Buddie Baddies is the friendship between Lancer and Bowser Jr. from the Deltarune and Super Mario fandoms.

Lancer and Bowser Jr are both princes of an evil kingdom, the Spade Kingdom and the Koopa Kingdom respectively. They both look like practically smaller version of their fathers. They are both bratty little kids who enjoy causing mischief. They both get around on wheeled vehicles, Lancer rides a tricycle while Bowser Jr had a smaller version of his father's "Koopa Clown Car" specifically made for him.

The main differences between them is how they treat their respective heroic counterparts. While Lancer turns out to be genuinely nice and eager to make friends with his "enemies", Bowser Jr has a mean streak that his father actively enables in order to get him to assist in his schemes against the Mushroom Kingdom. However, while Bowser is a great father who toes the line at spoiling his son, King treats Lancer like crap and is even willing to throw him off the roof to force his new friends into retreating. While Bowser Jr understands and supports his father's goal of kidnapping Princess Peach and conquering the Mushroom Kingdom, Lancer was too innocent to understand that his father was planning a genocide and immediately lost all respect for him once he finally realized that his father was pure evil. Also, while Lancer befriended his opponents very quickly into his story, Bowser Jr shares his father's dislike for Mario and friends, only ever asking for their help when the situation is truly desperate.

It took Deltarune fans maybe a few months at most for them to realize how similar Lancer is to Bowser Jr.

Much like how Undertale had Asgore serve as a deconstruction of the "villainous king" as the final boss, fans noted how King and Lancer served as further deconstructions of the very same "Overlord Jr" trope that Bowser Jr falls into.

In-spite of this, many fans believe that Lancer and Bowser Jr would immediately become best friends if they ever got to meet. The idea of having them crossover can be credited to a general friendliness between Toby Fox fans and Nintendo fans, Undertale being inspired by EarthBound after all, along with both of them being the youngest members of their respective casts, making regular shipping difficult without aging them up. Many like the idea of Bowser Jr getting someone of his own age to play with, along with Lancer befriending Bowser and getting to see what a healthy father-and-son bond is supposed to look like. Many would also love to see Bowser beat the crap out of King, which is also the reason why having Asgore meet King is such a popular concept in fanwork. Many like to think that Lancer would get along very well with both Bowsers, since he's best friends with Susie who is basically just Bowser as a teenage girl. Some have even thought of the idea of Bowser adopting Lancer and sometimes Susie as well, thus legally making Lancer and Bowser Jr brothers.

Since Super Smash Bros. is referenced in the first chapter, some people believe that Lancer would main Bowser Jr in Smash and other Mario spin-offs, directly acknowledging their similarities.

In popularity polls on tumblr, "Team Baddie Buddies" had absolutely clobbered any crossover friendship they were pitted against. Though there are currently no fanfics of this concept.
