Astarlan is the het ship between Asta and Arlan from the Honkai: Star Rail fandom.
Canon[]
The two are shown to have a work relationship of lead astronomer and head of the security department in Herta's Space Station. Arlan has great respect for Asta, calling her by “Lady Asta” and often appearing flustered around her. Asta worries for Arlan quite frequently, not wanting him to endanger or overwork himself in various situations.
An Unexpected Turn of Events[]
During the "An Unexpected Turn of Events" Companion Mission, if the Trailblazer returns to the space station, Asta messages them. Asta informs the Trailblazer that there is something she can only discuss with him/her. However, this bothers the Trailblazer, or perhaps they just don't want to bother Asta, so they go back to the Express. Asta tells the Trailblazer that something urgent has happened. Asta also sends a message asking them to stop teasing. She tells Trailblazer to meet her in her usual spot in the space station.
When the Trailblazer approaches Asta in the Master Control Zone, Asta seems to have encountered something worrying her, but is glad the Trailblazer is there. She reports an urgent incident to the Trailblazer, the disappearance of Arlan. The Trailblazer asks her if she has checked the surveillance cameras but is informed that they were destroyed when the Legion invaded and haven't been fully repaired. Asta also tells the Trailblazer that it's been thirteen hours since Arlan last contacted her. She says that Arlan usually takes less than 13 seconds to reply to her messages.
Asta even admits to the Trailblazer that she has been looking for Arlan everywhere and she can't find him. She even looked through the work plan records of the Security Department and she found something. She looked at Arlan's last work objectives entry, which read; "Of the heart. Of the mirror". Asta found this strange while Trailblazer found this odd. Asta informs the Trailblazer that Arlan has never written poetry before. She even asked people in the Security Department, but none of them thought it was concerning.

Because they didn't listen to Asta, she asked the Trailblazer for help. The Trailblazer tells Asta she doesn't even have any clues or Arlan, at his age, just needs "alone time" sometimes. Asta, however, asks the Trailblazer to stop fooling around and help her, saying that he/she is acting like those Security Department idiots.
However, Asta has her secret weapon. She introduces her dog, Peppy, to the Trailblazer. She also tells the Trailblazer that Arlan looked after Peppy since he was a puppy and they're great friends. Asta tells the Trailblazer that Peppy knows Arlan's scent and maybe he can track him down. But Peppy can't go alone because he might get lost, and Asta can't go with him or people might also see her as the lead researcher searching for Arlan and that may make Arlan look incompetent as head of the Security Department.
After talking to Professor Capote, Capote's fans, and Dan Heng with the Security Department, the Trailblazer gathers all the clues and relays them to Asta. Asta is sorry for never knowing that she was giving Arlan so much pressure. Asta and the Trailblazer notice Arlan's shoe size, Asta even tells the Trailblazer that is the pair of shoes she bought for him. They skip the clues and find Arlan quickly. Asta also need to apologize to Arlan in person as well.

Arlan's Character Story: Part II[]
Arlan's Character Story: Part II describes how Asta and Arlan met Peppy. Peppy was in bad conditions, described as being filthy and weak, and her parents said that they were better off buying a new dog, upsetting Asta. At one point, the Arlan believes the dog has stopped breathing, so he leans in to check its nose, and he realizes that it is alive.
Arlan's Character Story: Part III[]

Arlan's Character Story: Part III documents a late night where both Arlan and Asta are awake, having a brief conversation about work and then returning to their posts. However, they both know that despite their best efforts, if a disaster were to occur, it wouldn't take long.
Arlan's Character Story: IV[]
Arlan's Character Story: IV takes place shortly before the events of the beginning of the main plot, during the Antimatter Legion invasion. Asta tells Arlan that there are no signs of life and that they need to head back, and for the first time, Arlan disobeys her orders and risks his life in order to save any possible survivors, although he does apologize to her.

While alone, he is struck down by an Antimatter Legion Soldiers and loses his communication device. Arlan also thinks about how that was possibly his last time disobeying her but hopes it isn't, indicating he doesn't know if he'll survive.
Asta's Character Story: II[]
This character story reveals how Asta and Arlan met. Asta and her mother were volunteering to help feed the poor. Arlan was one of them. Asta says that he was the first person to offer to try and pay her back (while many other people had tried to get her to pay them), despite him being the same age as Asta, a young kid. Asta's mother offers Arlan a job after that.

The pair are depicted closer in numerous works by fans which often feature Peppy, Asta's dog who is usually seen with Arlan more often, as the latter takes care of Peppy to lessen Asta's burdens. After the release of the game, the fans began shipping these two. Some fans perceived their connection as that of a married couple since they both take care of Peppy while in the Space Station. Asta feels horrible for Arlan, who is overworked a lot on the Space Station, and Arlan shows a lot of respect and admiration towards Asta, adding to their dynamic.
