AskQuil is the slash ship between Askin Nakk Le Vaar and Quilge Opie from the Bleach fandom.
Canon[]
Askin and Quilge, Sternritter D and Sternritter J, respectively, are both Sternritters within the Sternritter organization serving under Yhwach, emperor of the Wandenriech. In canon, they were shown to have never interacted on-screen or even mentioned each other. Quilge died before Askin was formally introduced in the Thousand Year Blood War arc, which halted all further interactions between the two Sternritters. Ironically, both are killed by Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez right after a confrontation with Kisuke Urahara.
Quilge is extremely authoritative and barbarous, especially to those being subjugated under his command, such as the Arrancars that he took as prisoners when the Wandenriech took over Hueco Mundo. He is shown to be casual when taking part in killing, as well as not caring about the Arrancars, or Hueco Mundo in general, as stated by his subordinates, and watching those subordinates be killed; as he sits there and watches his unit be slaughtered by the Tres Bestias. Quilge is extremely loyal to Yhwach, and the Wandenriech as a whole, risking his life and dying for it. Quilge's schrift, "The Jail", allows him to fire off Reishi constructs from his saber; it is able to close off dimensional gateways and to entrap any opponents via a Reishi cage, which makes the opponent undetectable by others and unable to be heard from outside. The cages he makes are extremely durable and still last even after his death. He uses this ability in his fight against Ichigo Kurosaki as a last-ditch effort to halt him from traveling to the Soul Society during the First Invasion.[1]
Askin, on the other hand, holds an eccentric, sarcastic, and unpredictable personality. Being on the more comic-relief side of the Sternritters, he brings some lightness to otherwise extremely serious situations. Though he is a carefree individual, he and his abilities are one of the most dangerous in the organization. He weaponizes his gloomy and uncaring personality to trick his opponents into stepping the wrong way during a confrontation. Like Quilge, he's also depicted watching a fight in the series, although more in a humorous manner, as shown to have brought a picnic basket and a pair of binoculars to watch Gremmy Thoumeaux and Kenpachi Zaraki fight. Askin's loyalty to Yhwach is due to the former being curious of the new world that the latter will create. Askin's schrift, "The Deathdealing", allows him to "calculate the perfect lethal dose" of any substance he absorbs into his body, whether it be physical consumption, or an abundance of particles, like Reishi, within an area; he can raise or lower the lethal dosage of that substance on others, making that substance fatal to them. His schrift also provides an immunity buff to himself, in which of any attack he tanks, he takes roughly a minute to analyze and become fully immune to that attack; making it so that the attack, by his own words, can't kill him anymore.[2]
Fanon[]
For years (The creation date is unknown, but it has been shipped in closed circles since, at least, 2018), the ship itself has been a running joke (or an actual ship depending on who you ask), but the content is still, at the creator's humor, being made to this day. Currently, the person who made this page has 0 clue about how the fandom treats this ship, but they, themselves, think it's a pretty good ship due to the status of the relationship. On August 19th, 2023, Twitter user @askinfection posted about BLEACH's author, Tite Kubo, confirming that Askin and Quilge were married in canon.[3]
