Harley Quinn Romances[]
Bea and Tora are finishing up fighting a bad guy, calling him out for his awful choice of name. As they finish up, Tora doesn't understand how Bea deals with all the attention. Bea says they deserve it after defeating a stereotypical supervillain, but Tora points out that they're getting to the awkward part of Bea reporting to her ex the police captain. Bea asks if they can skip that part, but Tora says it's her favorite part. She then says that she's never had a man look at her the same way Jose looks at Bea, but Bea says that men look at her that way all the time. Tora reminds her that her last boyfriend was Guy, and Bea apologizes for that. Bea then quickly speaks to Jose, and as he walks away, Tora makes fun of the awkwardness. Bea says that he was the one who wanted to keep things professional, and Tora says that's reasonable. Bea says that's very Tora, and Tora says that might be why Bea likes him. Tora says that since they're there, Bea can introduce her to Rio.

BeaTora is more of a rarepair in the overall DC fandom, but is more popular for JLI fans. This is due to the two not having as many frequent appearances since the New 52, so not as many newer fans know about the two as a potential ship. It's still often listed as a ship that should have been canon by many DC fans, with it sometimes winning polls for who fans think will be the next LGBT+ characters. It is often shipped alongside Boostle.
The ship appeals to certain fans due to the Opposites Attract trope. As their powers are fire and ice themed, making it easy for fans to like see the irony of the two being together. As well as their powers balancing each other out.
On AO3, BeaTora is the second most written ship for Tora and the most written for Beatriz. It also the third most written ship in the Justice League International (Comics) tag. There are currently 30 written works.
