Bandicoot Siblings is the family ship between Crash Bandicoot and Coco Bandicoot from the Crash Bandicoot fandom.

Canon[]

In every canon that Crash and Coco appear, they are siblings, with Crash being the older brother. Their relationship across all canons is largely the same with very little difference, if any. Usually, their relationship involves Coco asking Crash for a favor, to which Crash complies. That said, there is no love lost between them and they get along.

Games[]

While Crash made his first appearance in the original Crash Bandicoot, Coco made her debut in the sequel Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back. At the start of the game, Coco asks Crash to go and retrieve a laptop battery for her. However, once Crash is warped away by Dr Cortex, Coco repeatedly tries to contact Crash and warn him about Cortex's true intentions. After several failed attempts, she finally succeeds and informs him on what will happen if Cortex were to have all of the power crystals. After Cortex's defeat, Crash and Coco are lying on N. Sanity Beach wondering what happened to their enemy.

In Crash Bandicoot: Warped, Coco has a more gameplay-active role and becomes playable for specific levels, but overall has fewer moments with her brother Crash.

In Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex, Crash and Coco are water-skiing on the beach of N. Sanity Island when they are interrupted by a tsunami. Once they get home and are informed that natural disasters are happening across the world, Coco reveals to Crash a VR Hub she had been working on to let them fast travel to various locations. Once Crash defeats Cortex for the final time, Coco arrives in a spaceship and carries both of them and Crunch Bandicoot back home.

Coco plays less of a role in Crash Twinsanity though she does appear at one point to try and "save" Crash from Dr Cortex, only to end up being frozen in stasis.

Crash of the Titans involves Crash rescuing Coco after she is captured by Cortex. During the opening sequence, Crash is helping Coco to work on a device that can recycle butter. Cortex arrives shortly afterwards and captures Coco, causing Crash to go after him to try and rescue her. Cortex manages to escape with Coco, however, proclaiming to build a giant robot known as the Doominator. Crash, along with Aku Aku, set out to stop Cortex and save Coco.

Cortex, meanwhile, ends up being replaced by his niece Nina who forces Coco to build the Doominator instead. Coco declares that "Crash will come for me and kick your butt!" By the final chapter, Crash manages to defeat Nina and save Coco. But now they must focus on destroying the Doominator, which Coco says she could do with a specific tool that Crash just so happened to be carrying around. With the Doominator destroyed, Crash and Coco head home to celebrate by having pancakes.

In Crash: Mind Over Mutant, Coco asks Crash to find some parts to help her repair and modify the eye of the Doominator to function as "the mother of all TiVo's." Upon completion, the group watch an infomercial for a device known as the NV, which they are then shortly sent. However, Coco's NV begins to mutate her further, forcing Crash to fight her and free her from the device. With Coco saved, she helps Crash by hacking into Cortex's computer where they learn the truth about the NV. Coco then joins Crash on his adventure. (Only playable on non-PS2 ports of the game.)

In the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, an extra detail was added that allowed Coco to be playable in all three games. By using the Time Twister's time travelling properties, Coco was able to go to the past and help Crash on his adventures.

In Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, Coco spends most of her time alongside Crash as they both go through the adventure together, sharing much of the experience together.

Manga[]

In the Crash Bandicoot tie-in manga Crash Bandicoot: Dansu! De Jump! Na Daibouken, Coco decides to pay a visit to Crash shortly after he found out that Tawna left him for Pinstripe. At first, Crash mistakes Coco for Tawna until he is corrected. After reading out the letter Tawna left for Crash, Coco tells him he needs to become stronger so that he can find someone better than Tawna, which Crash begins doing. Coco was at first rewarding Crash with Wumpa Fruit (known as Apples in the manga), but changed her mind, causing Crash to go and find his own. Coco is not seen again for the rest of the manga.

TV Shows[]

Crash and Coco make on appearance together in the final episode of Skylanders Academy: Raiders of the Lost Arkus - Part 2. After the Skylanders visit their dimension for help, they appear at the final fight against Kaos and the Conquetron to defend the Core of Light. The two seldom interact with each other, however, but are known to be siblings in this series.

Moments[]

  • After defeating Geary in Crash Nitro Kart, and if playing as Team Bandicoot, Geary will begin to scrub down Crash, to which Coco laughs at.
  • After saving Coco in Crash of the Titans, the two share a quick hug.
  • During the remastered introduction of Crash Bandicoot: Warped, after Crash bangs his head on the door of his house, Coco opens the door and drags him in.
  • At the end of Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, Crash and Coco play a video game together with Tawna.

Fanon[]

Bandicoot Siblings is a very popular familyship. It's not uncommon for fans to draw both characters together in many friendly or goofy contexts. Fans may also sometimes draw them with their pets, Polar and Pura, respectively. Most fanfictions of them tend to play off of Coco's 'bossy' nature and Crash's compliance, though there are occasional exceptions.

In most instances where fans ship Crash with Tawna, Tawna is often treated as a big sister figure to Coco. Likewise, if fans ship Crash with Pasadena, Coco and Pasadena usually have a 'best friends' relationship.
