Astrunzel is the femslash ship between Astrid and Rapunzel from the How to Train Your Dragon and Tangled fandoms.
Canon[]
Rapunzel and Astrid never met in canon. This is due to the fact that they belong to different universes. Astrid being a DreamWorks character, while Rapunzel is a Disney character.
Their other common and similar traits is that both Astrid and Rapunzel have blond hair that they have worn in a braid. They have both defeated their homes and the places they've been to with their friends by their sides. They both wield a metal-made type of weapon. Astrid uses an axe, while Rapunzel uses a frying pan. And they both have used other types of weapons when needed to. Both of them have been on a type of treasure hunt with their friends. They have also spend time on a ship they had sailed on to cross the sea, whenever they aren't traveling through the air.
Fanon[]
Astrunzel is a considered to be a rare ship within the respective fandoms of both characters. This is mainly due to the fact that crossovers ships tend to be less popular usually, and also because the ship it's often overshadowed by the most popular ships of both characters. The ship is also considered a rare femslash ship within the Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons crossover fandom and its sub fandoms. It is sometimes shipped alongside Hijack and its ships, New Dream and Hiccstrid. Since in canon Astrid and Rapunzel end up with Hiccup and Flynn/Eugene, fan works vary on how the two are single at the start of the works. Some write Rapunzel being fascinated with Astrid's dragon, Stromfly.
In some Viking AUs, fans sometimes have the two swap places. There have been manips and fanart with the two in each others clothing. On AO3, the ship only has 5 fanfics on it. As well as the ship having small fanbases on both DeviantArt and Tumblr.

- Both of their films came out in 2010, and have their own follow-up TV series that takes place after their first films and lead up to the events that take place in How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Tangled Ever After.
