AsuKure is the het ship between Asuma Sarutobi and Kurenai Yūhi from the Naruto fandom.
Canon[]
Asuma and Kurenai would meet when they were children during the Ninja Academy entrance exam ceremony. After the ceremony the two quickly became friends and both can be seen smiling and talking to each other as they leave the courtyard together. Both would eventually graduate from the academy at the age of nine and in the anime they were both put on a team together, along with Raido Namiashi. Their team would be entered the Chūnin exams, and they both cheered their friends together and they cheered for their friends in Team Minato and both were seen cheering together during the fights or talking to each other.
At some point both Kurenai and Asuma started dating each other as an open secret.
On the night of the Nine Tail's attack, Asuma and Kurenai along with Kakashi and Might Guy and other young ninjas were one the who wanted to repel against the Tailed Beast. But they prevent from doing so and they were forced to wait outside the village by other Senior Shinobis. Kurenai was furious and argued against her father for not letting them defend the village. Asuma would try to clam her down. Later a few years after the event both would be come Jōnin.
At some point their relationship was put on hold when Asuma left Konoha to join the Twelve Guardian Ninja. At some after the Twelve Guardian Ninja disbanded and Asuma would eventually returned to Konoha. And it is most likely that Kurenai and Asuma pick up where they last felt off.
Twelve years after the Nine Tail's Demon Fox attack, at a dumpling shop both Asuma and Kurenai along with Guy, seeing Kakashi fall into a deeper self-pity from losing Obito Uchiha and Rin Nohara, Asuma, Kurenai along with Guy decided to speak with Hiruzen, the Third Hokage and Asuma's father there they voiced their disapproval of Kakashi being a part in the Anbu with bitterness and they suggested to Hiruzen that reassigning Kakashi as a Jōnin sensei hoping that it would restore Kakashi's kindness. To which Hiruzen would agree with. After Kakashi was reassigned as a Jōnin sensei at some point at a dumpling shop they notice that Kakashi failed another set of Genin. Later Hiruzen would joined them to eat dumplings and enjoy a cup of tea.
Prologue- Land of Waves[]
Asuma and Kurenai waiting together with other Jōnins as Hiruzen looks over the newly graduated class of Genin that the Senseis would soon be assigned to.
Chūnin Exams[]
When the time came to nominate Genin who will be taking part in the chūnin exams, both of them would step forward and nominated their team to be in the exam.
During the written portain of the chūnin exams, both Asuma and Kurenai sat together on a couch across from Kakashi and discuss how they think their students might be faring on the exam.
Asuma would tell Kurenai about Ibiki, the sadistic torture profession who was a proctoring the exam. He warns her that the test won't involve Ibiki's skills with physical torture and that he is likely to psychologically torment the Genin.
During the preliminaries of the exams, both Asuma and Kurenai watched their students fight during their rounds and watch Kakashi and Guy's team as well. During Naruto and Kiba's round they were impressed with Naruto's uses of the Shadow Clone and Transformation technique and that he took everything that Kiba threw at him.
During the final round, Kurenai sat next to Asuma to watch the matches together. During Shikamaru's match against Temari, Asuma told Kurenai about Shikamaru and that he has an IQ over 200 and that he's a brilliant straigiest, a fact that surprised her.
Konoha Crush[]
As genjutsu was place on everyone who was watching the final round putting them to sleep. Both Asuma and Kurenai repelled against the genjutsu defeated Konoha during the Invasion. After the Invasion, Hiruzen was killed by Orochimaru, at Hiruzen's funeral both Asuma and Kurenai were seen standing next to each other.
Search for Tsunade[]
While Kakashi was waiting in front of a dango shop, Asuma and Kurenai happened to pass by. Kakashi notices the two spending time together and says that they get along very well, he asked if they were out on a date today. They both immediately blushes shyly and tries to change to change the subject. Kakashi quietly points of two strange individuals in cloaks and the two followed them. Asuma and Kurenai would confront the two were members of the Akatsuki those members being Itachi Uchiha and Kisame Hoshigaki. Both would fight against the two and both of them are at a great disadvantage later by save by Kakashi. When Itachi actives his Mangekyō Sharingan, Kakashi tells them to shut their eyes as he get caught in Itachi's Tsukuyomi and later they were all save by Guy. Guy would tell them on how to fight against a Sharingan user. Later they took Kakashi to his home and try not to tell Sasuke that Itachi returned and that Kakashi is in a coma. Later on in the anime they both attended Tsunade's inauguration ceremony as the Fifth Hokage.
