Blackmote is the het ship between Black Hole and Remote from the Battle for Dream Island fandom.

Canon[]

Black Hole explains that he can't push their team swingset when Tree suggests that he does so, instead saying he can pull like there's no tomorrow. Remote tells him that he's wrong and there will be a tomorrow. Black Hole clarifies that he can warp spacetime to the point where there literally won't be a tomorrow.

Pen tries to call out Black Hole to suck up the incoming forks, but because he is too far away, Remote points out that he isn't known for his sense of hearing.

Black Hole is disappointed upon finding out that Remote sent a bomb to A Better Name Than That and reminds her that their team's main objective is not winning, but rather preventing death.

Remote watches Black Hole prevent Bomby's death by manipulating gravity to spin him back onto the staircase. Black Hole tells Remote that preventing death is as simple as that. Near the end of the challenge, Remote starts to get impatient that Pie isn't trying to race Flower up the stairs to win for them. Black Hole tells her that Pie is preventing her own death by not letting Flower explode her again. He calls Remote a slow learner when she becomes upset that they may lose again. At the last minute, Black Hole assists Pie in winning the challenge without Flower killing her in the process. Black Hole reassures Remote that Pie can be trusted and says she will be good at preventing death one day.

Before the Cake at Stake ceremony, Black Hole and Remote can be seen hanging out by the bathrooms.

Black Hole is disappointed at his team, including Remote, for blindly following rumors that would've led them to their deaths. He also reminds them that one of their team members, Pillow, is missing. Black Hole is further angered when the team flutters their arms, a gesture that indicates they don't care. They eventually come to their senses after realizing what this means and stop waving their arms. Black Hole tries to get Remote to stop as well but she appears to be unresponsive.

After the team finds Pillow inside Four, Black Hole continues to launch Pen, Bottle, and Remote so they can have fun wiggling their arms from Four's mouth. Tree believes that they could have escaped Four already, but Black Hole says that they are in no hurry. He points out that he hasn't seen Remote this happy in a while.

For the first challenge in The Power of Two, Remote wants to utilize Black Hole to make her new team win: walking up enough flights of stairs of the hotel and then jumping out of a window and letting Black Hole launch them up to the hotel's roof. She uses Marker to visualize her plan, drawing herself revolving around Black Hole. When the team is around the half way point, Remote throws a plant out of the window that instead gets sucked up by Black Hole. After being recharged, Remote carries her team up the last few flights and rushes to the roof to get Black Hole's attention. She remembers that Black Hole isn't known for his sense of hearing. She sacrifices the battery that keeps her alive in order to get Black Hole's attention.

Black Hole is wondering how the team is doing in getting a new battery for Remote. After they strike a deal with Cloudy, he offers the team the battery they're looking for, which Black Hole accidentally sucks up. While searching for blocks for the challenge, he and Lightning instead find a pile of batteries that they plan on using to revive Remote. He and Lightning showcase the batteries to the team which they use to bring her back. He gets slightly irritated when Rocky later kills Remote from his vomit acid.

Black Hole and Remote warn Tree that their landing pad is for death prevention and not for entertainment.

As Remote is struggling to pull Ice Cube out of the hole that Puffball lodged her in, she asks Black Hole for advice. He says that a contestant's life is more valuable to the team than a plant's life, suggesting that the team cuts the plant to save Ice Cube's life even if it means losing the challenge. Remote is nervous on losing the challenge but Black Hole makes it clear that death prevention supersedes any challenge in the competition. After the team ultimately cuts the plant, Black Hole, Tree, and Remote assure Two that it was "a necessary sacrifice".

In Black Hole's nightmare, he sucks up Remote and the rest of the former Death P.A.C.T. members.

Fanon[]

Blackmote is a popular ship in the Battle for Dream Island fandom. According to Wattpad opinion posts, the fandom is fairly divided on whether the two should be shipped romantically or platonically. Shippers believe that their interactions are cute and the two care for each other's needs as exhibited by canon. Others argue that they have more of a father-daughter or teacher-student type relationship and that Black Hole would physically be unable to do anything with Remote. There are various rival ships involving the two, such as Astrobiology (Tree x Black Hole), Liymote (Liy x Remote), and Treemote (Tree x Remote). The two are commonly shipped in a poly ship with Tree, creating BlackTreemote.

The ship has three works under their relationship tag on AO3. It is the second most written ship for both Black Hole and Remote, the first for Black Hole being with Tree and the first for Remote being with Liy.
