taunt him, before Elliot leaves to stop Stage 2. However, it's too late for him to stop as it already happened in the 71 buildings he sent the paper records to and also because of Angela selling it out to them.

This causes Angela to go into a massive downward spiral where she believes that her actions were for nothing as she believes she can bring them back and it's even evident that she has forgotten about Elliot completely and isn't ready to admit he was right, as shown in a deleted scene where Mr. Robot as Elliot visits her to find Irving's location and she still sees him as Mr. Robot now.

3 weeks later, Angela and Elliot have completely fallen out since the attacks and refuse to speak to each other, blaming each other for how the things transpired between them.

However, after Elliot is dissuaded from killing himself via overdose by Trenton's brother Mohammed hanging out with him, he decides to give Angela a second chance, when he visits her in her apartment and he talks about how they wished they would run away together and they said that no matter what happens, they will be okay.

However, any hopes of them reconciling and making peace were tarnished when Elliot tried to get Angela out of her delusion of Whiterose bringing everything back, even trying to tell her that she manipulated her using her mom's death. It got worse when Angela saw Leon in his apartment, waiting to pick Elliot up for a Dark Army meeting. This completely enrages Angela as this proves to be a last straw for her, ending up with her falsely accusing Elliot of betraying her to stop Whiterose and cutting ties with him for good, and that too for something he wasn't even responsible for.

Later, after Price tells her that Whiterose lied to her about the machine which made her complicit in the deaths of thousands of people, which made Angela finally admit her guilt. But this ends up being for nothing as she still went back to her bad habits of being determined to take down Whiterose all by herself, meaning she was concerned more about the machine rather than the fact she had to make it up to Elliot and Darlene, the people she hurt the most in her rampage. But Whiterose overhears this and executes her.

Angela died with the only thing she cared about: power, vengeance and her chance to see her mother.

This angers Elliot that now he is more than determined to take down Whiterose, and partially because Angela chose to die because of her ego, recklessness and pride and abandoning both him and Darlene. But Darlene ended up taking in all the grief and angst over her death.

Later in Season 4, after Elliot has a breakdown when he finds out about his childhood trauma of being sexually abused by his father, Whiterose tries to use the same manipulation on him to see Angela again that she did on the latter. Elliot calls her out on this because she turned Angela into a completely different person because of this, showing that he was grieving for her but was also heartbroken at what she became at the same time. Whiterose's manipulation is stopped on time when Darlene and Elliot kickstart the hack against the Deus Group, eventually exposing their misdeeds and taking away all of their money and giving it to others.

Later, when the damage of Whiterose's machine knocks Elliot out, he ends up in the mental world he created for the host personality and mistakes it for the alternate world Whiterose talked about. He even realises he is marrying the Angela who didn't hate him and loved him completely and results in him trying to kill the host.

However, after learning about who he really is, he finally let's go of his grief over Angela and let's his host personality live a normal life with Darlene.

Throughout the series, we saw how Elliot and Angela dealt with the grief of their parents' death caused by E Corp and they both had a similar goal of exposing them and taking them down. But as we observe, despite his mental health issues, Elliot was shown to be a more wiser and kinder person whose goal was to help others and save them from abusers and make sure they don't go through the same trauma as he did as a child by punishing the wrongdoers like abusers, rapists, cheaters, pedophiles etc. While Angela slowly grew a demonic and reckless personality due to combination of Whiterose brainwashing her, people walking on and disrespecting her, working in E CORP and the grief towards her mother, which turned her into a power hungry tyrant who didn't care about others and only cared about herself and her vengeance, to the point she ended up hurting others and was willing to throw others under the bus to achieve her goals.

Even worse is that she was the only person who gave up on Elliot entirely at the end.

These contrast arcs resulted in Elliot finally having loved ones around him and earning a long, happy and healthy life while Angela ended up dying alone with no one except Elliot, Darlene and Price knowing why did she disappear.
