Memory Chasers

When Logan first met Astrid, he and the rest of the Brooklyn Bureau were summoned to Castle Nocturnia to rendezvous with Royce. Upon arriving, they saw Astrid's awe-inspiring dreamcrafting abilities, a sight that left Logan and his friends spellbound. Momentarily, Astrid recognized the Brooklyn Bureau as the one responsible for the discovery of the castle and subsequent apprehension of the Nightmare King. Despite her admiration for their heroic deeds, Astrid couldn't resist a gentle critique regarding the Bureau's lack of the Night Bureau's iconic standards, such as the uniforms or badges.

Witchy Ways

Royce sternly reprimanded Oz for the team's reckless behavior, which not only put themselves but also Mrs. Castillo in danger during the siren attack that occurred under Oz's supervision. Royce recommended that the Brooklyn Bureau consider letting certified Dream Chasers, as skilled as Astrid, manage such high-pressure situations in the future to prevent further mishaps. Logan felt a pang of annoyance at Astrid's smug demeanor, which only added to the tension within the two's dynamics.

Toss and Turn

When the Brooklyn Bureau returned to Castle Nocturnia, Logan couldn't help but overhear Astrid teasing their outfits to Royce. Feeling a surge of indignation, Logan decided to address Astrid directly, pointing out the mocking tone and smirky expression she wore. Astrid resorted to dreamcrafting, conjuring a banana right in front of Logan. At first, he dismissed it as a harmless prank, assuming it was a regular banana meant for him to slip on. However, to his surprise, the banana came alive and launched an unexpected attack on Logan.

Later during the initial R.E.M. trial, "Toss and Turn," Logan initially exuded confidence, convinced that nothing could break his upbeat mood. Nevertheless, his assurance faltered when Astrid appeared beside him, compelling Logan to acknowledge his prior miscalculation. Amusingly, Astrid bid Logan good fortune and cheekily hoped that his beastly transformation would play to his advantage.

Beat the Clock

Logan had immersed himself in the wisdom of ancient texts, diligently studying renowned books like The Art of War and The Book of Five Rings in preparation for the upcoming R.E.M. trial in which he would confront Astrid.

While the Dream Chasers were diligently practicing for the second challenge, "Beat the Clock," Logan failed to reach for the alarm clock. Astrid made a sardonic remark questioning Logan's ability to pass the challenge without dream crafting. As a comeback, Logan quoted a passage from The Art of War, emphasizing that understanding how to conquer a challenge does not always necessitate the ability to do so. But Astrid retorted that Logan seemed to excel in the "not being able to do it" aspect. Despite Astrid's playful taunting, Logan persisted in practicing to reach the alarm clock. Amused by his determination, Astrid set the alarm on, playfully goading Logan to pursue it. When it was Astrid's turn, she effortlessly surpassed the practice run, leaving Logan feeling doomed.

As the second challenge unfolded, the Dream Chasers competed to reach the alarm clocks in time, with Logan and Astrid vying for the last clock to secure a spot in the finals. Logan resorted to jumping on top of Astrid and stealing her jetpack. However, Astrid managed to use a controller, causing Logan to crash and securing the alarm clock for herself, thus winning a spot in the finals. Logan expected Astrid to revel in her victory, but to his surprise, she complimented his skills and acknowledged that she couldn't have achieved what he did without being a Dream Crafter. When Logan, out of the trials, asked if he could have Astrid's jetpack, she replied with a reference to The Book of Five Rings. Delighted that his reading had paid off, Logan inquired about Astrid's favorite chapter, showing mutual respect and camaraderie between the two.

Wake That Dreamer

Logan and Astrid's relationship took a turn when they both started to develop feelings for each other. During a break from the trials, Logan and Astrid were engaging in some playful banter by seeing who could eat the most chips when Astrid brought up the upcoming third trial where they would be competing against each other, thanks to Royce's decision to have Logan take Zoey's place. However, MadTeo, who was pretending to be Mateo, arrived. Astrid couldn't help but question Izzie about how dreamy Mateo always seemed to be, which left Logan feeling caught off guard. As time went on, MadTeo began to flirt with Astrid, effortlessly impressing all the other Dream Chasers with his charm and skills. This only served to intensify Logan's jealousy towards MadTeo, as he desperately tried to outshine him to win Astrid's attention back. Despite his best efforts, Logan found himself unable to compete with MadTeo's charisma and confidence, which only fueled his frustration and insecurity. During the final trial, "Save that Dreamer," Logan was distracted by Astrid's impressive skills in rescuing the dreamers as Astrid waved to him, causing him to lose focus on the task at hand.

