Blackinnon is the het ship between Sirius Black and Marlene McKinnon from the Harry Potter fandom.
Canon[]
Sirius and Marlene were members of the Order of the Phoenix. Marlene served the Order during the First Wizarding War, and Sirius served in both the First and Second Wizarding Wars. It is not known whether the two knew each other before joining the Order.
When Sirius shows Harry a photograph of the original Order, the first person Sirius points out is Marlene. Harry finds an old letter for Sirius from Lily Evans mentioning Marlene's passing. Lily details in that letter to Sirius that she cried all night when she heard of Marlene and her family's death at the hands of Death Eaters in 1981. She attributes Peter Pettigrew's melancholy to the same reason. This could mean that Lily and the Marauders (and therefore Sirius) were very close to Marlene and her family.
Not much else is known about Marlene and her family. It is unknown if the rest of her family worked for the Order, or where their loyalties lay. It is unknown how old Marlene was upon her death in 1981, or how old she may have been upon joining the Order. It is unknown if the "family" that was killed by the Death Eaters referred to her parents and siblings, or her spouse and children.

Marlene McKinnon is one of the side characters that has been taken under the wing of the Marauders fandom and transformed into a full-fleshed character. She, alongside Dorcas Meadowes, is a canonical member of the Order of the Phoenix that has often been headcanoned to be close friends with the Marauders. Marlene is often portrayed as the same age as the Marauders, and is quite often placed in Gryffindor house to serve as a roommate for Lily Evans.
Blackinnon is an incredibly popular Marauders era ship that has existed since the earliest days of the Harry Potter fandom. As Marlene is a blank slate character, she is sometimes seen as a "self insert" which allows fanfiction authors to project all of their own traits onto her. The majority of interpretations of Marlene write her as the female equivalent of Sirius, making her wild and adventurous, and someone who wants to rebel against her pureblood upbringing. The pair are often depicted as Hogwarts sweethearts, and fans enjoy the tragedy of knowing that Marlene dies and Sirius serves 12 years in Azkaban. Other fans use Blackinnon as a prop in their queer fanfics, generally for ships like Wolfstar, to either cause jealousy for Remus or to help Sirius realize he is not interested in women.
Blackinnon is Sirius' seventh most popular romantic ship on AO3, and his second most popular heterosexual pairing. It is Marlene's second most popular pairing, although her first most popular pairing (Dorlene) only recently come into the fandom consciousness in 2023. Blackinnon was incredibly popular on early Harry Potter fanfiction sites, many of which can no longer be found on the internet. Dorlene and Wolfstar are the most common rivals for Blackinnon.