Mizuki Tracking Mission[]
Both Asuma and Kurenai are assigned by Tsunade to bring the criminal Mizuki in for questioning on his suspected involvement with Orochimaru. At the Leaf Village Maximum Security Person they were greeted by a swarm of released inmates, Fūjin and Raijin the Legendary Stupid Brothers were one of the inmates that were included, the pair were outnumbered and was beaten unconscious and would be later found by Naruto who rushed them to the hospital for medical treatment.
In Naruto's Footsteps: The Friends' Paths[]
After two years after Naruto left with Jiraiya for training, an early Chūnin Exams alongside Sunagakure was hosted and both of their teams were nominated for the exams. After the first part of the exams was hosted in Konoha, during the second part of the exams in Sunagakure, Asuma and Kurenai acted as the supervisors for the second exam, to inform Genins who weren't the first 30 teams to arrive at the checkpoint and couldn't participate for the second round. During the second exam, Asuma, Kurenai, and Guy were informed by receiving word from Tsunade to be on guard for any potential assassins towards Gaara as there were many still rejected him as the Kazekage.
Tweleve Guardian Ninja[]
When Sora came to the village, some where in the village Asuma was seen by Kurenai and informs that he smoking too much. Asuma would greet Kurenai and would ask if he would want to watch a movie later on.
At some point Asuma would learn that Kureani was pregnant.
Akatsuki Suppression Mission[]
At the hospital Asuma was interrupted by Kurenai who was about to speak with Kakashi, she arrived and both had to leave. At Yamanaka flowers Asuma buys flowers for Kureani but Asuma refuses to tell anyone who it's for, Asuma blushs when Ino and Shikamaru asks if it's for Kureani. Before leaving for a mission to track down the Akatsuki members, Asuma was staring at an apartment window which was quickly revealed that it was Kureani's apartment. Kurenai sensing something but turns to look outside the window but Asuma and his team was already gone. Kurenai would then later water the flowers that was given to her by Asuma and one of the petals fell off, leading Kurenai feeling uneasy. When Shikamaru returns from the mission, he decieded that it was his duty to break the news to Kurenai. after hearing that Asuma was killed by Hidan a member of the Akatsuki while staring on in shock she was devastated and collapses to her knees and broke down crying. At his funeral Kurenai laid flowers at his grave. In a flashback Shikamaru finally understood on who was the "king" in shogi. The next generation of Shinobi like Asuma and Kureani's unborn child.

In a flashback, Asuma and Kurenai are seen watching the fireworks display.
Fourth Shinobi World War: Countdown - Confrontation[]
At some point Kurenai would change her surname from Yūhi to Sarutobi. Kurenai would give birth to their daughter Mirai. Kurenai would retire from Shinobi work to raise Mirai.
Birth of the Ten-Tails' Jinchūriki[]
In the Infinite Tsukuyomi in Shikamaru's dream he sees Asuma and Kurenai's life with their child. Kurenai smiles while Asuma fusses over his crying daughter in his arms.

Mirai is the only daughter of Asuma and Kurenai. She has black long and unruly hair and she has red ringed irides where she inherited from her mother. Mirai has a strong resembles to her mother. Like her father she as a natural Affinity for the Wind Release She was regularly watched be Shikamaru Nara when she was a toddler and Mirari grew close with him and would refer him as "Big Brother Shika" like her cousin Konohamaru who refers Naruto as "Big Brother Naruto". She also visited her father's grave when she was young. At some point she would develop a sibling-like relationship with Shikamaru's son, Shikadai Nara. At some point she was taught various long-range Wind Release techniques by Temari. Later as a teen she would referring Shikamaru as "Shikamaru Sensei" and became a Chūnin and at some point she would use the chakra blades that her father had once used.
Fanon[]
This ship is a very well-known pairing in the Fandom gaining a numerous amount of supports. It was supported due to the scenes and moments of the two characters that shared a well as the development of their relationship through the series. It was very heavily hinted that throughout the series that Asuma and Kurenai were romantic involved with each other due to them being close since childhood. The pair have often been seen as together in both of their scenes and it was important to note and point out this fact. This pairing is also recognized as of one of the tragic couples in the series.
