Season 2[]
When reconnecting with their ex-girlfriend Eda and telling her about Emperor Belos' plans in "Eda's Requiem", Raine gets the idea of using Eda's curse against the coven heads pursuing them. However, when it seems that their self-sacrifice scheme is working, Raine finds a photo on Eda's person, depicting her happy with Luz and King. They realize that Eda's has found a family for herself and refuses to let Eda sacrifice herself. Even as Eda explains that she's merely looking after Luz and King to help them reunite with their actual families, Raine argues that the two are still depending on her, telling Eda that they won't go through with the sacrifice either, looking for alternatives to defeat Belos. Off-screen, Luz hears all about Eda's adventures with Raine.
They don't interact properly until "O Titan, Where Art Thou", when eavesdropping on Eda contacting them to prevent Luz and King getting in harm's way. Luz however interprets this as Eda abandoning the two of them, but Eda is deadset on saving her life, only for the two of them to be captured by Belos' Coven Scouts. As they believe that they'll be brought right before Emperor Belos himself, they are surprised to find out that the Coven Scouts were actually spies sent by Raine to retrieve them. Raine greets Luz in a friendly manner, calling her "the famous human witch" and telling her that Eda had been bragging about her to them for hours. Luz is just as thrilled to finally meet Raine in person, gushing about the stories Eda told her about their adventures together. When Lilith reveals that the rebellion does actually have a plan to stop Belos' Draining Spell, Luz asks if they came up with a cool rebel name. Raine confirms that they did, they call themselves the "CATTS" (Covens Against The Throne) and Luz pulls up her cat hoodie, excited about things coming full circle.
In "Clouds on the Horizon", the CATTs reveal their plan to disguise Eda as Raine to find a way to stall the Draining Spell to enact the rest of their plan, Luz is unsure if Eda would really want to risk her life for the plan. When Raine tells the rebels to get moving, Luz holds Raine by the sleeve, grimly asking them to promise that they'll protect Eda. Raine smiles and winks, telling Luz that they promise.
In "King's Tide", when the other Coven Heads loyal to Belos find out about the ruse, the Draining Spell is activated, with Eda starting to wither in pain as her sigil draining her is only strengthened by her curse. Raine limply crawls over to her, telling her that they promised a special kid to protect her. Despite Eda trying to stop them, Raine detaches Eda's arm branded with the sigil with the last of their strength before collapsing in Eda's lap, fulfilling their promise to Luz as Eda is now immune to the Draining Spell's effects.
Season 3[]
In "For the Future", Belos had resorted to control Raine's body, who had already been transformed into a puppet by the Collector. While impersonating Raine, he informs the Collector that Luz had returned to the Demon Realm. When the Collector asks why, Belos tells them about Luz wanting to help King overthrow the Collector, purposefully leaving out that they agreed that they plan to reason with the Collector first. Belos as Raine then takes the Collector to a cliff overlooking the heroes, showing them Luz reunite with King and then plan how to deal with the Collector. The Collector is convinced, snapping their fingers to prevent them going through with their plan.
In "Watching and Dreaming", the Collector laments to "Raine" how their attempt at keeping Luz, King and Eda trapped in their personal nightmares only led to them hating the Collector more. "Raine" then suggests to the Collector that playing with them in person would cause them to consider befriending them, clearly just trying to get rid of them. However, Raine is managing to regain control of their body when Belos is driving them towards the Titan's heart, but they couldn't prevent him from possessing that instead. Raine is ensnared in Belos' moss, barely keeping themself alive through magic whistling, until Luz, Eda and King all work together to get to the Titan's heart. However, when Eda frees Raine from the moss, Raine is stunned to see Luz in a far more powerful form, with Luz telling them that there's no time to explain. When Luz tells Raine that they have to end this, Raine is excited, and the three watch Luz destroy the Titan's heart and launch what remains of Belos far outside. When Belos makes a last attempt at trying to get Luz to sympathize with him, Luz just watches his form dissipate, merely stepping aside when Eda, Raine and King kick what is left of Belos until he stays dead.

Ever since "Eda's Requiem", fans were looking forward to seeing Luz interact with Raine. Since Raine is dating Luz's substitute mother, they are often portrayed as filling a step-parent role in Luz's life.
