Jurassic World: Chaos Theory[]
Ben and Kenji reunite when he, Sammy, and Darius travel to Kenji's trailer to warn him that they are being hunted.

Ben and Sammy decide to split up from Darius and Kenji so they can go looking for Yaz. The groups go their separate ways, but eventually reunite a few days later, when the groups separately track the illegal shipments of dinosaurs to a warehouse. They are relieved to see each other again, but Ben is worried about Bumpy. Kenji and the others help Ben to free Bumpy, and look on with dismay when they think that Bumpy is going to die, however, they are all relieved when it is revealed that Bumpy was merely pregnant. Ben shows the dinosaur egg off to the group, then hands the egg to Kenji to hold.
Before they can fully celebrate the new arrival, they are approached by Cabrera. He is upset that they have discovered his illegal trading, and threatens the group with a stun baton. Ben charges forward, trying to either distract or disarm Cabrera. Unfortunately, he is hit in the chest with the stun baton and falls to the ground. While Sammy takes charge, knocking the baton from Cabrera's hands, the rest of the group looks after Ben. Kenji helps pick Ben up off the ground, and half carries Ben as they run through the warehouse.
Upon gaining access to the internet via Brooklynn's phone, Ben learns that Brooklynn is alive. He decides to keep this information to himself until he knows for certain, not wanting to instill false hope in his friends. Eventually, Brooklynn reaches out to Ben and they video call each other. She begs him not to tell the others about her surviving her dinosaur attack, and Ben reluctantly agrees. He grapples with this secret as the group travel up river to find the broker. At one point, Ben and Kenji find themselves along together in one of the boats. Kenji opens up to Ben about the pain he's feeling, having lost both his father and (seemingly) Brooklynn. Ben tells Kenji that he's grappling with his own problems, and Kenji suggests they can't be nearly as deep as his. Ben tries to brush it off with a laugh, but seems uncomfortable with the idea of hiding Brooklynn's survival from Kenji.
Later, upon finding the broker's lab, the group is separated. Kenji and Ben end up alone together, and decide to investigate. They eventually find themselves on the opposite sides of a pane of two-way glass. Kenji can see Ben, but Ben can't see Kenji. Suddenly Brooklynn arrives in the room, and Kenji watches in shock as he discovers that not only is she alive, but that Ben knew. When Brooklynn leaves, Kenji confronts Ben. He demands to know how long Ben has known, and why he didn't tell them. Ben fears that Kenji is going to punch him, but he punches the two-way glass instead.
When the pair reunite with the others, Kenji instantly throws Ben under the bus, telling everyone that Ben has known that Brooklynn was alive the entire time. Season two ends with Kenji refusing to speak with Ben.
Fanon[]
The ship initially sailed in the first season, when Ben and Kenji were paired together in the gyrospheres. Since they were coupled alongside two other popular ships, Yasammy and Darilynn, many fans took to pairing the Nublar Six up into these three relationships. Fans enjoyed the Opposites Attract elements of the Benji ship, with Ben initially acting as the quiet, nerdy character and Kenji as the rich, popular one.
Shippers were excited to see Ben and Kenji reunite in Chaos Theory, and quickly took to the moment where Ben hands Bumpy's egg over to Kenji. Fans of Benji joked that Ben and Kenji were fathers or grandfathers now, and saw the moment as being inherently romantic.
There are currently over 200 works for Benji on AO3. It is the most popular ship for both characters, and the second most popular ship in the Camp Cretaceous fandom overall. It is the seventh most popular ship in the Jurassic Park franchise tag.
