Ansuke is the het ship between Anya and Daisuke from the Mouthwashing fandom.
Canon[]
Not much is directly stated about the duo's relationship, but it is implied that they are on friendly terms throughout hints in the game.
Before the events of the crash, the two were crewmates on a cargo ship. The two have similar origins with Anya failing to pass medical school eight times and Daisuke being unemployed. Their personalities didn't differ too far from each other before the crash; Anya was noticeably much more lively like Daisuke before her traumatic experiences. This could be a cause for why the two got along well.
After Curly's medical evaluation 7 days before the events of the crash, Anya states that "Daisuke described his experience as an intern so far as: 'Awesome, super cool, and like, totally awesome. Like really awesome.'", and then immediately states afterwards if she should be worried for him.
In the same chapter, in Anya's office, there is an array of sticky notes and papers on her memo board. Looking closely, the player can see a comedic doodle featuring a close-up shot of a man with the words "Yimpy" above it. The developers later confirmed that it was drawn by Daisuke to represent Jimmy. It is unknown whether Anya stuck this on the board herself or if Daisuke did and she decided to keep it.
The duo are confirmed to enjoy playing board games together in their free time via both Jimmy and Curly's point of view. It's said that things get heated quickly between them because of their intense competitive natures. Despite this, the two remain on friendly terms.
5 months after the events of the crash, Daisuke becomes distressed over Anya locking herself in her office with Curly. To assure her safety, Daisuke travels through the vent that has been constantly said to be extremely dangerous. In the end, Daisuke comes out insanely injured to the point of no rescue. To put him out of his misery, Swansea chops his face with an axe. The player later discovers that Daisuke's heroic attempt was in vain, as Anya had supposedly committed suicide before he could arrive.
Fanon[]
Ansuke is a very popular pairing when depicted as a friendship within the Mouthwashing fandom. Many fans theorize whether Daisuke is aware of Anya's suicide or not, for it isn't very clear on when her death took place. To compliment this theory, works of Daisuke and Anya as angels often depicting Daisuke's shock of her death were created among the fandom. The two are seen as best friends in fanon, and many fanarts were born in appreciation of their dynamic. They are often depicted as a comedic duo, and this is supposedly inspired by their competitiveness during board games.
There is a common meme version on the question if Anya had told Daisuke instead. While more serous depictions would show him ether being someone that would be a bit immature or naive in Anya's opinion to be able to tell while others would show Daisuke being overly supportive whether or not he fully understands what Anya told him if she said it in a more vague way.
The romantic variant isn't as frowned upon and is quite well received by fans of the two but attention and liking is still favored towards the platonic variant. With Daisuke rarely being depicted as a kid despite being a young adult, it causes some fans to shy away from their romantic interpretation out of supposed taboo.

- After the crash, there are some "beds" around the floor of the ship in the dining room, which belong to Jimmy, Anya and Daisuke. Because of certain details, some people theorize that Anya's bed is next to Daisuke's.
