Benlie is the het ship between Ben Tennyson and Julie Yamamoto from the Ben 10 fandom.

Canon

Alien Force

Their relationship started in "Pier Pressure" when Ben asked Julie out on a date on the pier. They were having fun until Omnitrix started beeping, forcing Ben to split from Julie, as she didn't know about Omnitrix. Ben found out the beeping had been caused by Ship, a dog-like Galvanic Mechamorph. They fought against each other until Ship kidnapped Julie to force Ben to follow him to his spaceship that had crashed and was going to explode with his owner, Baz-l, stuck inside. After Ben reached Julie, he accidentally revealed his secret to her. After Ben helped Baz-l, turning into Humungousaur and throwing the bomb into space, Ben and Julie went back to their homes, to hold hands.

Julie helped Ben in numerous of his problems, as in "Save the Last Dance", with his problem with Big Chill stealing Ben's consciousness, and in "War of the Worlds: Part 1", in the fight against the Highbreed invasion. She also seemed to show great concern and affection for Ben, and almost kissed him at the end of "War of the Worlds: Part 2".

Ultimate Alien

After Ben's secret was revealed to the world and he was worried everyone would hate him, Julie comforted him by kissing his cheek and saying "not everyone". In "Duped", Julie was very upset with Ben because, instead of spending time with her, he chose to use an Omnitrix bug to split himself into three so he could watch the movie version of "Sumo Slammers" as he himself and leave an immature version of himself with her.

In "Hero Time", Julie became jealous of Jennifer Nocturne, a movie actress, for kissing Ben when he saved her life. Later, both Julie and Jennifer were kidnapped by Overlord. When he tried to kill them both, Ben, as Goop, saved Julie, then called her "his girl", and she smiled. She then helped to take Overlord down.

Omniverse

In "Rules of Engagement", it is revealed that, because Ben was talking with a video game NPC enemy while he was on the phone with Julie, Julie believed that Ben had broken up with her and that she had already gotten a new boyfriend, Hervè. Ben never did anything to clarify the misunderstanding.

In "The Most Dangerous Game Show", Julie is one of the contestants who, not being related to Ben, were not removed from the competition for Ben's hand in marriage. However, as she was forced to participate as were most of the contestants, she was totally uninterested in the competition, texting Hervé in the meantime. This caused her to be thrown into the water during the "hole in the wall" round.

Fanon

Julie was the first girlfriend Ben had in the franchise, and the only one until their break up in Omniverse and Ben officially starts dating Ester, so it's understandable that fans appreciate Ben's relationship with Julie more than any other women on the show.

Benlie is so beloved in Ben 10 fandom that when Ben and Julie broke up, there were several complaints from fans, to the point of being one of the most criticized things by Omniverse haters.

On AO3, Benlie is the most written ship for Julie and the fifth most written for Ben. It is also the sixth most written ship in the Ben 10 Series tag. There are currently 120+ written works.

Trivia

• Derrick J. Wyatt never felt their relationship had much chemistry, as Ben did not treat her very well.
• The out-of-universe reason for Ben and Julie breaking up was that the crew wanted to do something different, and some of the producers didn't care for their relationship in Alien Force and Ultimate Alien.
  • As a result of the breakup, several of the staff started a letter-writing campaign and even threatened to stop watching the show, but Cartoon Network just didn't care.
