In Bruce Wayne's career of Batman, he manages to obtain the care of and adopt numerous children. The order of which they are adopted is: Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake and Damian Wayne (from the oldest to the youngest). While Dick, Jason and Tim are not related by blood to Bruce, Damian is his biological son. Both Dick and Jason were orphans when they first met Bruce, while Tim still had his parents when he become Batman's partner; before being orphaned himself and get taken in by his mentor. As for Damian his existence was kept secret from Bruce, until Talia al Ghul thought it was time for father and son to meet. Bruce didn't plan to become a father or to foster any children, but after seeing himself in Dick from witnesses the deaths of his own parents he decided to take him in. Leading to Dick becoming Batman's first on field partner, Robin. After a much older Dick left to become his own person it began a cycle of Batman passing the Robin mantle to the young boys he finds himself taking under his wing. Each time certain events led to Bruce's wards leaving his side and taking on new a persona to call themselves, while the past and current Robins find themselves calling one another brothers. Due to their shared connection to Bruce and the Robin mantle. Although Bruce was the one who brought them together, Dick is the one who helps them to be a family.
Bruce knows that he wasn't an excellent father, from treating his wards as soldiers than children when they were young, but he does try to make amends for his mistakes towards them. As well as try to be what a father should be. Seeing the young man Dick became had given Bruce hope of him reconnecting with Jason and Damian. He didn't make that many mistakes with Tim and is proud of Tim's detective skills, from having to teach them to Dick, Jason and Damian; while Tim already had them. All that Damian wants is his father's love and to prove himself worthy of the mantle each one of his adopted brothers held, before him.

After a fight with Mr. Freeze left Batman's four sons feeling too cold to grapplegun their way home, Batman offers them a ride. After all four of them called shotgun Batman left them to sort it out, while he speaks with Gordon. The four tried to use their ranks and the parts they played in defeating Freeze to get the front seat, but by the time Batman got back they were still arguing. Like they were the last time they fought over shotgun, they all ended up in the back. While Batman wonders how they could work this out, the next time his sons have the same fight.
When Bruce was injured and ordered to stay in bed until he recovers, Tim and Damian sided with Alfred. Refusing to sit back when Gotham needs Batman, Bruce tries to sneak into the Batcave. Only to be stopped by Tim, Damian and Jason. Who were making sure that Bruce follows Alfred's orders and takes care of himself.

The Batboys being core members of the Batfamily when it comes to Batman and his four iconic Batsons, they tend to have the most attention. In both the comics and the DC/Batman fanbase, from the number of appearances they had in DC related medias. Even though some of these adaptations don't have all five Batboys in them, and only have one or two of them be left out, simply be mentioned only or not have them cross paths with one another on screen.
