The Youths Who Chase Dreams[]

Caelus and Aventurine met in the Penacony’s reality, “The Reverie”. Except for Dan Heng, it happened when the Astral Express crews arrived at Penacony. Since he wants to remain and keep an eye on the Express alongside Pom-Pom. They went to the hotel lobby as soon as they got to Penacony to reserve a room. Heading towards the hotel lobby, March asked why there’s already drama while they just arrived here. Himeko was told by Alley, a front desk employee, that Caelus' name doesn't appear on the hotel's reservation list in the system. Since they had individually made reservations, Himeko asked Alley to double check, and she informed the crews that there were four platinum guest rooms. One each for Mr. Yang, Miss Himeko, Miss March, and Mr. Dan Heng. Welt understand the situation, since Caelus hasn't yet arrived on the Express, and his name is not present and he didn't have The Family's invitation. Instead Welt has an idea if Caelus has Dan Heng’s room, since he can’t make it and to reassign the room. Himeko even said to Alley that Caelus is a new passenger aboard from the Astral Express and they can vouch for his status.

When trying to check into the hotel, there’s a dialogue option if the player will choose to show Alley the Trailblazer profile or the Architect's lance. Alley wasn't attempting to doubt Caelus' status, but she still finds it difficult to accept. Aventurine approached them and said they were on the eve of the Charmony Festival, one of the important celebrations in Penacony every era. He even said to the crew members of the Astral Express that all guests from all over the cosmos are invited by the Family. Aventurine defends Alley from the crews to not make it harder for her. Welt apologize to Aventurine about this situation since they are having trouble checking-in for their rooms. Aventurine introduced himself from the Astral Express crews, saying he is the  IPC's Strategic Investment Department, a Non-Performing Asset Liquidation Specialist and he was subordinate to supervisor Diamond. (One of the IPC’s employees). He was also invited by the Watchmaker.

Himeko told Aventurine that she had heard that the IPC had been invited to visit Penacony. So she apologize to him for being mistaken and him being the representative. She asked Aventurine if he wouldn't mind paving a convenience for them. He said to Himeko that he might be hearing things or asking why they should pave a convenience to him. He even said that he should be asking this to Himeko instead of her. He told Himeko that he had been on the line for ten minutes. Himeko asked Aventurine if Caelus can borrow his status to vouch and to forge new friendships. Aventurine accepts the request since he finds this to be interesting. He was grateful for the Astral Express's friendship and looking forward to having a delightful time with them. He told Alley to allow Caelus to check-in on his account and not cause her any trouble with Sunday.

In the Trailblaze Mission, there’s an optional choice if the player wants to talk to Aventurine. When Caelus approaches Aventurine to talk to him, he greets Caelus by calling him “friend”, and asking him, how have he been in Penacony and hope he wouldn’t mind by asking this.

But Caelus does mind the question of Aventurine, from the dialogue option: “I do mind”. He apologize to Caelus and offers 10,000 credits as a gesture of goodwill. Caelus was grateful for the offer that Aventurine gave him. Aventurine said to Caelus that’s what friends are for without friction and how they became truly acquainted. But Caelus said to him that he doesn’t know what friends are. While Aventurine likes Caelus’ integrity and is glad to be his friend. So Aventurine gives Caelus 20,000 credits.

  • Caelus: I do mind.
  • Aventurine: My apologies for any perceived slight. To show my sincerity, I offer you 10,000 credits as a gesture of goodwill.
  • Caelus: That's better.
  • Aventurine: What're friends without friction! Now we're truly acquainted.
  • Caelus: You have no idea what friends are.
  • Aventurine: Such integrity, I like it! I must have you as a friend — here, 20,000 credits!

While in the other dialogue option if the player chooses: “It's fine, I don't mind it.” Aventurine still apologizes and gives the 10,000 credits to Caelus for a goodwill gesture. Caelus accepts the offer and Aventurine is grateful of Caelus saying “thank you” to him, and they can spare gifts. Aventurine said to Caelus that he likes him as his friend and gives him 20,000 credits.

  • Caelus: It's fine, I don't mind it.
  • Aventurine: My apologies for any perceived slight. To show my sincerity, I offer you 10,000 credits as a gesture of goodwill.
  • Caelus: Then I'll gladly accept it.
  • Aventurine: That's the spirit! Nothing should come between friends. Tell me whatever you need, it's on my tab.
  • Caelus: Thank you, but we can spare the gifts.
  • Aventurine: How upright, I like you! I must have you as a friend — here, 20,000 credits!

After their conversation, Aventurine said to Caelus that he has other matters to attend to and hope they can meet again soon.

Later when the crews succeeded in getting their own rooms, they went to the elevator to go to their own rooms. When Caelus goes to his room, he sees Aventurine in his room and asks him why he is in here. Aventurine told Caelus that this may be his room, but telling him still that his system it was still his. He also tells Caelus that he was lucky he would have this room instead of him. The room has precious space and Aventurine told Caelus to treasure it by still calling him friend. But in the quest, there are three optional dialogues that the player will choose to talk to Aventurine.