A Tale of Two Teos

When the round to decide the leader of Royce's task force was about to begin, Logan gazed at Astrid dreamily. Cooper saw this and teased Logan, making him feel embarrassed.

DoomBloob, a creation of MadTeo, was later unleashed upon Astrid's eagle, causing her to plummet from the sky. Fortunately, Logan rushed to Astrid's aid and managed to save her with the help of Cooper. However, MadTeo revealed his allegiance to the Never Witch. The Never Witch wasted no time in imprisoning Castle Nocturnia and all the Night Bureau agents, including Astrid. Desperate to rescue her, Logan desperately called out to Astrid, but their efforts were in vain as they found themselves trapped within a doom-dome. The Night Hunter intervened, wielding Zoey's pocket watch to reverse time, allowing Zoey to come to the aid of her friends. As a result, both Logan and Astrid were freed from their captivity, and they wasted no time in escaping alongside the Brooklyn Bureau. With Castle Nocturnia and the Night Bureau now imprisoned, Logan extended an invitation to Astrid to join him at the Brooklyn Bureau's landing. In response, Astrid expressed her indifference towards their destination, emphasizing that as long as they remained together, she would be content. Moved by her words, Logan gently placed a hand on Astrid's shoulder, and together, they shared a heartfelt smile.

Adventures in Robot-Sitting

The Brooklyn Bureau took care of all the Dreamers they rescued from being trapped in the Cyber Realm by providing them with hot chocolate. Logan offered a cup to Astrid, who gladly accepted it. While Astrid created whipped cream with her Dreamcrafting abilities, Logan praised her skills and wished for his own hourglass to enhance his Dream Crafting. Astrid pointed out that Logan had the ability to Beast Craft, saying that his smaller beast form was impressive.

Astrid bravely charged forward with a lance in hand as they prepared to confront the Never Witch's army. Izzie remarked to Logan about how cool Astrid was, even calling her Logan's girlfriend. Logan quickly clarified that Astrid was not his girlfriend, but he couldn't help but wonder if she might want to be. When the Never Witch appeared, intent on stealing the negative traits of the Brooklyn Bureau to create doppelgangers, Astrid attempted to protect Logan from her, but unfortunately, she was too late to stop the attack.

Personal Space Invaders

While the Brooklyn Bureau was en route to Mr. Oz's Landing, Astrid shared that her visits to the Dream Realms were limited to mission times. Izzie chimed in, offering to guide Astrid to any realm she wanted. Logan, nervously stuttering, also expressed his willingness to take Astrid along. Soon after, the team faced an unexpected attack from Astropedes, resulting in the explosion of the Spacebus and sending them drifting into the vastness of space. In a moment of quick thinking, Astrid created a jetpack and soared over to Logan to save him. After successfully rescuing him, they clasped hands and exchanged smiles as they rejoined the rest of the team at Mr. Oz's Landing. However, their arrival was met with more challenges, as they stumbled upon additional booby traps, leading to Astrid falling through a trapdoor, much to Logan's distress.

Fistful of Doppelgangers

The Brooklyn Bureau faced a tough challenge trying to get everyone out of the Candy Realm before the Never Witch could attack. Despite their efforts, the Never Witch's army eventually broke through. Logan pointed out that if Astrid had been present, she would have known how to handle the situation.

Irrational Treasure

While searching for the Eye of Confusion, Logan had a close call with Mr. Hopper, who almost trampled him while riding on flying books. Astrid pointed out that concentrating is quite challenging. Logan complimented Astrid on her ability to focus well. Astrid then expressed her difficulty in getting rest during unusual hours, especially since it was noon in Berlin. Logan replied that he also tends to sleep around noon, but Astrid noted that it isn't always the case for him. Logan proposed that they could spend time together according to Germany's schedule, even if it meant him dozing off during class, to which Astrid agreed, saying it would be wonderful since napping during the day is tough. Logan encouraged Astrid to return to the Waking World, assuring her that they would meet up the next day.

