Season 4[]
THE HOST
Deanna comes into the spa to see Beverly in one of the chairs. She's taken aback and says she wasn't aware that Beverly ever came in there. Beverly says that she doens't, or at least doesn't very often, and Deanna says that it does feel good to indulge yourself sometimes. Beverly agrees and Deanna adds that it's really good when you haven't done so in awhile. Beverly asks what that's supposed to mean, and Deanna believes that Beverly is in love. Beverly wishes that Deanna wasn't so empathic and Deanna whispers that it's not really a secret. Beverly asks if that's true and Deanna points out that she's been glowing. Beverly notices that look Deanna is getting on her face, but Deanna says it's nothing. Beverly tells her it can't be, and Deanna admits she senses something in Beverly's new love, Odan. Beverly asks what she senses and Deanna asks how well she really knows him. Beverly thinks she knows him better than she's known anyone, and doesn't think she's being foolish. But starts to talk in circles about how she might feel, before settling on the knowledge that she hasn't felt this way in a long time. Deanna says that she must like it, and Beverly agrees that she does.

Bevtroi is a common pairing in the TNG fandom, but is more rare in the overall Star Trek fandom. It is however, one of the more popular femslash ships, and the most popular femslash ship in the TNG fandom. Given how the two were the closest to each other outside of their love interests, many fans liked the idea of the two getting together instead. Some just like their overall aesthetics, as Deanna's outfits tend to be complimentary to Crusher's Doctor's uniform. Others like how their work assignments are both similar and opposite to each other. With Beverly a medical doctor, and Troi a therapist.
On AO3, Bevtroi is the second most written ship for both Beverly and Deanna. It is also the fifth most written ship in the Star Trek: Next Generation tag. There are currently 280+ written works.