  • You were the one who transferred it to me?
    • Aventurine: Of course. What, you thought The Family acted simply out of their own good will?
  • You were the one who arranged the check-in?
    • Aventurine: No no, I only let you have my room.
  • Well, it doesn't matter. You need to leave.
    • Aventurine: I'm not sure I like that tone...

Aventurine said that Penacony was a "true-blue land of dreams" and asked how many people across the stars would spend half their lives to get a ticket to The Reverie. He even thinks who could perhaps be able to afford to stay here. If it wasn’t his brilliant plan, he asked Caelus if The Family would offend those bigwigs, just to sate the paltry whims of an unsought guest such as himself. Aventurine wants a chat with Caelus on everything that has been said and done. There are two optional dialogues if the player asked Aventurine about their conversation by asking him, “What do you want to talk about?” or “You should go talk to Himeko or Welt.”

  • What do you want to talk about?
    • Aventurine: Cutting to the chase, I like that.
  • You should go talk to Himeko or Welt.
    • Aventurine: Wrong. You're the one I seek.

In the first option, Aventurine likes Caelus’ attitude to know ahead about the chase. While in the second option, Caelus asked Aventurine why he couldn't talk to Himeko or Welt instead of him. But Aventurine said to Caelus that he is the one he should seek.

Aventurine tells Caelus that he needs his help. Aventurine thinks if Caelus knows this or not from this situation. He said to Caelus that Penacony's far murkier than it seems. He even said that The Family's eyes are everywhere from Penacony. Aventurine said to Caelus about his main goal. He needs Caelus to help the IPC to retrieve some things that belonged to them in the first place. If Caelus agrees to his favour when it's finished, he can stand to reap great rewards, as well as the Preservation's protection. Aventurine even said to Caelus that he was not just one of the crowd, but he possessed a distinct quality, so magnetic that it could sway the outcome of any game. He asked Caelus about the power that he has with his power which is that both fear and desire is right in the palms of his hands. He asked Caelus if he hit the nail on the head by calling him “Mr. Stellaron”. However, Caelus is under no need to respond to him straight away; if he wants to, he is even welcome to discuss it with his coworkers. In fact, he "welcome[s] that notion" since "it will also show [his] true value [to him]". He avoids transactions in which he is the loser and makes oblique references to his desire that he won't disappoint him.

Aventurine wants to "get to know each other better" by making Caelus guess whose hand the chip is hiding in before he leaves. By doing this, he hopes to have a better understanding of Caelus and his personality. He instructs him to select a hand after he does his coin trick. But, since the "game" has already started, it makes no difference which option he chooses, suggesting that he really has no say in the issue.

Acheron asks Aventurine why he's in her room, cutting off his threat. Aventurine is briefly confused, but he quickly returns to his friendly demeanour upon realizing that his plan to force Caelus into making a decision is doomed. With a lighthearted caution to watch out for "unsavoury characters" and to always be alert, he departs. He gives Caelus one of his tokens.

Whodunit[]

After rescuing him, Black Swan gives Caelus to Aventurine, who had asked for him. He tells Caelus that Black Swan hasn't betrayed him and that the Emanator Acheron is the true enemy, indicating that she is the one responsible for Firefly's death. Caelus finds it difficult to believe him, but Aventurine goes on to show that Acheron is a dishonest and suspicious person who killed Ifrit, stole his invite, and pretends to be a Galaxy Ranger. Even after informing Caelus that there is a truth about Penacony that he is aware of, Aventurine doesn't give up on trying to convince him despite his ongoing doubts. He says he will wait for his answer, but not that long.

Despite all of the evidence, Aventurine provides regarding Acheron, Caelus is still confused whether or not to believe him. The Memokeeper reminds him that Aventurine is a trustworthy individual who needs Caelus for his plans when he chooses to speak with Black Swan once again in order to get more details. Also, she warns Caelus to be cautious around Aventurine since he will "go to extreme lengths to ensure his advantage". Even though they both mistrust Aventurine, Black Swan believes that learning the "truth" from him is helpful for them.

As Caelus decides he wants to know the truth, he speaks with Aventurine, who is happy to show him the way down the hallway in order to reveal the "truth". Aventurine tells Caelus the "truth"—Robin's body—in a room that resembles the real one.

Cat Among Pigeons[]

The Devil in Velvet[]

