BabsJess is the femslash ship between Barbara Gordon and Jessica Cruz from the DC Super Hero Girls fandom.

Canon

Gen One

Batgirl first meets Jessica as Lois Lane's camera girl. The two cross paths at the going away party for Hal Jordan, where Jess gets startled by the load popping sound and Batgirl reassures her that it was simply a balloon popping. She asks if she's alright, seconds before Grundy crashed the party. Jess records Batgirl and her friends battling him from her hiding spot. Jess being told to record such battles, come's in handy when Batgirl asks Jess to show her footage in order to find the key code for Thaal Sinestro's ship. Before Batgirl approached Jessica on this, Jess was chosen to be the next Junior Green Lantern but was too scared to accept the ring, keeping it hidden from Batgirl.

Jess asks Batgirl if she was scared to face Sinestro, but Batgirl says no from how he doesn't see her as a threat. Despite Jess's attempts to keep the ring hidden and to escape what it is asking of her, Batgirl eventually sees it and was happy to learn that she would have the new Green Lantern helping her to take on Sinestro. Seeing that Jess is scared, Batgirl helps her understand that she doesn't have to be fearless to be a great hero. From how heroes over come their fears to do what is right and that the ring knows she can do it, all Jess has to do is believe in herself. This gives Jess the courage she needs to on place the ring and to take on Sinestro, while Batgirl goes to free her friends. During Jess's first battle as a junior lantern, she uses the ring's power to create replicas of Batgirl, Wonder Woman and Supergirl, from how they have inspired her and others to be brave.

After the battle was won, Batgirl and her freed friends congregate Jess. Batgirl is then seen standing outside Principal Waller's office, with Wonder Woman and Supergirl, as they encourage her to attend Super Hero High with their smiles and support.

Babs first comes across Jess during her first day at her new school in Metropolis, where she sees Jess trying to give Hal Jordan a green colored ring. She also over hear's Jess say that she didn't want it despite Hal telling Jess that it has chosen her.

BabsJess is a rare pair that is mostly limited to the DC Super Hero Girls universe. With the comics not having many interactions between Babs and Jess, that would get people to ship them, while the 2019 cartoon has them as friends and teammates. Along with season 4 of the original 2015 web series having a three part episode on the two. Leading to some fans seeing the potential of the two being a couple in that version.
