Bakugou Rescue Squad is the friendship between Izuku Midoriya, Shoto Todoroki, Tenya Iida, Momo Yaoyorozu, and Eijiro Kirishima from the My Hero Academia fandom.
Canon[]
Prior to the Hideout Raid arc, Shoto, Izuku, and Tenya had started to become closer, Tenya and Izuku having been friends since the beginning of school and Izuku befriending Shoto during the Sports Festival Arc. Izuku and Tenya being in danger led to Shoto coming to fight alongside them, furthering the bond between the three. On the other hand, Eijirou had been decent friends with everyone in the group, and Momo had had moments of friendship with both Tenya and Shoto, due to being a class rep alongside Tenya, and having to do her practical exam with Shoto.
After Katsuki Bakugou was kidnapped by the League of Villains during U.A.'s training camp, Eijirou feels immense guilt for having been stuck in a remedial class and unable to help protect Katsuki. Shoto also feels guilt, as he just missed catching the marble containing Katsuki, and the two want to go save Katsuki themselves, instead of waiting for the Pro-Heroes, as Momo had managed to put a tracking device on one of the Nomus. Tenya initially disagrees to this, and although Izuku wants to do something, he was badly injured in the previous fight. Eijirou, Momo, and Shoto decide to go in secret, but Eijirou promises to wait for Izuku if he does decide to come.
Izuku does chose to go, but before the four can leave, Tenya catches them and grows upset that they chose not to listen to him, as he broke the law trying to fight Stain, and almost got killed for it. Tenya punches Izuku, and Shoto gets upset, he and Eijirou stepping in to tell Tenya they won't engage with any villains and intend for the mission to be as secretive as possible. Momo also promises to stop the boys from getting overagitated, and relieved, Tenya decides to join the mission. He apologizes to Izuku, and he and Momo both agree that although they understand the boys' feelings, they need to protect them and stop them from getting into trouble.
The group uses Momo's tracking device, and gets on a train to follow it. Shoto tells them they could back out, but no one does. Upon getting closer to the League's hideout, Momo decides to buy everyone disguises so that the League members won't recognize them. Eventually, the group infiltrates the hideout, and are able to use Eijirou's night vision goggles to scout.
Despite being fearfully terrified of the apperance of All For One, the group manages to eventually save Katsuki in the midst of the fight between the heroes and the villains, and witness the fight between All Might and All for One. Although the Rescue Squad does not regret their actions, they end up reprimanded by Aizawa, and are almost expelled if not for All Might's retirement.
Fanon[]
The fandom enjoys this friend group, as it is a little bit of an oddball group, the exact characters not having all been super close before. They are often drawn together wearing the disguises Momo bought for them, fans finding them fun and a little goofy. This group is also popular due to including several popular ships within it, mainly KiriDeku, TodoDeku, and TodoMomo. It is also enjoyed as it strengthens the friendship between Izuku, Shoto, and Tenya.
