- Arthur – “Thank you, darling Corrin. I can't wait to walk down the honorable road of justice at your side!”
- Corrin – “I can't wait either!”
Arthrrin is the non-binary ship between Arthur and Corrin from the Fire Emblem fandom.
Canon[]
Fire Emblem Fates[]
Corrin is the prince or princess of Nohr who serves as the avatar character of Fire Emblem Fates. Their gender and appearance can be customized to the player's liking. Arthur is a Nohrian knight and a retainer of Corrin's younger sister, Princess Elise. He is known for his heroic nature and his consistently terrible luck. Corrin and Arthur can enter a romantic relationship after achieving an S Support on the Conquest or Revelation paths.
C Support[]
In their A Support, Corrin encounters Arthur as he is returning from a mission to rescue a town from maurading bandits. Corrin inquires whether it was a difficult battle, and Arthur answers that it was not. Corrin is impressed, stating that they admire Arthur's heroism and devotion to aiding the helpless. They notice, however, that Arthur's clothes are covered in mud, and ask if he was injured. Arthur tells Corrin that the mud is unrelated to the battle. On his way home, he was hit by two separate carriages. After that, the town constable mistook him for a thief and chased him for ten miles. Corrin remarks that Arthur must have been born under an unlucky star, to which Arthur agrees, but does not let it affect his positive demeanor. He thanks Corrin for the chat and takes his leave, saying that he must deliver medicine to the elderly. When he is gone, Corrin says to themself that they hope Arthur makes it through his delivery in one piece.
B Support[]
In their B Support, Corrin spots Arthur returning from another mission. When asked about it, Arthur reveals that he helped a charitable organization prepare for a banquet, acting as a taste-tester for the food. As usual, his awful luck kicked in, and the food he tried was spoiled, giving him a terrible stomachache. Corrin feels sorry for Arthur, but he says he is just glad that he discovered the food was spoiled before anyone else could eat it. Arthur then mentions that he must turn in early to prepare for the next day, when his mission will be helping a nearby village with a fire drill. Corrin is wary at the mention of fire and requests more information. Arthur says that he will be showing the townspeople how to put out a wildfire. Concerned for Arthur's safety, Corrin asks for a favor: Arthur must completely soak himself in water before lighting any fires. He finds the request strange, but promises that he will.
A Support[]
Their C Support opens with Corrin asking Arthur how the fire drill went. Arthur says that he drenched himself in water as he promised he would, and declares that the drill was a resounding success. Corrin is relieved, saying that they had a bad feeling about the fire. Arthur reveals that he never had the chance to light one. When he went to jump in the river to soak himself, he slipped on mud and fell in, face-first. He was then swept away by the currents. If that were not bad enough, it had rained heavily the night before, and the water was full of rocks and branches. Arthur cheerfully remarks that it was a painful experience, and that swimming back to shore required all of his strength. When he surfaced, the villagers gave him a huge round of applause. Corrin sighs, but Arthur tells them that the experience pushed his limits, and he values any chance to grow. Without Corrin's advice to drench himself before the fire drill, he would not have had this opportunity. Corrin is bewildered, but says they are happy to help. Arthur calls them his "lucky star," and declares that he thinks this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
S Support (Female Corrin only)[]
In their final Support, Arthur summons Corrin late in the evening. When Corrin asks about the late hour, Arthur says she will understand when she sees, but falls into a hole before he can elaborate on what he wants to show her. Though the hole is deep, he manages to climb out, brushing the accident off. He walks with Corrin to a secluded area, remarking that he often comes there for the breathtaking view. Unfortunately, the fog is thick that night, and they are not able to see anything. Arthur says that at least they have the stars above to look at, but it is so cloudy that none can be seen. Brushing that off too, he reveals the reason he summoned Corrin: to propose marriage. Arthur waxes poetic, saying that Corrin inspires his heart more than his quest for justice, and that he wants her to be his partner in this life. When he attempts to present a ring, the box is empty. Arthur laments that the jeweller must have forgotten to put it back in the case after polishing it. Though he usually takes his bad luck in stride, Arthur cannot act nonchalant about his misfortune this time. He curses his luck, believing he has failed the proposal, and that Corrin will not want to marry him after the pathetic display. He excuses himself to go home and cry, but Corrin begins to laugh. She assures him that she doesn't need a ring or a pretty view. She admires Arthur's dedication to helping people, and she's fallen in love with him. Unable to believe his good luck, Arthur asks Corrin if she means it. Corrin says yes, and that she would be delighted to marry him. Arthur thanks her, saying he can't wait to begin their life together. Corrin says she can't wait either.
Fanon[]
Though it is canon, Arthrrin is a small ship within the Fates community. Though most shippers prefer the slash version, the het version has its fans. Fans of Arthrrin feel that it is a ship with a great deal of substance, especially in the Conquest path. In this route, Corrin is forced to do increasingly depraved things to keep their family together. Toward the end of the game, they ask their brother, Xander, where the justice in the world is. This scene has inspired many Arthrrin fanfics. Fans of the ship see Arthur as Corrin's anchor in a turbulent world. He is their remainder that good still exists, and that a person can always strive to do the right thing, even in the worst of circumstances.
