Azeldain is the het ship between Azelle and Edain from the Fire Emblem fandom.
Canon[]
Azelle and Edain are two playable characters in Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War. They are both nobles of Grannvale. Edain is the daughter of the Duke of Yngvi and Azelle is the half-brother of Arvis, Duke of Velthomer. When Azelle sees Edain for the first time, (they were kids) he fell in love for her. Both are descendant of two crusaders (Ullr and Fjalar respectively) and inherits minor holy blood.
At the beginning of the game, most Grannvale's forces are fighting the kingdom of Isaach. The neighbour's kingdom Verdan takes advantage of the fact that most Grannvale's forces are away to attack the country. Led by Munnir (Verdan's prince), Verdan's forces invades Yngvi and captures Edain. Sigurd (the heir to the dukedom next to Yngvi and Edain's childhood friend) goes to fight Verdan to defend the country against the invasion and to save his friend. Azelle was worried for Edain and joins Sigurd's army. Jamke (Verdan's youngest prince) disagree with the invasion and free Edain alongside the thief Dew (who was asked to protect her) and they both join Sigurd's army.
When Edain reaches Sigurd's army, she has a conversation with Azelle. Azelle says that he is glad to see Edain safe and that he went to the fight when he learned that she was captured. Edain asks if Arvis agreed to let Azelle join the fight, and he answers that he came without his brother's consent. Edain expresses that she is surprised to see Azelle on a battlefield since he abhors violence. If they reach enough love points together they will wed. If in chapter 4 they are married together they will have a special conversation. In this conversation Azelle reveal that he has the impression to be in a dream and that he love Edain since the first time he see her when he was very young. Edain answers that she is happy to be with him.
At the end of chapter 5, Sigurd is betrayed and killed by Arvis in what would become known as the Battle of Belhalla, and of his most of his army died with him. Azelle's fate is unknown, but Edain manages to escape to Isaach (where some members of the army had sent their children to safety). She becomes an abbess in Tirnanog, raising her own children Lana and Lester, and acting as a mother figure to Seliph, Diarmuid/Tristan, Larcei/Creidne, and Scáthach/Dalvin. In the second generation, her two children that she has with her husband are playable. Her daughter Lana inherit her class and inventory while her son Lester inherit his father's inventory. After the war Lester, will became the duke of Velthomer.

Azeldain is mainly shipped for strategic purposes by the players who want to focus on Lana.
On Edain's side, the two main rivals are Midain and Jamkedain, the main reason that Midir or Jamke are generally chosen over Azelle to be Edain's husband is that they give a decent Lana and a good Lester. With Midir/Jamke as his father, Lester will be able to inherit weapons (including a Brave Bow) and will be good at physical combat.
On Azelle's side, the main rival is Azelle x Tailtiu. If Azelle marries Tailtiu, both their kids will get the Pursuit skill, good stats, and Arthur will inherit his father's magic tomes.
