When Clark dives into the water to save Lois, an unknown stranger who swims a lot faster than Clark beats him to it. He tells Chloe what he saw and began to wonder if Lois's savior is possibly a "meteor freak." Clark not like seeing Lois with him, he gets Chloe to look up AC, aka Arthur Curry to see if he has a criminal record. After Chloe informs him that Arthur hasn't been to Smallville before, dismissing Clark's meteor freak theory, he remembers Bark Allen and how he too was someone with powers outside of Smallville. Chloe ask Clark if he was simply jealous of Arthur stealing his hero saving thunder, but Clark replies that he felt there is something wrong about him. At the Talon Clark questions Arthur and acts hostile towards with, from seeing how Lana and Lois were with him. Still feeling that there is something fishy about Arthur Curry, Clark follows him when Arthur is breaking into a lab to set bombs. After Clark kept the bomb from doing damage, he goes after him and the two have an underwater battle. That Clark loses from being in Arthur's element than his own.

Because Arthur saw Clark use his abilities, he confronts him at the Kent barn. Where he tells Clark that Lex is building devices that are killing fish and wants Clark to help him put at stop to it. Not agreeing with Arthur's terrorist methods, he turns him down and subjects that they should at least try to speak with Lex about it. Arthur went along to amuse him, not having much faith that Clark could get Lex to stop. Clark addresses Arthur as his friend to Lex and defends Arthur when Clark describes him as someone who wants to protect what he loves. After Arthur was captured by Lex, Clark arrivals just in time to save him before Arthur dies of hydration, and then helps Arthur to finish what he came to do. Now knowing that Arthur isn't a bad person and was simply someone who was born with his abilities, like he was. When Lex asks Clark what happened to his new friend, he replies that he doesn't know where Arthur has gone.

Arthur and Clark are then seen at the barn, where Arthur thanks Clark for helping him make the ocean safe again and that they should team up in the future. Clark felt that he wasn't ready for something like that and wants Arthur to stop setting bombs. From wanting Arthur to stay out of trouble. He warns Arthur that Lex would be hunting him down now, from seeing his abilities, but Arthur wasn't worried from how big the ocean is. The two then part as true friends, as Arthur leaves Smallville. When Lois came over after Arthur left, Clark admits that he was wrong about AC and was sorry for the way he acted to towards the both of them.

Although AquaSuper isn't the most popular ship between the two characters, from being overshadowed by their canon ships (AquaMera and Clois), it still has a descent amount of supporters. On AO3, there are currently 55+ written works. Along with Tumblr having a few artworks and posts on AquaSuper, that have focused on their DCEU counterparts.
