Aphermes is the het ship between Aphrodite and Hermes from Greek Mythology.
Canon[]
Aphrodite and Hermes are two of the Olympian Gods, Hermes is directly related to Zeus through an affair with the Pleiad Maia, Aphrodite is often only tangentially related to the Olympians as a remnant of sky god Ouranous fell into the sea and she emerged from the waves fully-grown. As soon as Aphrodite arrived on Mount Olympus, she caused strife between the gods as many of them wanted to claim her as their wife. Zeus had to intervene and in conjunction with Hephaestus threatening Hera to arrange a marriage for him, everyone witnessed Zeus arrange his marriage to Aphrodite. However, as Aphrodite was unfaithful despite promising to remain loyal to Hephaestus, the latter staged a trap for her and her lover Ares, tying them up in their shared bed and revealing them to the other Olympians. But instead of judging Aphrodite for her infidelity, many gods openly claim that they would love to be in Ares' place, Hermes being one of them. When Hermes later pursued Aphrodite, she initially rejected him. But with assistance of his father Zeus, Hermes managed to win Aphrodite over. Aphrodite became pregnant with Hermes' child, giving birth to a son named Hermaphroditus after both of their names (who would later become famous for coining the term "hermaphrodite" to refer to a bigendered human).
Aphrodite and Hermes also both contributed to the creation of Pandora, the first woman. In Homer's Iliad, it is stated that Zeus tasked Hermes to fly Hera, Athena and Aphrodite to find a man who could officially declare one of them the fairest of the gods, to end the quarrel between them started by Eris, goddess of strife.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians[]
Hermes and Aphrodite don't have much chance to interact, though Luke does mention in the first book that Aphrodite may have stood with Hermes on Poseidon's side of the argument between him and Zeus over whether Percy had stolen Zeus' lightning bolt.

Hades[]
Hermes and Aphrodite are both among the Olympians who directly aid Zagreus in his quest to escape the Underworld. However, Hermes is unique in that his boons cannot be combined with other gods', thus limiting his options to interact with Aphrodite.

Fanon[]
The relationship between Aphrodite and Hermes is often one of the more overlooked affairs in Greek Mythology. It is far more famous for the child that came out of it than the actual story leading up to it.
Thus, it is often considered a rarepair in most fandoms it appears in. The tumblr account "pjo-ship-polls", detailing how the Camp Half-Blood fandom collectively feels about every popular pairing between characters had the pairing ranked fairly low for both polls made for each god specifically. However, when the ship itself was ranked, the majority of fans voted that they felt neutrally about the pairing, possibly motivated by the fact that it was canon in the myths. The Blood of Zeus fandom did not give it a romantic tag, but there are some shippers of the pairing on tumblr. Fanart for the Lore Olympus and Hades versions can be found.
Tumblr blogs that write dialogue between the gods often depict Hermes as a hapless dork, with Aphrodite either charmed or annoyed by his advances.
