AruHitchAni is the poly ship between Annie Leonhart, Hitch Dreyse and Armin Arlert from the Attack on Titan fandom.
Canon[]
Armin, Hitch and Annie all graduated at the same time from the Training Corps, although not at the same division. Both Annie and Armin were in the 104th southern, and Hitch's remains unknown. Both Annie and Hitch were close friends, but Armin has come to know her later on into the story, in season three. There, Hitch and Marlo are captured by Squad Levi, and Hitch worriedly asks where Annie is, a question that Armin refuses to answer. Hitch then says that she must'nt have had any friends, which Armin continues to look away.
After Annie's crystallization is revealed to the public, both Armin and Hitch are the people to visit her the most. Annie has said that she heard the two talking to her during the past four years. She described it as a "dim light". Annie appears to treasure the two closely, and remembered them, and listened to them during the years she'd been trapped. She even recalled their conversations, as seen when she put up with Hitch's sayings about the men in her life. Hitch claims that she doesn't mind if Armin has "the hots" for Annie, showing that she knows about his feelings for her.
When Armin is back at Paradis, and reaches to touch Annie's crystal, Hitch appears behind him and yells at him, telling him not to touch her. Armin, flustered, attempts to say that titan memories can transfer through touch, which Hitch teases him more. When the hardening is undone, leaving Annie to escape her crystal, Hitch is willing to help her run away, and goes with her. While on horse, Annie mentions her and Armin talking to her for the past four years while she was crystallized. When they arrive elsewhere, and Hitch was out to buy a pie for Annie, Annie reunites with Armin and Connie, deciding to go with them.
After Eren's death and Paradis is free, the three are still alive, and there is a chance that they've bid each other goodbye, as they went separate ways.
Fanon[]
Due to their lack of interaction overall, AruHitchAni has a small amount of fans. While their contrasting personalities tend to pique the fans' interest, their friendship is more common throughout the fandom. It currently has only four works on AO3, and this ship will possibly never remain too popular. Although some do ship this romantically, it is more common in fanart for Hitch to protect Annie from Armin, or even protect her to want her for herself. It is generally seen as Armin and Annie liking each other, similarly to Annie and Hitch, but works of them rarely present Armin and Hitch being into each other. Poly ships like EreMikaAru and ReiBertAni are more popular.