The act starts in front of Robin's dead body, sitting up in one of the Dreampools, immediately following the shocking conclusion of the previous chapter. Caelus gets startled and appears to be finding it difficult to believe what he is seeing. With The Family ready to testify on his behalf, Aventurine is sure to clear his name by providing an alibi and reassuring everyone of his innocence. The second thing that comes out of his mouth is an explanation of how the IPC's basic light cone technology allowed Robin's body to exist in the dreamscape. Aventurine continues sowing doubts about Acheron by going on how much The Family considers the Dreamscape's defense and how unusual the Emanator's presence in the dreamscape is. Caelus is finding it difficult to process everything, but Aventurine reassures him that it always takes time to build trust and that he is willing to wait. He advises Caelus to stay away from Acheron since everyone is out to get something. Aventurine changes the subject by informing Black Swan that the deal is over, but Black Swan responds to suggest a greater conspiracy is underway and identifies Aventurine as its conspirator. Aventurine reveals the reason for tying Caelus: he wants to work directly with the Astral Express, after Black Swan's confirmation that the light cone has not been tampered with. He tells him that his goal is not to take over the inheritance, but rather to fulfill his duty of finding lost property for the IPC; it's only that The Family makes things difficult. He needs Caelus' assistance to find out the truth about "Death" in Penacony since they won't answer his calls or engage in talks. He even goes so far as to inform Caelus that they can obtain justice for Robin in the process, appealing to his sense of justice. The strategy is simple: take advantage of The Family's faith in The Nameless. Himeko should be able to come to an agreement if Caelus just discusses the situation with his group; after all, she is the one who will recognize the significance of their agreement. Before leaving Caelus with 50,000 credits and his contact details, Aventurine wanders off. Even after a kind farewell and a thoughtful present, Caelus senses that something is wrong with Aventurine.

Caelus talks it out with Black Swan, who warns him against collaborating with him. Black Swan remarks that Caelus' asking to roll a dice and let fate make the decision is "just like how that gambler thinks" in response to his question in one of the dialogue options.

Caelus visits The Astral Express crew at Golden Hour to discuss their latest discovery. They discuss Aventurine, and they all agree that he seems suspicious. They all agree that The Family has no ill-will towards them, but Himeko asks Welt about Aventurine. He says that although the IPC envoy is complex and seems to be going around in circles, having allies in these uncertain times is a good idea because their interests coincide. Since Caelus has been "bullied" since they've arrived, March is willing to keep an eye on him; if things don't work out, she's more than willing to use him and turn the tables on him.

With a plan in place, Himeko asks Caelus to text back Aventurine their response to his offer of assistance. His favorable response makes Aventurine happy, so they send him 200,000 credits for it.

Lost Generation[]

Aventurine is happy with the outcome, and Caelus informs the crew of The Astral Express. Himeko and Caelus talk about what Aventurine is specifically going to do to regain Penacony for the IPC, and Caelus mentions the Astral Express as one of his main methods of taking down The Family. Himeko takes that into consideration as well, thinking that since Aventurine already sought him out and continuously probes him regarding his intentions, he must respect Caelus. That doesn't stop Himeko from warning him about Aventurine, though; they ought to apply caution around him since he is a born gambler who is good at reading people and timing attacks. Welt mentions that he has certain reservations regarding Aventurine. The fact that he blames Acheron without providing any proof of her part in the Memory Zone Meme that killed Firefly, as well as his reasons for his "stalking her" actions, make him even more suspicious of Aventurine. He feels that the gambler had no intention to win Acheron's trust and is only attempting to create division in an attempt to increase the situation. He warns Caelus not to put all of his trust in Aventurine as they cannot afford to fall for his manipulations.

When the Sacred Ginmill Closes[]

In reality, Topaz and the Astral Express crew meet in the hotel lobby of The Reverie. The topic of Aventurine soon comes up, and Topaz makes it clear how eager her coworker is to work with someone in the Dreamscape because the IPC is unable to support him there.

A Walk Among the Tombstones[]

Acheron meets the group after proving she poses no threat to the crew. Welt claims that Aventurine's prior accusations against her were motivated by his own subjectivity and that she presents no threat to them. He feels there must be more to the gambler's actions, and advises contacting Aventurine to get an explanation. Welt even believes that Aventurine could have known Penacony's secret from the start and that he intended to use the Astral Express as a means of revealing it. He comes to decide that having Acheron as an additional ally is a good idea, worried that Aventurine would have them do something unexpected and that the situation "is significantly more intricate than that of Belobog and the Xianzhou." Though they're not sure where to go for Adventure, everyone is prepared to go. Himeko tells them he'll be the one to encourage them to come to him, and it turns out that he is right as Aventurine's voice echoes over Dreamscape, urging everyone to attend a show at Clock Studios' Theme Park.

This section is in need of major improvement. Please help improve this article by editing it.

AvenCae is a decently well liked and known ship in the Honkai: Star Rail fandom. It first gained interest with the release of the "WHITE NIGHT" music video, showing the two dancing together. Although Caelus is actually an inch taller than Aventurine in the game, many fans like to believe that Aventurine is one inch taller than Caelus. Their scenes together, and the cutscene where Aventurine takes off his glasses in front of Caelus especially, made them gain popularity. After Harmony Caelus was shown, a couple of players joked that Caelus was mentored by Aventurine due to viewing one of his stances as "fruity". Additionally, in the Japanese dub, majority of Caelus's battle voicelines are in Katakana. Aventurine is shown to speak a lot of Katakana words, including in his battle voicelines, which furthers the idea of Aventurine mentoring Harmony Caelus.

Main rivals of AvenCae include the well-known ships of Aventurine and Caelus, DanCae and Ratiorine, as well as other pairings like Sunturine, RatioCae, Avenpaz, and CaeFly.

They currently have 63+ works on AO3.
