BayoJeanne is the femslash ship between Bayonetta (Cereza) and Jeanne from the Bayonetta fandom.

Canon[]

Cereza and Jeanne first met as children and became close friends. As they grew up to become Umbra Witches, they became friendly rivals that frequently tested each other in battle. As adults, Jeanne became the next heiress to the Umbra Witches; for her final trial, Jeanne had to choose another witch in the clan to fight, and she chose Cereza, despite the Umbran Elder insisting it was forbidden due to Cereza's ‘impure’ blood. Jeanne and Cereza engaged in combat, however, the trial was interrupted as angels from Paradiso attacked. The two witches stayed together through the skirmish and eventually found a safe room; in the room they found Cereza's now-slain mother. Devastated, Cereza lost her will to continue fighting, which resulted in Jeanne impaling her with a dagger and sealing her away in a coffin at the bottom of a lake so the angels could not obtain her Left Eye. 500 years later, Cereza, now going by the name 'Bayonetta', reawakened with amnesia and would spend another 20 years trying to recall her past. Jeanne on the other hand, was brainwashed by Balder of the Ithavoll Group and forced to work for the forces of Paradiso.

Bayonetta[]

After a battle with angels at a graveyard, Bayonetta is being driven to The Gates of Hell by her informant, Enzo, when they notice a plane flying low just behind them. The car is blown off the ground and Bayonetta enters Witch Time to assess her surroundings. This is when Jeanne appears and taunts Bayonetta, who doesn’t recognize her. The two fight off the angels surrounding them before Jeanne leaps off, leaving Bayonetta wondering about her identity.

After traveling to Vigrid, Bayonetta encounters Jeanne again, who briefly steals her Umbran Watch. She gives Bayonetta insight on their past and how they fought for the Umbra throne, before leaving again. Later at the Crescent and Sunrise Valleys, Bayonetta finds Jeanne speaking with the Cardinal Virtue, Temperantia; after the angel leaves, the two start another fight, and Jeanne flees using Beast Within, a technique Bayonetta picks up on.

While stuck in Paradiso, Bayonetta finds herself inside an Umbran ruin, where she finds a wooden carving resembling two little girls; the bottom of the carving has "Jeanne" and "Cereza" inscribed. Bayonetta connects the carving to the young girl she found in Vigrid, who is also named Cereza.

Much later, Bayonetta boards a Military Transport Valkyrie in search of Cereza, and meets Jeanne once again. Jeanne taunts Bayonetta on her relationship with the girl and initiates yet another fight, intentionally riling her up in order to awaken the Left Eye.

The two witches meet each other one more time at Isla Del Sol and engage in one last fight, which ends with Bayonetta winning. Jeanne finally comes to her senses and tells Bayonetta of their past together, revealing that the red jewel in Bayonetta's Umbran Watch was in fact the seal she used to save her. She encourages Bayonetta to continue fighting before she is seemingly killed by two rockets that collide with the building. Bayonetta is flung into another building and is saddened by Jeanne’s supposed demise.

In the game’s final chapter, Bayonetta has been taken hostage by Balder in order to resurrect the goddess, Jubileus. Jeanne, who survived the explosion, rides to her friend’s rescue. After pulling Bayonetta out from Jubileus’ eye, Jeanne is blown away while Bayonetta is left to fight Jubileus alone. After the battle, the remains of Jubileus's statue threaten to crash into earth; Jeanne reappears and she and Bayonetta work together to destroy it.

A few days later, a false funeral is held for Bayonetta, with Jeanne acting as a nun and praying to summon angels. The angels appear and Jeanne assaults them, signaling Bayonetta to rise from her coffin, and the two continue taking them out together.

Bayonetta 2[]

On Christmas Eve, Jeanne shows up in the city whilst Bayonetta is shopping with Enzo. She tells Bayonetta that something is amiss with the forces of Paradiso and Inferno. Later, Bayonetta fights with angels atop a jet and Jeanne joins her; together they defeat the angel, Belief, and Bayonetta summons Gomorrah to finish it off. However, Gomorrah breaks free of his restraints and tries to strike Bayonetta with his tail; Jeanne protects her by blocking the strike, which knocks her soul out of her body. The demonic forces from Inferno proceed to drag Jeanne’s soul downward and Bayonetta fails to reach her. After defeating Gomorrah, Bayonetta takes Jeanne’s lifeless body to The Gates of Hell where it is stored in a coffin. After discussing with Rodin, Bayonetta (with Enzo) heads to the mountain of Fimbulventr where a gate to Inferno is said to reside.

After entering Inferno, Bayonetta finds that Jeanne’s soul is being contained by the demon, Alraune, who is feeding off Jeanne’s power. With the aid of Madama Butterfly, Bayonetta successfully regains Jeanne’s unconscious soul; she attaches Jeanne’s Umbran Watch to her soul, but she still doesn’t awaken. Bayonetta begins to grow desperate, fretting that she has lost her friend, before Jeanne awakens that same moment. Bayonetta regains herself and advises that Jeanne goes back to her body; Jeanne’s soul begins to transport back, but she warns Bayonetta that something ‘big’ is going to happen to their world.

Later, Jeanne returns with her restored body on a jet to fly Bayonetta and Balder to the top of Fimbulventr; after Bayonetta defeats Aesir, Jeanne summons Gomorrah to devour his physical body. Several days later, the two witches go shopping together, when they notice Enzo’s plane surrounded by angels coming their direction. They kick the plane upwards and jump atop it; Bayonetta complains about losing another dress, while Jeanne comments that Bayonetta should be nicer to Enzo for a change. They get into uniform and face off against the angels once more.

Bayonetta 3[]

During the Prologue of the game, Bayonetta is caught amidst the Homunculi’s invasion of New York. Jeanne eventually shows up on her motorbike and saves Bayonetta from being struck. When the Kraken demon is summoned, the two team up to fight it. However, after the fight, the Kraken nearly lands a hit on Bayonetta, but she is saved by Jeanne; Jeanne is then swallowed by the demon and taken underwater. Bayonetta uses Madama Butterfly to open Kraken’s jaws and Jeanne is freed, with Bayonetta taking her unconscious body back to the surface.

The two are separated for the majority of the game, with Bayonetta traveling throughout various universes in search of Chaos Gears, while Jeanne heads to the G.O.R.C facility to fetch Dr. Sigurd. They finally reunite on Thule when their objectives are complete and fend off the Homunculi blocking the portal to the Alphaverse. Bayonetta promises to see Jeanne back as she dives into the portal, while the latter stays to keep guard. However, Jeanne is subsequently murdered by Dr. Sigurd, who reveals himself as Singularity, head of the Homunculi.

During her fight with Singularity Balance, Bayonetta is able to free the souls of the hundreds of Variants he has slain, including Jeanne. The two witches team up one more time to knock Singularity back to the earth, before Jeanne's soul vanishes for good.
