Red is the main protagonist of the ''Angry Birds'' franchise, debuting in the very first game in 2009. Stella was added to the "Back to School" episode update of ''Angry Birds Seasons'' in 2012. Stella's introduction proved to be very popular, and her appearances in the franchise increased to the point of having her own spinoff game and animated series in 2014.

Initially, Red and Stella had a weak relationship. Stella wanted to be more independent from Red's controlling personality. In the book ''Stella and the Hunt for the Jade Egg'', Red underestimates Stella's abilities and tries to keep her out of danger, insisting she isn’t ready for serious missions. The official guidebook ''The World of Angry Birds Official Guide'' states that Stella prefers to live without Red's intervention and believes he thinks highly of himself.

Numerous official Valentine's Day artwork and merchandise released after 2012 pair Red and Stella together.

In the comic "Red Hood" (a parody of the legend of Robin Hood), Red takes the lead role while Stella plays Maid Marian. The two first interact when Red, Chuck, and Bomb accidentally catapult themselves into her castle, where Stella is immediately smitten by Red's appearance. Later, Red saves the day by rescuing King Richard (played by King Pig) and imprisoning Prince John (played by Ched Pig). The story ends with Red and Stella getting "married." Since it is presented as a fictional story by Chronicler Pig, none of these events actually occur.

In the ''Movie''-inspired comic "The Princess and the Clown" from the "Big Movie Eggstravaganza" comic book, Stella and Red attend a costume party dressed in their respective costumes. Unaware of each other's identities, they fall in love, share a dance, and playfully toss food at the other birds. Still oblivious, Red promises to meet Stella the next day, and they agree to exchange roses. However, when they discover who the other truly is, they part ways in frustration.

Traditionally, Redella is possibly the most popular het ship in the ''Angry Birds'' fandom, as it features the most prominent male and female characters in the franchise. Numerous fanart, fanfiction, and even bootleg Flash games pair the two birds together, supplanting the former main shipping of [[Red x Girl Bird]].

Detractors of the ship cite that Stella was initially intended to be a teenager, as evidenced in the book ''Angry Birds: Hatching a Universe''. This is not stated within the games themselves.

Redella's rival ships are Red x Girl Bird, [[Chuckella]], [[Chred]], and [[Galella]].

Red and Leonard first meet when the pigs' ship arrives at Bird Island. They immediately start off on the wrong foot by crashing into Red's house on the beach.

In the sequel, the birds and the pigs have engaged in a prank war. When Leonard spots an ice ball, which could potentially be a source of danger for both islands, he sends a letter in a bottle to Red (to which Chuck guesses to be a love note) suggesting that they put a stop to this by working together.

When the heist team is having a secret meeting in Mighty Eagle's cave, instead of their plan ideas, a series of Leonard's selfies are shown instead, embarrassing him. One of these pictures shows him wearing Red pajamas, meaning that he bought/made an outfit modeled after his enemy.

== Fanon ==
Rednard is a semi-common pairing within the ''Angry Birds'' fandom. It's not too prominent in the large scheme of things, but it has a dedicated following nonetheless. The ship began with the release of ''The Angry Birds Movie'' in 2016, but it didn't pick up more until around 2018. The reasons for this boost in interest for the ship is unknown, but it became notable in sites like A03, where a handful of people were very dedicated to the ship. Writing multiple works and bringing it out of obscurity.

While there are fans who enjoy both ships, a rival ship to Rednard would be [[Chred]], another MLM Red ship that is more popular overall. Meanwhile, Rednard is sometimes portrayed alongside [[Angry Birds|Chomb]], as most Chomb fanwork tends to be as a background ship to Rednard.

It has 19 works on AO3 and is in the top 10 most written-for relationships in the fandom tag. It was the most popular relationship for a while, but only to readers who weren't logged in to the site, as Chred was technically more popular due to having around 10 works that were user-locked.

Red first met Silver during the mating season. Minutes later, Red finds out Silver is Chuck's younger sister. During the events of the movie, both are sometimes seen blushing near each other. At the end of the movie, they are both seen drinking champagne on a cliff watching over Mighty Eagle' reception.

The ship seemed to gain popularity as the 2nd movie released. People started throwing hate because Chuck, Silver's older brother might not agree with Red and Silver's romantic relationship. Redver's rival ships are Redella, Birdcest and Chred.
