In hazy memories of the olden days, [Yingxing] finally made up his mind to gift his bosom-friend [Baiheng] with his hand-made jade flask, only to realize with a shock that the person he longed for was no longer there. He realized that everything he relied on to walk this earth — this body, this life, this love and hatred, and even this set of clothes — were just loaned items.
—Passerby's Ragged Embroided Coat on Yingxing and Baiheng

BaiXing is the het ship between Baiheng and Blade from the Honkai: Star Rail fandom.

Canon[]

Yingxing, later known as Blade after being mara-struck, met Baiheng met early on before they joined the formation of the High-Cloud Quintet. Yingxing valued Baiheng greatly, as the two were close friends and comrades. Yingxing was described to be "as bashful as a timid teenager" when attempting to gift Baiheng a bottle he made for her, despite his arrogant and confident persona. Yingxing had committed a grave sin with Dan Feng in order to revive Baiheng after her death, only for their attempt to backfire. Baiheng is described to be Yingxing's beloved, his bosom friend, and the one he longed for. Details on their full friendship are obscure and unrevealed, however, the Passerby of Wandering Cloud relic set points to Yingxing's depiction of romantic feelings towards Baiheng, stating how "this love" was just a loan when talking about their relationship.

When Yingxing's home world was destroyed as a young kid, he made his way to the Xianzhou Luofu and quickly became a proficient master of weapon-making. When on the Zhuming, Yingxing first met Baiheng who was assigned to a delegation; Yingxing was tasked to escort the delegation to his master, and along the way, Baiheng talked to Yingxing, who was exceptionally shy and insecure. He opened up about his past to her, and she soon called him "Little Yingxing."

Later on, the two had been recruited by Jingliu to join the High-Cloud Quintet, the legendary group of now five heroes on the Luofu. The two fought alongside each other in battle, warding off countless of threats throughout the Quintet's short formation. In the animated short, "Ichor of Two Dragons", Baiheng is seen urging a frowning Yingxing and Dan Feng to smile in Dan Heng's memories, giving brief insight on their dynamic.

When Shuhu attacked the Xianzhou Alliance, Baiheng charged in straight forward and ended up sacrificing her life to save Jingliu, Dan Feng, and many others. This later resulted in Dan feng unable to accept her death, leading him to resurrect Baiheng with the help of Yingxing, who was in deep peril and agony after Baiheng's sacrifice. Known as the Sedition of Imbibitor Lunae, this event ended up in Baiheng's resurrection, only the inadvertent creation of a great beast that wreaked havoc on Scalegorge Waterscape.

Jingliu fought off the beast, mara-struck in the process, and Baiheng was supposedly slain in the battle once more, with the information being rather obscure. Yingxing was later cursed into mara as an immortal species, and Dan Feng was forced into a rebirth, marking the end of the High-Cloud Quintet. Yingxing was then exiled and adopted his new identity, Blade.

In "Clouds Leave No Trace", when Jingliu heads to pay her tributes to Baiheng, she speaks aloud and brings the bottle Yingxing made for Baiheng. Jingliu then apologizes to a dead Baiheng saying it took her far too long to find the bottle, saying Yingxing never got the chance to give the gift in person, and how she's now relieved.

Later on, while dueling Jingliu, Blade angrily asks why Baiheng had to be the one who "was buried, returned to ash, and eventually forgotten", anguished by her death.

Passerby of Wandering Cloud set / All References to Baiheng[]

In the Passerby's Bottle of Plenty, it's stated that Yingxing was described to have prepared an exquisite jade bottle for Baiheng which perfectly described the meaning of her name, "white as a pure pearl", as well as describing the bottle as being a testimony of his "dated intimacy" and not among his masterpieces. Later, it's stated how Baiheng loved sightseeing, making friends, and holding feats, leading to Yingxing carving on the bottle the phrase, "Real drinkers are more famous than sober sages." The relic then states,

“For some reason, each time the unnamed [Yingxing] was about to give this bottle to his friend [Baiheng], he would always become as bashful as a timid teenager. However, when he finally plucked up the courage, his friend was gone. A bottle that cannot be emptied, a gift that cannot be sent, a dream that cannot be fulfilled - a regret that one must endure.”

Reading these lines together along with looking at the name of Blade's 2nd Eidolon, "Ten Thousand Sorrows from One Broken Dream", Baiheng seems to be Blade's broken dream.

The Passerby's Ragged Embroided Coat relic recounts the state that Kafka and Sam found the exiled Yingxing. After he joins them and adopts the new identity of Blade, he is helped to "regain his old appearance", where he finds himself falling into a trance that reveals his festering longing and love for Baiheng.

“The unnamed was brought into a tailor's shop, where his sizes were measured and presentable clothes were custom-made... People even dressed his hair, groomed his face, and made him regain his old appearance. In hazy memories of the olden days, he [Yingxing] finally made up his mind to gift his bosom friend [Baiheng] with his hand-made jade flask, only to realize with a shock that the person he longed for was no longer there.”

Right after these words, it reads,

“He realized that everything he relied on to walk this earth — this body, this life, this love and hatred, and even this set of clothes — were just loaned items.”

In another relic and in Blade's second character story, the description recalls the "unnamed" [Yingxing] to refer to Baiheng as his "beloved." In Blade's third character story, it reads the following:

“Listen, Bladie, loosen up." / "Listen, don't think about anything at all." / He nodded. The woman walked to his side, smiling. Yet he thought her smile looked very sad. / "Maybe someone left her before they could listen to everything she had to say," he thought.”

In here where Blade is observing Kafka’s sad smile, he is speaking from experience at the last sentence, likely referencing his relationship with Baiheng.

Quotes[]

“Why...why is it, that only the abominations can return time and time again? Why does someone like her have to be buried, returned to ash, and eventually forgotten....why?!”
— Blade's grief over Baiheng's death in "Clouds Leave No Trace"
“Why the frown, Yingxing? You too Imbibitor Lunae, let's see a smile!”
— Baiheng to Yingxing and Dan Feng in "Ichor of Two Dragons"

Fanon[]

BaiXing is not a popular ship within the fandom, as Baiheng is merely a mentioned character, and the history of the High-Cloud Quintet is rather vague and obscure—as well as the fact that a lot of players don’t read into the lore which explains BaiXing’s relationship. However, many find BaiXing to be an endearing and heartbreaking ship, due to Blade's hinted feelings for Baiheng and her subsequent death.

After the “Clouds Leave No Trace” quest, many of the player base has hated on Baiheng and her relationship with Dan Feng and Yingxing, saying she’s a Mary Sue, since both mentioned characters committed a grave sin in order to resurrect her, despite the two being rather detached and cold. However, some players were called out for simply being upset that Yingxing has implied feelings for Baiheng, and therefore only hating on the quest due to their shipping preferences. There has also been controversy surrounding who Yingxing’s beloved was, though this misconception was cleared. As a result of the many dramas related to Baiheng, BaiXing rivals RenHeng.