Mission Implausible

Logan chose to visit the Dream Forge to obtain an Hourglass, which he thought would make him useful. Astrid, who felt that Logan was already quite capable, decided to accompany him to also acquire an Hourglass and regain her own strength. However, Logan insisted that Astrid was already remarkable on her own, even without an Hourglass.

As they journeyed toward the Dream Forge, Logan sought to learn more about Astrid. He asked about the reason for her disability, which inadvertently caused her discomfort; she revealed that her condition was congenital and pointedly questioned Logan about his own circumstances. Logan immediately felt remorse for his question, realizing he should have asked something lighter, like her favorite color, as he had originally considered. However, Astrid offered him a gentle smile and reassured him.

Upon entering the Forge, both Logan and Astrid were confronted with their deepest fears. This led them into a complex maze, which served as the final challenge to earn their hourglasses. While Astrid was resolute in navigating the maze through honest efforts, even if it meant going solo, Logan opted for a quicker route by jumping over the walls. This choice frustrated Astrid, who was dedicated to completing the Forge's challenge ethically, believing that cheating could lead to failure. Logan claimed that the real challenge lay in creating their hourglasses rather than simply reaching the end of the maze to obtain one. He suggested that they should think outside the box. To their surprise, when Logan broke down one of the walls, the shattered pieces miraculously transformed into his hourglass. Nonetheless, Astrid continued to get her hourglass her way. Logan attempted to give Astrid his hourglass since he was unsure how to use it, but Astrid refused the offer. When they reached the location of the hourglass intended for Astrid, they were confronted by illusions of Royce that mocked her. In response, Logan stood up for Astrid, which caused him to evolve his beast form, leaving both him and Astrid in awe. Astrid reassured Logan, insisting that she needed to confront the illusions on her own until they disappeared. After receiving her hourglass, Astrid decided it no longer felt right for her. Logan agreed, expressing that he was content being himself and chose to give his hourglass to Astrid instead.

Upon returning to the observatory, Logan and Astrid reunited with Cooper and Izzie. Astrid remarked that the trial had been easy, largely due to Logan's support. She took Logan's hand, and he reciprocated the gesture.

Grim Vengeance

In a race against the Never Witch to locate the Crown of Control, the Dream Chasers ventured into the Grim Realm, seeking insights at the Shadowkeep. Astrid was filled with apprehension, as this was uncharted territory for her. However, Logan comforted her, confidently stating that the Shadowkeep wouldn't be frightening with him accompanying her. His words brought a smile to Astrid's face. As they entered the Shadowkeep, Logan began to unveil the secrets of Susan and Snivel, which left Astrid thoroughly entertained.

Behind the Scenes[]

In the Dreamzzz campaign on the Lego website, Astrid's description included a subtle mention of a potential crush she have on Logan, though there were no overt displays of affection towards him when Season 2 premiered. Compared to Logan, Astrid kept her feelings more concealed, making it less apparent to viewers.

Logan's affection for Astrid was foreshadowed by Tommy Andreasen, one of Dreamzzz's Executive Producers, when questioned about Season 2. He revealed that Logan's character arc would revolve around his love life first, unlike the other main characters who would have their storylines centered more on their daily lives.

Fanon[]

Upon the release of Season 2, BeastlyPerfection had already received recognition, becoming a rare coupling that captivated fans. Fans were enamored with the unique interplay of personalities between the characters—Logan's perspective being influenced by Astrid's more traditional mindset, gradually leading him to adopt her conventional thinking, while Astrid, in turn, was inspired by Logan to explore more avant-garde and creative approaches. By the time Season 2A premiered, BeastlyPerfection had became one of the top three pairings in the Dreamzzz fandom, alongside Matoey and LullabyShipping. Some yearned for their relationship to become canon later in the series.

The dynamic between BeastlyPerfection is often perceived as a classic case of a bully and their victim, particularly due to Astrid's initial treatment of Logan, which drew parallels to Logan's harsh behavior towards Mateo back in Season 1. Many viewed Astrid's actions as bullying, leading to accusations of hypocrisy when fans expressed their support for the relationship, especially in light of Logan's treatment of Mateo. Nevertheless, fans of BeastlyPerfection reject this interpretation, arguing that their interactions were more about rivalry than actual bullying, suggesting that the complexities of their relationship were mischaracterized by those who prefer Cyanshipping more.
