Antidepressants is the femslash ship between Seiko Kimura and Miaya Gekkogahara from the Danganronpa fandom.
Canon[]
The two have never canonically interacted, as Miaya Gekkogahara has never actually made an appearance alive at any point in the series. Miaya was replaced with a robot made by Monaca before the events of the Future Foundation Killing Game, and not much is known about. Seiko, on the other hand, was a major character in episode 4 of the Despair arc. Though it's likely they've met, as they are both heads of divisions of the Future Foundation, they're never seen together while Miaya is still human. It's unknown what class Miaya was in, though she is most likely to be in the 76th year or earlier, as everyone still in Hope's Peak Academy during the tragedy was 'wiped out' aside from the 78th class. Because it's unknown, it's possible that they interacted during their years at Hope's Peak Academy as classmates.
Seiko is a generally shy character, similar to Mikan Tsumiki, and is shown to be happy when her medicine works or does a good job. She seems to have a deep anger towards the Remnants of Despair, and is shown to not be against killing them. She was the Ultimate Pharmacist during her time at Hope's Peak Academy, and in the Future Foundation she was the Branch Office 4 Director. Her position in the Future Foundation gives her the responsibility of researching and developing new medical techniques. She seems to be able to realize when she isn't getting as much as she's putting into relationships after they fall apart, unfortunately instead of during, or at least is the case with Ruruka.
She tends to be used by others, including Komaeda Nagito and Ruruka Ando. She was friends with Ruruka, and due to her not being physically able to eat Ruruka's sweets without dire consequences, feels incredibly sorry and often makes her medicines to do things such as cheating on exams. Ruruka manipulates her this way, and Seiko spends her last minutes wondering what she did wrong, and how she messed everything up. During the Despair Arc, due to Ruruka mixing up which drug she was supposed to take. Ruruka's mistake indirectly caused her to get Seiko and Sohnosuke expelled.
Unlike Seiko, who was present in both the Despair and Future Arcs, the only time we see the real Miaya Gekkogahara is when we're given a snapshot of her corpse. While not much is known about Miaya, it is known that she is incredibly shy, to the point of only talking through her avatar, Usami. It's also likely that she was in a wheelchair for some time before she was murdered, as the chances of nobody questioning what happened to her are very low. Her age and class is unknown, though she was the Ultimate Therapist during her time at Hope's Peak. In the Future Foundation, her title is Branch Office 7 Director. Her tasks include providing security to deal with cyber threats and developing new ways to cure despair. She is briefly mentioned to be one of the developers of the Neo World Program. While her stance on the Remnants of Despair isn't known, it's likely that she didn't want them dead as she was actively attempting to get them cured, in contrast with Seiko's views on them.
Fanon[]
The ship is a rarepair, likely due to the Future Arc, and the whole of Danganronpa: 3 not generally being one of the more viewed entries to the franchise, especially in comparison to the games. The ship is most commonly portrayed as fanfiction rather than fanart. On Ao3, there are currently 10 fanfictions under the Gekkogahara Miaya/Kimura Seiko tag, six of which focus on Antidepressants. They tend to be portrayed in non-Despair or pre-Despair environments, and often during or after their time in Hope's Peak. Their fanfics tend to be more fluff rather than angst. In them, Miaya is often portrayed as being in a wheelchair, and occasionally as being related to Monaca Towa. They are more often referred to as 'Seiaya'.
On AO3, Anitdepressents is the fifth most written ship for Seiko and the most written for Miaya. There are currently 10 written works.
